Bumped into a customer today while out in Asda, he is a painter and we were and have been talking about the same thing! Just goes to show it applies to everyone really and applies to us all.
Hiya Rob. Fantastic video as always mate. I have had exactly the same on a window with a new pane a few weeks ago. It's the protective adhesive sheet that they peel off on install. They use all sorts of tools when lifting, moving and installing the pane (not just their hands). This leaves extra adhesive still on the window pane. My customer has just had it installed and could only see it when it's cold. In normal temperature the glass looks perfectly clean. I tried with an applicator and squeegee, went over a few times and it was still the same. Hope Matt wasn't too upset as it was definitely nothing to do with him 👍
@@kevdubbleyou thank you 🙏 I’ve had another customer let me know similar thing on a bathroom window. She keeps forgetting to tell me, said I’ll get up the ladder and have a look. She has guessed it is from the install. I have a customer that asks me once in a while to clean the inside conservatory windows. They look fine most of the time, but in the cold it smears up after we have cleaned! They have a gas heater and I am guess it’s fumes from that. Really weird how the glass your on about looks perfect in normal temperatures. Have you tried using steel wool or a walnut pad? I clean the windows of a window glazer, I could try and ask him how to get rid of that.
@CrystalCleanWindows yes mate I have tried both coconut and walnut pads (very gently) and no difference 🤷. I think you are right about the fumes mate - the heater might leave a layer of gum/gunge residue on the window pane that is difficult to get off. I have also seen this with someone who vapes in their conservatory. I thought it was just cigarettes that did this (from the tar in them) but it's not.
I’m also looking at all my prices. I’m working out if it’s under priced by my current price list and also how long it’s taking as I want a certain amount per hour. Definitely had some today that were underpriced.
I do time the windows in the summer to get the slower times to check the same thing. Problem is i get held up talking sometimes 🤣 That is a great way to see if your pricing is giving you an hourly rate so to speak. We are debating whether to stop all conny roofs or charge more.
The darker nights is definitely making things tight here too. Well done for working on your prices nice an early. Do you charge the same price no matter how big a window is? I have a regular window and a large window price - I tend to use the large one when it's bigger or for mock Georgian windows.
I tend to have one price, then I take into account how many are big windows. Then think whether to charge for an extra window or two. Really big windows we count as two windows. Hope that makes sense. There are so many different types and sizes of windows best to use something that is simple.
@@CrystalCleanWindows That's sort of what I do too. Sometimes I add a bit on for difficult access or long hose run, lots of flower pots etc. I suppose really it's about trying to earn a similar amount per hour no matter what house you are working on so it's 'fair' for everyone.
I think that's what we all do is to be fair to everyone including ourselves. I definitely priced to low when i started and i have slowly got better. Still got a way to go but i would say i am about the same as good window cleaners near me. Will be interesting how many old ones i have who are under priced.
Hi mate do you ever go to any cleaning expo? I've always wanted to go and would be cool to bump into you as ive watched you /Chris addis ae mackentosh and all them lot for years and im thinking if starting my own channel now always a good watch keep up the good work
Hi Mate thank you 🙏 for watching. I have only ever gone to one and that was back in 2017 when i was looking at becoming a window cleaner. I would like to go to the next one but i have said that every year. ended up needing to work instead! Mate just start a channel as it is something you can do while working, just treat it a a hobby. Then let it do it's thing.
Ha ha have had that before and I traveled a distance to point it out. I did laugh about it and said I am here so I might as well clean the inside. They were embarrassed but did laugh about it to. I use the QUICK-LOQ ANGLE ADAPTER (TYPE 1) LONG TOP ARM GOOSENECK from Gardiner
We managed to get he missed clean done the following day! Also the job in and out ended up external windows only, so helped me out 👍
I think most have us have got pricing on the brain this week👍🏻have a good rest of the week

Great video! Didn’t realise you aren’t too far from me, I’m in a village near Peterborough 😊
Hi Mate i used to clean out to Peterborough, Ramsey way! Used the Spotless water in Peterborough. 👍 See you on some Smouts lives.
Another great vid. Love getting callbacks to marks on the insides 😂
What swivel do you use on your pole ?
