I was into loud systems as a teen ! It’s was awesome days but now 20 years later deaf in one ear and constantly ringing in the other! Wear ear plugs plus ear muffs people don’t be stupid like me and full of regret 20 years down the road 👍
I had that ringing for years. Still have a loud system but never go past 6 on the volume now. I stand outside and out use the remote stork if people want demos. wont risk my ears anymore. I will sell soon.
As a preforming musician I always wear them. Every show, except for when I'm playing (sound on stage us much quieter). But in the crowd I always wear them. And if you invest in good ear plugs, it sounds better with them!
@camshaft... I've been doing this since 92' still have My hearing intact and hears better than most People i know😉 but u are right! Everybody should be wearing protection...
Still doing it today in My spare time plus playing metal drums... 🤘
WHAT?!
Nah just send it I still ain’t heard a system that makes my ears hurt and my cousin has 100K in stereo madness
I like how stuff just floats/vibrates around in the cabs. That's awesome. I'm almost 50 now and back when I was in high school bass was just becoming a thing. Couple people had a couple twelves in their vehicles back then. It has become way more powerful since then.
Is it though? I feel like it peaked here in MI around early 2000s. I remember there used to be shows all the time (went to many in my heyday of car audio). I checked into it not too long ago to maybe go to one for old times sake and there wasn't diddly around here. If i ever did a system now, itd be more SQ haha. Gone are my 150+ db days. Listen to mostly metal and rock now anyhow..
Yea dude it's awesome. Subs out there pushing 6000 Watts a piece now. Unreal
I put a 1200 watt subwoofer and amplifier from Skar Audio in my 2005 Dodge Neon as a project and that thing absolutely blasts! I have to keep it low when I'm in town and when I come home after work but people always stop and stare never expecting such a small car to be so loud. I have so much fun experimenting with sounds and systems in my free time lol.

That's freaking insane !
I have only once in my life since something similar to this at a gas station.
A Swedish guy came to Denmark and I was there at that spot by luck, and he told me he used 20000 $ on his system.
When he turned up the system to the max to showoff for me at the gas station, the roof over us started to fall down piece by piece.
Absolutely amazing !

I love the fact that you can still get excited about other people's systems weather they are just beginning or blowing windshields out. it makes everyone exited when you get excited. and the praise you give everyone for their ingenuity is awesome!
When I went to a top fuel drag race, I got to sit near the front of the stands at the starting line, doubled up with ear protection. The cars would vibrate my vision so everything was blurred for a couple seconds and my whole body shook. Never experienced that raw sound pressure before. Awesome experience.
I love all of the LED work people do! I always put custom LED lighting that I programmed in my setups I install.
I miss the Solo X subwoofers, good memories of a better time in my life. Thank you for showing us all these amazing systems, EXO!

I used to build competition car stereos in the early 90"s. Now I have a ringing in my ears that never stops. It is called tinnitus. Sometimes it drives me crazy. I wish I had never built those crazy loud stereos.
0:58 I've seen this guy in 3 videos so far he literally waves to everyone
Woah. Back in my day (1980s-90s) your goal was two 15” speakers in your trunk bumpin 2 Live Crew & NWA. Apparently the bass game has evolved a bit. 😂😎👍🏼
Exactly! I had four 15" Cerwin Vegas with a Orion 2350 amp playing NWA, Two Live, Too Short, Nemesis, Ron C and Magic Mike!
I had two JLs two amps in the 90s, now I’m having a difficult time hearing anything.
These people need to learn about tinnitus before it's too late. 30 years of loud music, going to concerts and working in construction have left me with constant ringing in both my ears. They have rang for 20 years now. There is no cure for tinnitus, so once it starts they will never know silence again. It can be hellish, believe me. Don't take your hearing for granted.

100% he's suffering massive ear damage
@@nickblank5712 bass doesn’t damage ears whatsoever nor heart muscles
@@Valaak You're absolutely wrong. Not only is it proven from a plethora of sites you could research this, but I've also been to basshead events with lots of people with bad cases of hearing loss 5-6 years after they've been going.
Wear hearing protection. All it takes is some ear plugs to save the vital functioning parts in your ear drum and you can still get your bass feels on the rest of your body
@@nickblank5712, Yeah I agree as well. The decibel level being played will 100% damage ear drums. It's only subharmonic frequencies that do less damage since it's mostly long wave physical pressure but will still do damage over time. There's plenty of research showing that.

Don't know if you've seen this, but if not watch on your TV. Published 4 years ago. Pretty awesome.
how the hell can they even hear anything after all this.. if glass shatters imagine what happens to your ears :S
Easily explained:
A speaker is a mechanical device which vibrates to move air to create frequency’s
You know that. well a subwoofer does the same but it made to move air in way bigger quantities so that it creates a bassy sound
That likes to give of kinetics energy to other things like materials and Bass can’t get very loud because of that feature
It is still possible somehow to get hearing loss just through bsss but it’s very hard.
You get hearing loss through frequencies that can travel far like the ones beginning at 800 hz (Herz)
As these frequencies want to travel and don’t like to give of kinetical energy to other things that’s why they don’t sound so bassy.
If you would hear frequencies over 800 hz very loud and for longer periods of time you would lose hearing quickly
You can test it try listening to low frequencies loud and then high higher frequencies are way way way more uncomfortable and louder
@@adriantaner7950 probs on you my friend
I lost my highs, in one ear, no tweeting, just Bass, 2020.
You are right man u cant they are all crazy
Anything over 85+ Db for anything over 10 minutes will begin to cause hearing damage.
anything over 140+ Db is essentially Instant hearing loss. This doesn't mean the person(s) are immediately made deaf, these cases are known to exist; however most hearing damage will come into effect over time due to the "hairs" in our Cochlea being over worked. They are forced into a shock, and perish. This is how you lose the ability to hear, as parts of the OHC system inside the cochlea are stiffer at the beginning (high freq.), and softer at the end of the tract (low freq.) and are reacting to frequencies in volumes they aren't able to handle.
TL;DR Don't go overboard on DB, try and reach a balance between High mid and low Frequencies and you will retain healthy hearing.
Wow next year my life of a basshead begins with going to shows and participating. Thanks for all the great videos Exo stirred the fire again
