Hey Guys, these are the BEST sounding drums that I have ever played. Warm, resonant, consistent, full and wide range at a variety of dynamics in a variety of musical settings.
Very resonant. The visuals are just beautiful, but the sound is above and beyond almost all other manufacturers. Congrats DW, you guys just keep finding a way to make all of us drum head bangers happy. Thank-you. Oh and Mr. Allen, you got it goin on. Thank-you also!!
Since you've had your kit for a year now, what are your thoughts? How do they sound, warm, bright, dark? Are they articulate, what is the attack like, the sustain ? What types of music do you play with them? I'm sure alot of drummers would love to read your review! Cheers
I have the mahogany spruce kit that y'all (DW) made for 2018 NAMM. HVLT SHELLS- Tom's 8x10, 9x12, Floor's 12x14, 14x16. Bass 18x22. Nickle hardware- born February 2018. I LOVE THIS DRUM KIT. Best instrument ever. Was super lucky, due to crazy events, to pick it up from the drum shop of Portland MA. wish I could post a picture of it in here. It resembles the kit in this new video! Thank you DW. The haters can hate...DW for life!!!! I am socking money away for another new build. Can't wait to see what else comes out of Oxnard CA. Cheers!!!!
Nice sounding kit................but I'm starting to believe that dw is sleeping on birch.....maple mahogany this, cherry that. Spruce this, oak that.....I mean don't get me wrong all dw kits sound really good. I believe birch is where its at. Just my opinion that's all
dw drums I think he’s just saying we aren’t seeing as many videos exhibiting birch the same way we’re seeing it done with other woods/ wood combinations.
That's exactly what i was saying.........DW don't advertise birch much.....at least I haven't seen any birch kits except for the shared video of the othere pure wood kits.
Kind of almost defeats the purpose of having such low fundamental sounding woods doesn’t it? On the other hand even listening from an I phone and with the drums tuned high they still punch.

Thank you for the demo! I can't wait to own a DW kit, I'm hoping to within the next year.
Cause you're playing them...
Do you remember what the Tom depths were? Super resonant not choked at all. Sounded more like tympani.
Mahogany is always so JAZZ to me. Great video
Finally a video where the drums are tuned right!
Beautiful drums and a beautiful player! I just love the touch .. beautiful! 🤟🏻

odd to tune the floor tom higher than the rack tom is it not?
The second Ft is actually a Ballad snare/Tom it's tuned a third below the rack and a fourth above the first Ft.
What sizes are the snare drums?
5.5x14, 10x16 & 10x14
What size is the kick?
14"x18"
My Dream!!!

We've offered birch shells for many, many years.

We just filmed one that will be out soon. :-)
I'd like to see birch in the Performance Series.

Why are dws do expensive? $2000 is like the cheapest I've seen.
We actually offer drums for every budget. store.dwdrums.com/c/dw-design-series
Out of tune! 🌐
