Gordy, I love watching your videos. I look every time I get on the TV youtube for your videos, what I was surprised is I have to check to make sure I'm subscribed because a lot of the time it shows I'm not. Not sure why you make awesome videos,I learn a lot about saws, dropping trees, just can't wait to see more, keep up the amazing work.
Second growth is a ton of fun if the ground is in your favour and you have a fast saw 👍 It’s cool seeing 3’+ trees going down all day but fast paced 18”-24”+ production falling is it’s own extreme sport.
Gordy, I have cut on hillsides before and I can honestly say that your video should be changed to Mountain Side, as always another great video, thanks for sharing with us!
If I’m trying to send timber as far down the hill as possible, I’ll use a narrow conventional face cut. It keeps the butt off the ground longer, letting the momentum from the top pull the entire tree down the hill.
Gidday ! Um in New Zealand we have always been taught to cut ya scarf from the top first I know maybe it doesn't make much difference!! Buy when you're in a good stand and there's no wind swirling utillising left and right hinge wood we are told not to use hinge wood as a directional tool which sucks because as a good ole bushman knows it's the only way to control felling !! Oh yeah and it's reasonable Oregon cheers mate. Good on ya it's dream country!!!
Probably an emissions thing. I have one and honestly not a fan. Had to modify both spouts. And can't really tell how much gas is in it...when it only holds 1.5 gal and you put a gal in to make sure you have ratio mix right. Have to make sure almost empty or empty to refill bc can't tell how much is in it. 2 or 2.5 gal can I think works best. I can tell how much is in it. Idk to each their own
hello there greetings from the Philippines, have you ever watched any of the east coast logging videos? Some of those guys don't use any kind of safety equipment at all, no gloves no hard hat no safety caulks no wedges. and some of the comments I read is really interesting.. get a chance watch some . Its a wonder they don't get killed or injuried
Omg you think walkin through that little brush is bad you should seen us cut gasline row with wedeaters with blades and 250s after crew clear cut whole mountain for surface mine and left everything Cris crossed for few hot summer months…neck deep with regrowth all in the timber and snakes could be lookin you in the eye it was so scary..and take allday go few foot so we said fk it….eastern Ky…104 today and I don’t miss the days like that now I’m in a ice cold hospital doin electrical…
Love your videos in the mountains with big saws and trees!
Good to see precision cutting and not a cheap Chinese crappy saw in sight!😊

We are going to try and get it at the end of the month 🤞
Nice work!! Looked like a great time
It was!
Love the videos and your products you have out thanks from Alaska
Awesome! Thank you!
My favorite TH-cam channel!!!
That saw sounds nasty!💪
Well done! The 500i is a fine saw. Without gas consumption like an old V8 and the extremly dirty airfilter it would be perfect.
Second growth is a ton of fun if the ground is in your favour and you have a fast saw 👍

Look forward to the upcoming chainsaw and chain talk, Gordy!
I definitely look forward to learning more about chain types and which to use when!
Gordy, I have cut on hillsides before and I can honestly say that your video should be changed to Mountain Side, as always another great video, thanks for sharing with us!
Noted!
I never seen a chain go back on like that!! Ive been missing out!
Yea give it a try life changing 😁

That makes alot of sence mate 💯
Love your videos Gordy
Amazing work ❤
Great video brother!

Saw chain is on point
They say the camera flattens everything out......but you looked like you were almost vertical!! Good video. Have a good week!
great job
Thank you.
More trees on the ground more money in the pocket 😂
Stealing my trees lol nah just keepin the wood flyin 😂
My favorite part is the transcript, when the saw is running it says music is playing. Well it is music.
Your dam right there
@@LJ_Adventure79yes it is!
Let's go!
the chain flying off🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 terrible!
Fark that saw rips!!!!!
In softwood trees, it had better.
Nice cutting, what muffler cover does Garret run on his 500?
What do you think dingus?
Used to log in Wa. years ago back in the 80's and 90;s. small outfit.
@westcoastsaw1368 that prototype Borntrager axe looks good. Will you be offering that on your site? I would love to get my hands on one.
👍
People complain about the gas consumption of the 500i. Which uses more gas in a day of production cutting. The 500i or a 661?
Hi Gordy.
What kind of gloves do you use ?
Thank you.
Looks like raker depth was near-perfect and you went right up to the line without crossing it and being too aggressive. Do you remember the depth?
That chain was about at half life and it was at .035
Are these being yarded tree length?
Why did Briggs&Stratton quit making the steel combo cans.?

They wouldn’t tell us and I can’t find any other cans to replace it they would sell us anything here in the US 🤬
@westcoastsaw1368 I might be able to get a hold of a few for you. Pretty sure my local shop has some.
@@westcoastsaw1368 thank you.
so why don't you run the air filter stack anymore?
Because I am testing something under the hood 😉
@@westcoastsaw1368 ohhh i see!
Is that a new muffler plate on garrets saw

😮😮😮😮
I’d like see you do a old 394 like mine and use it some…rich done it 11-12yrs ago and you can go figure…it’s nasty
Thinning 😂
That's more of a selective cut... I'm guessing they weren't worried about skinning trees up the way that was fell...

@ $100 a tree, good day's income!
