Good stuff dude. I haven’t seen it all.
Dad was a foreman at H and H towing in Blythe, Ca, in the 1950’s. Later became a auto shop teacher at Hawthorne Hi and came in second at the National’s for diagnostic’s. I’ve been twisting wrenches over 60 years.
Love your vidieos. Lmao!

There should be an episode just dedicated to: the shop declined to do any work!
I wish there was "shop refused to release the unsafe vehicle" because damn some of these cars are death traps waiting to happen.
Give them a card with the nearest trauma center on it. "You're going to need this soon."
the amount of "customer declined repairs and drove home" is frickin scary.
Some are just, literally how!?
Lol someone's never been broke.

Having heard about the labour rates some "garages " and "dealers" charge for what can only be described as sub standard "repairs " I can see why some customers decline further work, but.....some of these examples are worthy of getting out the credit card and sucking it up.

Oh, I'd be giving that mechanic bill to my pranking mate, with cream on top.
There are 2 main types of people: Those who won't spend money to repair catastrophic problems, and those who'll pay a shop investigate an absolutely minor issue that take 10sec of LOOKING to figure out.
And the 3rd are the people who do maintenance on their own vehicles but know what they are doing
And there are americans..............
Two types of 'entertaining' customers. You'd get plenty of regular normal customers. I'm no mechanic but in my field it's about... O.5% of all customers.
I've watched lot of these videos from this channel and must say, You Americans are some of the dumbest mofo's on the planet and absolute tight arses when comes to repairs.
There's 5 types of people
The ones who get told all the catastrophic issues wrong with their vehicle and deny the work
The ones who bring in the vehicle for everything, they're mostly user errors
The ones who don't get their vehicle done right so it's halfassed
The ones who get lied to about the purchase
The Normies who don't appear on this show
The guy that needs the fuel pump. He's going to save thousands having his friends push his car all over the place.

It's absolutely amazing what people will do to their own vehicles and not repair them the way they were designed 🤦🤦🤦. I know first hand bc I worked at a Firestone in the Tampa area.
I can understand not being mechanically inclined, but the number of people complaining about the smell of something they themselves put in the car really blows my mind. "Hey, I put a jug of gas in my car, now I smell gas. Car must be broke." Wow.
Worse yet so many cars burn down because people ignore the smell of fuel
The abhorrent deduction skills by the customers displayed by this channel are truly frightening, I think the brains of the people are more frightening than the cars with no brakes.
Or how you don't connect "function doesn't work properly/activates when bumped" with "check the control"
@@renakunisaki this one I can get, honestly anyone over 50 probably has to wear cheaters to see those buttons so it’s not surprising one might miss what it’s for or the fact that it was being pressed accidentally.

Reminds me of "Fat Albert was given the hulk of a '49 Mercury without an engine in it. He went out and bought a Cessna airplane engine, and put it in the Merc."
Back in the 80's, I had a Ford Granada that was in really tough shape and had been used hard. When I brought in for repairs one time, the mechanic who was a good friend told me "You need to take the radiator cap and put it on a new car, then replace the radiator cap." It was time to get rid of the $200 car.
In germany we'd say, "Oil change? I recommend keeping the oil and change the car instead."

@@jp-ty1vd I bought a 78 Granada for $200 from a P.O. It quit on the way home, so i had it towed. It had water in the gas tank, so... dropped the tank, drained it and bolted it back up. Once that was done I drove the car 3 years and sold it for $800. It treated me well.

That actually happened to my parents in Australia. The only way to get at it would have been to dismantle the entire dashboard assembly, which they didn't want to do --- it was the 1960s --- so they just had to live with it until it dried up and blew out the vent with the fan on max.

I'm just hoping these people that don't get repairs are just doing it because payday isn't for a week or so.
I'm sure at least some of these cases are people needing diagnostics. Like the fuel pump guy, that's not a hard job but it can be expensive.
When I'm unsure what's wrong I'll pay a mechanic to find the issue, then if it's something I can fix, I fix it. You can save a lot that way, but it isn't doing the shop many favors. I'll almost always specify that I'm after diagnostics not repairs.
@@karalyzel3177 So you are being honest with the shop that you want a little of their help, but don't want to afford all of their help. Cool. At least someone out there is trying. So many people now just can't figure out ways to screw people fast enough.

Every time I watch one of these videos I think about how I started hearing a weird squeaking noise in my car. It was strange and metallic, a rhythmic little sound that happened SOMETIMES when I steered left or right, but not always! I was worried there was something wrong in the steering column, until one day when I listened carefully... And noticed the sound was coming from higher up. Greetings from 🇯🇵. Every time I see 🇺🇸's crazy "customer state", I am reminded of the significance of the national vehicle inspection system in Japan, which is enforced every two years. This is a great educational video for Japanese people as well🤣
I'm from Germany. Our TÜV is also responsible for car inspection. I'm afraid to see what is possible if a country doesn't have something like that
@@Splicher In the case of a country where there is no certification inspection system, in the used car market in countries where the system exists, vehicles that would otherwise only be treated as "parts cars" or "objects" because they cannot be recertified will be circulating as "abnormally cheap cars" 😱
However, that doesn't mean that such used cars "never come on the market" in Japan either. There are rare cases where unnaturally cheap cars exist despite there still being some time left on the validity period of the certification, and among these cars there are some "with frames so rusty that it is impossible to continue obtaining certification" 😇
@@Splicher If there is no certification inspection system in a country, in the used car market in a country where the system exists, vehicles that would normally be treated as "parts cars" or "objects" because they cannot be recertified will be circulated as "abnormally cheap cars" 😱
However, this does not mean that such used cars will never be sold in Japan. There are rare cases where unnaturally cheap cars exist even though the certification validity period remains to a certain extent, and among such cars, there are some whose frames are so rusty that they cannot be recertified.😇
In addition, although there are fewer of them now due to strengthened monitoring and crackdowns, it was also true that among private companies that conduct certification inspections with the approval of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, there were unscrupulous companies that issued fraudulent certifications without inspecting the actual vehicle body, only through document review and "fabricated inspection photos (a method of repeatedly using evidence photos of the same vehicle that has been legitimately certified)". In extremely malicious cases, the VIN number was replaced with the entire body panel, or a method of copying it by unauthorized stamping was also used. Until about 25 years ago, when the manga "Initial D" was popular, this was used as an illegal method to "recirculate" stolen cars or classic cars whose VIN numbers had been lost.😱

He was using 2 pillows on the drivers side because the seat cushion rotted away ( he could not roll up the driver's side window so it stayed open). One day he was taking his grand daughter with him and when he turned left, the passenger door flew open and the girl fell out. Good thing he was driving slow and that girl was pretty tough escaping with just few scratches.
If my Dad put my daughter in such an irresponsibly maintained vehicle, he'd have a broken leg as well as a broken door latch. If he doesn't have the money to repair it, he has a responsibility to not use it. Too many people think only about themselves.
