Yeah it’s always difficult putting up the price a lot. I have a few that knew a major price hike. Sophie must have loved it using the hose reel instead of the trolley. Love her hat too.
I’ll pass n about the hat that will make her smile 👍 She is so used to the trolly she doesn’t know how to avoid trailing hose catching things. Funny to watch
I bet Sophie had fun with the hose getting snagged on everything it could find :-) I think Sophie's hat might be more fashionable than yours :-) I would be too scared to put all prices up at the same time. Maybe just put up the worst under priced ones up first. Not sure if I would tell them in Jan that prices are going up in April.
Must admit my hat is over 20 years old! I did think that mentioning putting prices up in Jan would not be a good idea close to christmas. But i would like everything to be in place by Jan. Probably tell the ones as i go through the rounds, that have the next clean fall after April maybe. That way test the prices as i go. I think Sophie has found out that there is an art to using the hose.
I’ve been agonising over prices as well, some I’m going to just stick up a £1 but some Are going to be up £2 , not sure I’ve got the bottle to increase anymore , I hope the back improves soon Rob , top effort by Matthew and Sophie , all the best mate
It is hard as I keep saying one thing, then saying something else. But yes they have to go up really as every thing else is. Matthew & Sophie have been doing well the wind is up tonight and looks like a windy weekend.
You explain to your customers about price rises as and when you want mate. At least if you give them plenty of notice it isn't too much of a surprise. I hate discussing price rises but most people are pretty understanding. I sometimes emphasise "I've held off since ...., but costs keep going up so I need to put my prices up a bit" etc. Thanks for the great videos, insights and advice Rob, it is always appreciated mate.
Thank you 🙏 appreciated mate. I think your customers on the whole are quite in line with pricing. I do get the odd comment about make sure I put my prices up. I think some really like you and don’t want to see you stop. They do not want to go through finding someone they trust who just gets in with it.
@CrystalCleanWindows you are absolutely right mate. I have had a couple before say "you've got a business to run, I'll pay a bit more from now on" without me even asking. To be honest it's always the reliable ones that never cancel you. Others would be happy if you didn't put your prices up ever lol. There's nothing wrong with explaining a couple of cleans in advance, most will appreciate it Rob.
Always put your prices up in stages. Not all customers at once. Gives you time to test the water. If you do get lots if cancellations, it's easier to replace.
@@matthewdavies6722 good advice, but I have customers unfortunately who are related. So I guess I’ll have to make sure I put them up at the same time as they talk lol 😂
Great advice I done this I done 10 - 15 at first mainly the pain in the ass jobs 😂 and had none cancel then done another 20 and that was fine so started doing all the £12.00 jobs once I had cleaned them told them I've done them via text and to transfer the payment and also mentioned as of next month its going up to £15.00 ect literally lost about 3 or 4 jobs so 48 quids worth but but had gained about 600 per month extra from the increases im pretty content with minimum 15 now but will do a pound rise in a cupple of years again 👌
glad that worked out really well. You’re now left with cleans that are worth doing. Will make you much happier as well I imagine mate. I may have to test it out in stages to.
Cheers Paul, there are a couple of under priced ones and i do have some that are right with how we do things. But looking about i am pretty sure i am cheaper than others. It is a headache but i know we are going wrong some where.

Looking like the kids are taking over the business. 😉
@@tightmarker9924 one day maybe lol 😜 as long as it gets them through life wouldn’t really be a bad thing.

Tricky problem with the pricing! But appreciate your openness about it 👍
