@atomdragon4 actually its not THAT small of a difference. You can tell as you start playing your music collection again after a little bit of equalizing....you hear stuff that wasnt there before. This is just a small part of what it takes to get the job done correctly though.
Ive installed a ton of systems but i couldnt imagine workin with stuff like this, your stuff is a whole new level compaired to what ive seen, keep up the great work luv your vids!
I'm the guy that was in your live a while back and i said I have focal amps with punch pro components. You said it probably doesnt sound good. I just installed the dsr1 sir and it sounds amazing for pro speakers. I was just going back to see how you tuned yours. I had my tweets on bandpass. I fixed it. I've been following you since the beginning.
I didn't say that. I have no reason to unless there is more to the story. I have no Idea who you are or what you are talking about. Why did you come to a 14 year old video to tell me that? lol
this has got to be one of the most coolest and informative vids you have done that is a trip you can adjust your eq from a laptop and get it accurate not the old ehh sounds good to the ear adjustments sweet!
well steve other than the rebuild vid you did with the doors i must say bro this is the most informative an most intriguing vid you have done since first subscribed to your page. job well done my fellow basshed i look forward to your next vid when you do a far off vid of all the mids an highs playing after all this. i must say also i may end up gettining one of these for my car i really like how you show how it works. keep them coming bro. 5 stars all the way.
@quadbassblaster i am a project engineer for a commercial roofing company for over 19yrs now.....and i am also a youtube partner and google adsense publisher. My wife has a great job too. I get to have fun but its still a lot of work!
@Andy2theE you dont know what was given and what i bought......even if i get something free here and there, i spent 10's of thousands of dollars before i got any discounts......
@matt360829 i have 11 amps, 30 speakers all of which operate in groups of different frequencies. You can just hook your shit up and go for it if you want.....you will have much different results though.
this reli does make a difference tbh, i done a tune using the audison software on the audison bit one processor at the audio company i worked at. the difference is actually hearable. good job tho man, love all the vids im hopeing to do a crazy project in my car when i can afford it :)
@stockleyrod the more overlap, the smoother the transition from one speaker to another. you're supposed to listen to a SYSTEM not a bunch of speakers put together. i haven't done many crossovers but on the 12db/oct passive ones i did, playing with the caps (which in effect adjusts the slope) resulted in noticeable sonic differences, and esp on a tweeter, a higher cutoff point with a smoother slope sounds better than lower cutoff with sharper slope.
By far the best video you have done that I have seen, makes me want a 360.2 EQ now. You most definitely sold me on it for sure. Will it be up for SOTM on your forum as a prize anytime soon? :P
wow, i mean i subbed to you ages ago man and i love your vids, however, i often find theres some times where i dunno wtf you are talking about when you start using all your technical speak :P but this video, DAYYYYYUM start to finish i genuinly had no clue :L anyway great vids man keep um coming (Y)
Awesome, I've been playing with this 360.2 on my laptop all week er 2 weeks lol. I love it. And I know how hard it is to keep the video time down, still good to watch. And when can I hear the Tahoe?
HEY BRO MY NAME IS DARRION FROM NEW YORK AND IM A BIGG FANN OF YOUR WORK AND YOUR VIDEOS. IM SOO CUROUS TO HEAR HOW THA SYSTEM SOUNDS I HOPE ONE DAY I CAN HEAR THA SYSTEM AND I LIKE THA LEXUS 2 !!!!!!
Why do you have insane overlap on your crossovers? Like a 4 inch midrange playing down to 150hz and up to 2750hz? while your 8" play up to 400hz and then a 6.5" playing 70 to 2khz? thats 6 speakers playing the 150hz to 400hz freq range. I promise those 4inch mids will sound less stressed with a higher crossover. Why don't you try tightening up those Xovers. say; Subs 20hz to 80hz 8" = 80hz to say 315hz 6.5" = 315hz to 1200-1500hz 4" = 1200ish to 6khz then the tweets 6khz and up. Just a thought
@ticonderoga16 nah, you want all frequencies to sound equal, so that you don't have loud peaks or dips. You want to hear all frequencies equal to eachother (in this kinda system)
@meade916 u seem like a giving person cant give to everyone and thats cool you are living the dream with out being crazy famous like a movie star u can still go out and enjoy life without too much drama
i understand how this all works now, but how do you find a reference point? do you average out the frequency range through the display from the pink noise (think thats what you called it) and then just determine from that where everything should be, or is there a set range the each speaker should be hitting at each frequency level? sorry if my question is confusing, im just really curious
Hello Mr Maede. I am French thus I apologize for my risky language. I would have liked knowing how you made to connect 2 Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.2? Because for the high-level you have not 8 of it (even 10). You couple the exits(releases) together? Bravo for all that you make, I adore your sound systems, really upper upscale, so much which I am totally to let seduce by the mark(brand) Rockford Fosgate and which I am going to equip totally my BMW with it. Thank you.
I know you tweaked the gains with the o-scope, but is there any protection on the tweets? I'm kinda old school still, I still do the old cap/bulb trick.
hey steve that 3sixty only works for the rockford prodocts meaing would it work better with rockford products??? or u can use that with any brand amps and components and get the same results?????
@meade916 Thank you. I had it a 30hz and i couldnt hear it with different song. I tested and it actually sound better. I hit most hi, but i hit all the lows good.
HEy Steve i just bought a exactly 3Sixty.2 unit like your one my question is do i have to use the center input im a little bit lost on that center one do i have to use it? or not?..
Dude... you just saved my world with this video. I have a audison bit one 8 channel and the people that installed it did a shit job. Everything was flat like a am station and I was hot, not to mention that the DRC was broken. Hell on fire just talking about it. I'm going to grab the Rockford 360 DSP. After watching this video you made it simple to figure it out. Only thing is that I dont have a RTA. Any suggestions?
Hey i have a question. I have 2 subs and each coil are 4 ohm. If i wire them in parallel it will give me 2 ohm, but i want to get the most of my amp and wire it a 1 ohm. And i want to know if i buy a 2 ohm resistor and parallel it to my subs making it 1 ohm. I want to know if my amp would mess up? And it that would work, can you tell me how many watts i should get of a resistor?
I know this is off topic from your video, but i thought you will reply since its your latest video. I have a pair of subs in a ported box tuned to 28hz-120hz and i know the lower the hz is for the low, but i want to know what hz should i tune the amp to hit most note? I like low note, but i still want to hit some hi. Any suggestion?
How often does this have to be done?......I mean will you have to re- tweek it after u have been bumpin the system for a few months or once its done its done??
wondering.... the rta, does it measure the volume coming out of the speakers or the volume how you're hearing it? thinking of that a woofer needs to play louder so you can hear it as loud as a midrange or tweeter...or am I wrong?
steve, question, if ur ipod is hooked up 2 ur system from tha bottom of the ipod not tah audio jack, but by usb, what eq setting on tha ipod should i put it on?
@meade916 hard work pays off and your a prime example of it. thats why i'm holding off on all the goodies in life they will eventually come through....nice shit though you have made me want a 360.2 BAD!!
nahh. You should never move a slider on an EQ high enough to introduce distortion. If anything you find low spots and CUT around them rather than boost around peaks to even it out (if that makes sense).
I know this is an OLD video, but something struck my eye. Something that the normal human, or your ear probabbly doesn't even notice. But I noticed you have nothing covering the 2750hz- 3000hz range. Whys that? Your tweets start at 3000hz of course, and the 4s are set to 2750. Think adjusting either one lower or higher would really mess with your sound quality?
@delvinmacmillen18 look up the specs on your speakers and your amp. if either doesn't support that little resistance i wouldn't do it. it's not the amp you should worry about, it's the speakers. less ohms = less resistance/more power exerted on the speakers (possibly blowing them out). more ohms = more stress on the amp. i've never heard of using a resistor in place of speakers before. you would need two more speakers to reduce the resistance. you should ask a professional to help you.
ok so your a project engineer for a commercial roofing company for over 19yrs and you are also a youtube partner and google adsense publisher. how did you get so good at designing and installing car audio? thats a whole other field...
Rockford dropped the ball by not sending out an update to be able to use todays smart phones or latest windows programs on this unit. It's obsolete now.
@atomdragon4 actually its not THAT small of a difference. You can tell as you start playing your music collection again after a little bit of equalizing....you hear stuff that wasnt there before. This is just a small part of what it takes to get the job done correctly though.
@jjlwis this is for RTA/SQ not SPL - you are probably thinking of the SPL sensors.
@gfhnk everything below is cut off. Better lower that some because there is too much material below 40hz you would miss out on.
Simply amazing man, I cannot believe how technological the car audio world has gotten.
Ive installed a ton of systems but i couldnt imagine workin with stuff like this, your stuff is a whole new level compaired to what ive seen, keep up the great work luv your vids!
This video is badass, no other video I could find anywhere has been able to explain the 3Sixty like this one does. Thanks dude.
I'm the guy that was in your live a while back and i said I have focal amps with punch pro components. You said it probably doesnt sound good. i had no idea that this much work has to go into a system like this; eventhough, ive never heard it in person still im highly impress steve
@southernsavage1 soon, i just got new tires and 2" drop springs on the way......any day now.
this has got to be one of the most coolest and informative vids you have done that is a trip you can adjust your eq from a laptop and get it accurate not the old ehh sounds good to the ear adjustments sweet!

@delvinmacmillen18 i usually put mine between 80 and 90
@Andy2theE you dont know what was given and what i bought......even if i get something free here and there, i spent 10's of thousands of dollars before i got any discounts......
I was just thinking about how sick your vids are and your builds, got me thinking.. damn your son is gonna have a sick whip when he starts driving.
@matt360829 i have 11 amps, 30 speakers all of which operate in groups of different frequencies. You can just hook your shit up and go for it if you want.....you will have much different results though.

@stockleyrod 6khz on tweets? 1200-6khz on 4's? no thanks.
@jeffy123ification a lot, if you konw how to use it. It doesnt work magic by itself :)
Now You are just fine tuning the sound with the processors, Kool
oh man it's so awesome, you can get perfect sound...
I'm abroad and missed my speakers so much..
Sound quality is everything.
@meade916 I gotta good eye! You completely inspired me to get into car audio, even though I can't drive yet.
You keep Impressing me I love watching your vids thanks man for givingg me something to actually enjoy haha
Awesome, I've been playing with this 360.2 on my laptop all week er 2 weeks lol. I love it. And I know how hard it is to keep the video time down, still good to watch. And when can I hear the Tahoe?
@basshedz06 thanks bro!!! much appreciated.
Aye Steve, great vid.. You should find a way to use this eq tweaking as a side job..helping others get their sound right..
at the very beginning when he walks over to the computer what is on the stand between the catilac and the tahoe. It looks like a black sub box.
@Andy2theE who says anything was given to me? someday when someone gives me everything it WILL be real nice im sure!
Why don't you try tightening up those Xovers. say;
Subs 20hz to 80hz
8" = 80hz to say 315hz
6.5" = 315hz to 1200-1500hz
4" = 1200ish to 6khz
then the tweets 6khz and up.
Just a thought
3sixty.2 looks awesome like that but wonder if new 3sixty.3 is much better? and more expensive?
Hi Steve,
please tell me which cam you use to record all this great vid´s...?!
Damn Steve thats some good shxt you got going on. I like the way those 360's work. Good info video.
hey steve, keep up the good work. how mite one go about getting the test-tones you use on your tahoe?
@ticonderoga16 nah, you want all frequencies to sound equal, so that you don't have loud peaks or dips. You want to hear all frequencies equal to eachother (in this kinda system)
@meade916 ahhh yeah i just realized that once i clicked "reply" ... what's the new mic for SPL then?
@ebrewer2224 thats the second time i heard that and i thought the same exact thing LOL - Steve Barker in the house!
@meade916 u seem like a giving person cant give to everyone and thats cool you are living the dream with out being crazy famous like a movie star u can still go out and enjoy life without too much drama
Cool :D that RTA screen on the right looks cool when you talk :)
i understand how this all works now, but how do you find a reference point? do you average out the frequency range through the display from the pink noise (think thats what you called it) and then just determine from that where everything should be, or is there a set range the each speaker should be hitting at each frequency level? sorry if my question is confusing, im just really curious
I had no idea anything like this existed. I feel as if I've been touched by God, so amazing!
Hello Mr Maede.

Damn can't wait to hear what it sounds like...
hey and when u gonna be changing out the fi in the caddy for the AA???
I know you tweaked the gains with the o-scope, but is there any protection on the tweets? I'm kinda old school still, I still do the old cap/bulb trick.
@Olskoolbeats LMAO i dont even have to look at that number to know what your talking about hahah!! good one!
why not have the SMD sticker at the top of your windshield wouldnt it look better there?
isnt there a new version ? or a new mic and different mic position ? no more windshield?
nice video. Was really looking for just a factory OEM integration tool, but this is a hella piece of technology.
@kaymoebee if you save the setting, you only have to do it one time. Sounds logic, doesn't it? :P
hey steve that 3sixty only works for the rockford prodocts meaing would it work better with rockford products??? or u can use that with any brand amps and components and get the same results?????
man thats some crazy ass technology.
technology is changing man. its crazy.
So to have it sound good, you want it to be level all across right below the yellow line? Correct me if i'm wrong
question for meade. does your tahoe lay out?? just wonderin ive never seen it completely layed out on the ground.
thats a science lesson right there and nothing else. i need a 360 bad.
@meade916 Thank you. I had it a 30hz and i couldnt hear it with different song. I tested and it actually sound better. I hit most hi, but i hit all the lows good.
@Tonzofuzz How is working hard to get what you want, "spoiled" exactly?
Dude, when steve is taking into the mic, it looks like a robot.
Any projects for that Escalade EXT coming up?
hey steve i have a 2006 Scion Xb and i was to put in some subs. But, i don't want to lose space.. what do you recommend? Love your Vids.
I know this is off topic from your video, but i thought you will reply since its your latest video. I have a pair of subs in a ported box tuned to 28hz-120hz and i know the lower the hz is for the low, but i want to know what hz should i tune the amp to hit most note? How often does this have to be done?......I mean will you have to re- tweek it after u have been bumpin the system for a few months or once its done its done??
thats just plain AWSOME!!!!
wondering....
the rta, does it measure the volume coming out of the speakers or the volume how you're hearing it?
thinking of that a woofer needs to play louder so you can hear it as loud as a midrange or tweeter...or am I wrong?
steve, question, if ur ipod is hooked up 2 ur system from tha bottom of the ipod not tah audio jack, but by usb, what eq setting on tha ipod should i put it on?
do you have to have a big sound system or and so so system to run a 3sixty processor?
hey steve, on the RTA, are you trying to get all the frequencies to be dead center in the green?
so setting all the freq level does it sound better or do u have to go back and tweeq it
Is that microphone just a normal computer mic or is it actually designed for EQ tuning?
hey whats up steve . i was wondering if you kno how i can get some FI BTL or do you sell you old one's bro ?
@meade916 hard work pays off and your a prime example of it. thats why i'm holding off on all the goodies in life they will eventually come through....nice shit though you have made me want a 360.2 BAD!!
Can you please help me to fix a program that will not get into me
you fried my brain on this stuff....
the equalizing has to be done, before setting the gains, right? because otherwise, it could distort at some levels?
nahh. You should never move a slider on an EQ high enough to introduce distortion. If anything you find low spots and CUT around them rather than boost around peaks to even it out (if that makes sense).
Set the gains first.
After the gains, EQ to your preference, than bring the total level down by the highest boosted frequency.
Dude I had the same tower the rub red case I loved that thing.
Is there any other way to set the 3sixty, if u don't have a RTA?
@mwd92 its a Tahoe
Think adjusting either one lower or higher would really mess with your sound quality?
man if i ever get enough money im def bringing my car to you idc how far away you are from me.
@justinkroviak i will tune someones car for a small fee though for sure....i think $50 bucks is fair.
Days to understand that?
ok so your a project engineer for a commercial roofing company for over 19yrs and you are also a youtube partner and google adsense publisher. how did you get so good at designing and installing car audio? thats a whole other field...
Can anyone tell me what rims the Tahoe has?
@justinkroviak its a playground bro :)
was it at a default setting before? never tuned?
Adjusting the amps sounds like a good idea. No point having a system worth more than $10k if it sounds like crap.
Great video man. It seemed very confusing. But after watching the whole vid. I understand what you're doing. I think. Ha Great video. Keep it up.
@meade916 You Should Get Some Lambo Doors On Your Truck It Would Look Clean... Its A Bad Ass Truck By The Way
@scrappy2126000 i no its a tahoe i was talkin bout the one in the back ground
how did you make the 3sixty.2 software work on windows 7 steve?
now that is a smart idea
Rockford dropped the ball by not sending out an update to be able to use todays smart phones or latest windows programs on this unit. It's obsolete now.
