Playing with the sound files could be fun. RC enthusiast have devices to make their models have different sound effects. A P38 or a jet would be fun. Don't think there is enough enclosure volume to get much bass though.
The control module is located in the lower part of the former stick shift console - now often referred to as "PRND console"! You can just remove it without causing any errors.
Thanks for the input. I'm not getting any "errors". But, if this "control module" is just for the APWS, then i'll shed some more dead weight, if I remove that too.
Well, you will only safe 130 g, though. Not worth the effort. My sentence "You can just remove it without causing any errors." was a statement, since I already removed it in my car. And yes, this module is only for the APWS. It's clearly stated on its label.
The effort is very similar for both solutions. At first I only knew about the speaker, so first I unplugged it, then I completely removed it and now I found the control module by coincidence. So now I'm the first owner of a 500e that has only a few wires left in the car from the stupid APWS. Cheers from Germany!
Also very much interested, I think I'm just going to reverse engineer the "Control module-front pedestrian alert", been looking for a cheap one to mod, as my states laws require me to have one and I don't want to break mine. FYI Supplier: 45301s, Part #: 05091205aa, Panasonic part: EAA095a, S/N 095a0002017
@@romanovi444 yep yep, I have it wired up but the shiftier signal sometimes misses so I have to put it into neutral before drive, I built everything from scratch, started with a smaller pic32 system then a circuit playground, currently using an Arduino Uno with a SPI SD card reader, a EK1236 amp and a 399-EM1-2U1S-ND rely(to get shiftier signals), still not looking at the cars speed yet. When I'm ~happy with the build I'll post all the details on my github and ill post a link here.
Jokingly or seriously? I imagine that the CPU still sends out the noise signal, but of course the speaker is not receiving it anymore. Don't know how many watts it was using. I don't think it was like a 1,000 watt system. 🙂
it was a joke ...did you remove the back seats ? funny storie when i bought my fiat 500e i bought my over weight friend and the salesman won't let us take a test drive alone ..my friend and salesman fighting over the frount seat..almost ending in a fist fight ..ruff words exchanged
Seems like you would run someone over in the target parking lot and they would have grounds for a lawsuit. But the vehicle is designed for California and they have to put warnings on everything.
I really appreciate your videos. You have helped me out a lot with my 500e. Thank you!
Thanks. 😀
Me and 500e thank you for eye opening changes. 🤙🏽
Unplugged it, love that it’s always quiet now

I don't know which is easier to do, but they both achieve the same result. If you want to lose another 460g, do what I did. Cheers,

any Fiat technician that knows how to alter the sound file, please contact me $.
T50Japan I’m super interested in modifying the sound file.
The control module is a Panasonic part - made in China.

@@CarterFrost did you modified that sound?

Can someone tell me how to do this on the 2024 500e
I would like to make my 500e sound like the Hyundai Ioniq Electric's pedestrian warning system.
do you gain any power ..removing it ...range ?

Do you know if there is a way to deactivate this without physically disconnecting or removing it? Like pulling a fuse?
@@ml71tube The fuse is connected the the Body control module so you would loose High beams and Fog lights among other things.
5-6 feet more range
just did this to mine! so awesome!
ill be doing this
