Watched quite a few forestry videos on YT. First time I've seen a bore cut into a face cut. Makes total sense on a big tree. Always learn something watching the pros at work. Thanks for the video!
Oh boy, you guys got into somethin this time Gordy! That's a forearm workout there boys, especially the 661 with a full weight 42...........make a man of ya quick. Can't wait for the next installment, safe cuttin team
@westcoastsaw1368 everyone has had that enjoyment at some time or another, and it's good to show the world how much joy it can be on the spruces. Good, bad or otherwise, I look forward to all of em
Hot saws and Humboldt cuts. Yeah buddy! Reminds me of working out west years ago. I didn't run saw except for firewood. My tiny saw still helped heat the house.
Those growth rings are huge! I dropped an oak a few weeks ago, 32" in diameter, and it was over 120 years old. I can't imagine having trees that grow as quickly as those.
You guys are so serious all the time...I get that...dangerous. Maybe crack a joke once or twice.....tease each other.....lighten the mood!!! Sheesh!!! 😜 Cool video.
I have dropped some massive oaks and maples back in the days of my felling and even some today, but nothing like those ginormous spruce you guys were felling, that would be a blast! Any idea of how old those trees were? Thank you for sharing another great video with us Gordy!
It's crazy how fast these things grow. I've seen clear cuts of 8' diameter trees that were only 80 year old, second growth on the north Oregon coast where i hunt elk
Down here those big horny ones would be shipped straight to the chip yard. I hate that big coastal spruce. Smells like Elmer’s glue but it’s pretty tough
@@spencerstockwell Pulp pays more than $100/mbf... maybe you were saying the loggers were getting $100/mbf... Just looked it up Util Spruce is $400mbf. Its gone up ~70% no wonder they are finally cutting those wolf trees.

A cannon bar just looks good on stihls or huskys and rigid n heavy duty as I’ve used…man what some limby limbersons…
So do you guys have to modify the Oilers on your saw with the longer bars?
Dang
Is that a 41 inch cannon bar at 2:34?
Yea
What are they going to use to get these logs out?
Yikes! That next ones gonna be a monster.
Been curious lately what bar oil and 2 stroke oil do you run Gordy?
Not so bad with the soft wood, not like cutting hardwood
Bless Enjoying video. What kind of radios do you'll have? Thanks 😊
Motorola’s
How did you convert the caps on the 044 rom the OG screw on to the twist cap style?
I don’t have any way of doing that although I have thought about it, just haven’t came up with anything
