I used to cry while listening because I missed my old life so much. I got clean and sober a while later and I've never looked back longingly to those days. So glad this song helped me choose life.

I taped it while I was on Guard Duty at the Motor Pool as I sat in the Guard Shack.I hated being in the Army because I was away from my late wife Laurie Ann Miller.She worked at a non transferable job at Bell Core Tech. in Lisle Illinois but lived in Aurora Illinois so she couldn't Transfer so we could live off post her and her daughter and I in Ft Riley Kansas between 1985 and 1988 when I finally ETS'd out ( End of term in service ) I'm a Guitar player and a Bass player and singer/composer. I'm not famous I'm local and homeless. I live with my younger sister now because I lost my home to neighbors who conned me out of it. Anyway music has always helped me keep my spirits up and this Dire Straits song Walk Of Life helped me keep my spirits up. I love the guitar playing on this song and the vocals. Great song. I just got done listening to it at 11:57 pm stuck here in Carpentersville Illinois away from friends and my new girlfriend who lives in Rochester New York.
