Good to see the southern Avoca male doing so much better now ❤ he went through so much after his brother was killed and didn't looked good for a long time! The Kambula males looks impressive with their ginger Manes ❤ Looking forward to next episode 😊🙏
Don't forget the Kambula ladies have been known to assist their Kings in conflict. Most of the Kambulas are subadults (21 no and 15 month) I believe they only have one set of true cubs but those look lionesses will protect their cubs and subadults and need to be added to the equation. When I think of lionesses fighting newcomers - I think of Kambulas, Mhangeni's and Mayanbulas.
Amazing info, great and strong coalitions all over the place. What a place to be, Londolozi! Also where is the info of the Nkuhlu males down to 5 from?
One hasn’t been seen in months. He was in bad condition when last seen. The 7th member was an older unrelated male who disappeared after being attacked. All this happened in the Kruger.
@@rachellehenson5568 actually no all 6 brothers were accounted for BY GUIDES but indeed one wasn't seen in terms of PICTURES... No pictures of him shared for 4 months... Going to 5. The Nhkulu males have already shown their strength when they conquered the SandRiver pride!! Now they have become real beasts and have the numbers on their side..I think they have gained a lot of self-confidence by entering the heart of the Nhdzenga brothers' territory! I hope they return to their territory for now..There are tons of cubs in the central sector and if there were to be any fights, it would be carnage!!!!
Hope the Kambula/Ntsevus have a good future ahead of them. All that lighter hair, these guys are near full growth now. Mfumo (Birmingham) really must have sired a few of these guys. No, we DON'T know that for sure, but .... Have to get a recent look at the one still with Nkuhumas. One of these guys mated with an Imbali pride lioness not too long ago. Would be good genes-wise, Nkuhuma pride isn't great for this, of course.
The Nkuhlu males have the numbers to do serious damage, but they're not overly confident and they're still very young males at only 5 years old. I would expect them to pack on some size in the next year or so,given what their Plains Camp and Mantimahle half brothers look like. I would say the Ndzhenga males have a very strong hold on Londolozi. I don't see them losing their grip in the next 6-12 months, unless a coalition from left field makes a play for their territory.
I hate large collations for that very reason. so many great solo and paired Kings will end up short. Vuyela males have dominated most of Timbavati; younger Birmingham breakaways (now seen as 3+2), Mayanbulas males and Nkuhula males can cause serious trouble once they gain confidence if they stay together. Ross males definitely losing Birmingham pride, I fear RRM's great reign may end soon too unless he joins his sons.
@@sillygirl3284 Lions as a species have evolved to be social cats,so numbers are essential for survival. You take the good with the bad. Actually Mohawk is smart and avoids t them and had spent entire summer on vacation with Nkhumas., Kambilas doon’t mess with S Avoca either.
Hi LGR. That clip fascinated me. I hope the 2 remaining big Ndhzenga males will stick around long enough to ensure that all of their cubs survive to independence and adulthood. Despite being just the 2 of them left, I don't know how they manage to assert their dominance over the Kambula, and Ntsevu prides together. However, as they were both elsewhere with one or both of those prides, they won't know they've had 2 new Nkhulu males from a coalition of 5 roaming about and trespassing in their territory on Londolozi. I'm sure the next time they're seen, they'll be busy scent marking their land as well as walking and roaring to tell other male lions that it's their land and their not allowed to be trespassing in it. That big giraffe carcass will keep the new Nkhulu males busy and well get for a good few days or so. Wouldn't it? Their is just a hell of a lot of meat on the kill. I know they'd kill any cubs they haven't sired together if they just dare to come across any of the boys don't recognise as their own at all. I know the biological fathers and the mothers of the vulnerable cubs will do everything they can to make sure all of their cubs are safe, alive, and well. The two Ndhzenga males won't tolerate any new arrivals in their land. Especially as they know their job is to keep other rouge male lions well out of their territory. They've clearly got their work cut out and paws full to keep both of their prides all safe so that they can survive for many more years to come and go. The last living Southern Avoca male has teamed up with a big Kruger male lion to keep him company, now that his only twin and litter mate brother was sadly killed earlier this year by some other male lions in the Kruger National Park. So, those two old veterans are not related at all to each other. But if they keep and look after each other there, then it'll be very interesting to see how much longer they'll live for. It's sad that the one remaining Southern Avoca male's brother was killed by other male lions in the KNP earlier this year, but he to was obviously trespassing in the territory of some other dominant male lions bit was caught out and it cost him his life unfortunately. I expect the minute he realised he was outnumbered and well outmuscled, the only thing he really wanted to do was go back to his twin brother for help and support. Didn't he? And as for the three new big boys last in the clip, if they're 3 of the 4 large Ntsevu males, then it'll be interesting to see what they'll do next together. I hope you will get a lot more visits from them in the future years to come and go. They're such a formidable force to be reckoned with and respected. I know they've been spending time with the Nkuhuma pride, but I'm sure they'll venture onto your property occasionally from time to time. Won't they? In the future, whenever you see them there, I hope to see a big buffalo hunt in action from the 4 formidable powerful boys altogether one night or day. But I know darkness does work in their favour for a hunt like that to be successful. They have given and provided some incredibly exciting viewing in past times when they've hunted the powerfully and very dangerous buffalo together with their sister, who's now living and spending time with the young Styx male. I think she quite enjoyed going out with them on hunts jointly. It remains to be seen what will happen to or with her in future months and years ahead, as we don't know if she'll ever be accepted back into her former old birth pride at all. Or she might end up being in a similar situation to the Tsalala lioness and start raising her own cubs single handly. I don't know what you think will happen to or with her in the future. But I hope she'll get accepted into either the Kambula or Ntsevu pride very soon one day. She will need protection and safety if she's to raise her own cubs in the future successfully. Hope to hear from you shortly. Robert 27.10.24

Before Human intervention the Mapogos controlled all this as 6 males and over 11 prides. no other coalition comes close to that dominance. Birmingham's were pretty good and Matimbas were as well.
Just hope the rest of the Nkulus don't show up here; let 'em stay in KNP, lots of opportunities, especially for larger coalitions. Definitely don't need any more Mapogo nonsense/destruction in Sabi Sands. I hope some of the settled dominant pairs of males during the last couple of years last another couple of years. Would be great for the lion gene pool in Sabi Sands if some of the daughters of the reigning males grow up and pass along a good genetic mix, not inbreeding.
