oh, and ya bro it was very nice of them to come out! Its a true honor! not many people can say "brand x" flew out to tune my ride. I just wanted to point out though that i do pay for a lot of stuff and its not just a "free ride". :) The freebies and discounts i do score from time to time were earned though so nothing is truly just "handed" to me. Any relationship (with a company) goes both ways :)
I gotta say man, i just re-watched most of your builds form the ground up, mad respect bro, all your installs are clean, tidy and professional. Keep at the awesome work.
Rockford doesnt "sponsor" me like people think. I get some discounts, i get to try some prototype's before they come out and things like that, but when it comes down to it, 9 times out of ten, i flat out BUY what i need. Ask anyone who know's me, i am the type that insists on paying my own way. Oh ill take a deal or two, dont get me wrong! But when i need something, i don't beg for it, i just buy it. Most of the stuff in this ride, RF didn't know i was doing, i just did it. Thanks man!
the ISF will be at CES with Rockford in the Palms Casino (their booth) in January. The Tahoe was there 3 years ago. The Tahoe would get kicked out of SEMA in 5 minutes if i brought it so that would be a waste. LOL
that song has a killer beginning....the drum and then the dude plucking the bass strings....i don't always reference it but it sure did sound good on the new tuning so i had to use it :)
I didn't realize that your Lexus had that much going on musically. However, I'm extremely impressed. Hope to one day be able to do something similar. And also , long live the memory of Stevie Ray Vaughan. I caught that little sound bit .
Must be nice to be a Rockford sponsor and have them come and pro tune your system. Just love your vids and the things that i have learned from watching your vids.
by the way, you don't "need" this much equipment, a basic RTA, trained ears and an Iasca disc (along with some familiar "SQ" type songs") is all you need for any processor, even the 3sixty.3. I just so happened to get the royal treatment with the badass equipment they brought. I posted it because its pretty interesting shit, but you can use less sophisticated equipment. I usually use a single mic and Termlab RTA.
AZA Forged 3 Piece 20's. Search it on youtube, i showed them being made from the ground up specifically for this car.....from the measurements to the CNC, to the paint, to the RE-Paint (went all black). Its all on YT.
Steve I like the way you get the best sound out of all the gear , anyone one can buy the high end gear but make it sing you are the man good job ,, kjhellboy canada
no sir thank you! you take ur time to build something and then you record every step of it. (videos and pictures) and then u share it with us. thank you sir. i have seen alot of people with amazing cars and amazing stuff but no1 takes their time to share what they have done to it and how they do it.. but you sir. are whole difffrent person. and thank you for that. hope to see you once and ur car is fucking amazing. i got lexus is350 2010. and it was ur vidoes that inspired me to get it!!
if you have a lot more power on your sub then it can handle, in your case double, i would try the 0db track for the deck AND the amplifier. Normally i would use -5 or -10 but in your case you need to back it off some. Keep your eye on it! Thanks man!
wow... so there is no mic included with the 3sixty.3 so we can have an auto correction ? If you don't have this complicated mic setup, how can you tune phase and time correction for each channels ?
Yea, I saw those videos, loved 'em. Hopefully the ceiling will hold up a little better this time! Those white flakes on a black car will be a lot more visible
its not "installed" yet. Its up in the visor. I am testing to see if i like it there and then i am going to mold it in. I ordered a new visor from Lexus so when it gets here, the molding begins. I like it in that spot so far and really, there isn't any place in the dash to put it. I can't block my factory deck i still use it, plus it controls the climate, phone and other shit.
That "Rage Against The Machine" song he is playing @ the end is from one of the best sounding metal albums ever made (their first album), perfect for testing sound systems =)
Well meade thanks for the inspiration! Ive always loved car audio, but watching your vids, i want to do a big build myself, my first one. I have a minor system now that slaps pretty good but nothing to your extent. I got a 1996 Bronco that im goiing to be putting 18s in , if your interested in the build, ill be doing a build thread on your website. Thanks for the inspiration Steve!
I'm not very informed on audio but when I saw the computers I thought, "holy shit, this must sound CLEAN as hell!!!" Talkin' bout clean on some crazy level.
Other than the Rockford Fosgate 3 sixty 3, what would you suggest to use to integrate into the factory oem head unit to after market amps and speakers - example 2014 Ram 1500?
You should change your interior dome lights to blue LEDs. It would compliment the blue rpm needle and the volume lights next to your seat. Plus, it would make your ISF even more sick. Love how it turned out man!
Was not trying to dis you or anything. I know they don't just give you bunch of stuff for free without something in return to help their company. Love what you do just wish you lived closer to the east coast.
I remember you showing us how to do this in the Tahoe a while back, good stuff! What system sounds cleaner between your Lexus and Tahoe, or can you compare them?
@meade916 hey steve what is Rockford Fosgate's target RTA Curve? Or do they have the same target RTA curves as i.e. (Audyssey, Crutchfield, B&K, Audio Control, etc...)
Hey steve i'm a huge fan. I was wonder on the systems diagram u have in the video; what is the unit thing below the radio that the ipad is hooked up to?
Just wondering if the Fosgate guys set the RTA curve to match human hearing threshold? If not just what does your RTA graph look like? Tried to do the same but I just don't have as many EQ bands to work with. lol Nice car too. Great job as always. Would love to send my truck your way.
That is really cool, the 3sixty is such an awesome tool compared to my old EQ232. I would love to see the final curve and listen to the system. Did you notice any difference with the trunk lid open vs closed?
i use Sol Republic "Tracks HD"....best headphones i have ever owned. I bought dre's recently and they suck compared to these IMO. I took the dre's back.
I've seen all your lexus's audio transformation videos... dude you're really awesome!! I would like to ask you something... the stock is-f does come with a center channel speaker? how did you amplified it? I'm asking because I've a 2008 hyundai azera, I've changed all the stock 6.5" infinty speakers with kappas 62.9i, center channel with a jbl gto6428, added a 400w rms mbquart amp hooked to a pioneer ts-w259d4. I would like to change my stock amp but the center channel "confuses" me. thanks!
because lets just say you were a good basketball player......would you let Michael Jordan come by and play a few games with you? Would you take pointers from him to make your game better? Yes i tune myself and have for years. This session took what i do to another level.
oh, and ya bro it was very nice of them to come out! Its a true honor! not many people can say "brand x" flew out to tune my ride. That is bad ass!!! I watched this build on your site but had no idea RF came to you and tuned your system for you. That is too damn cool bro!!
steve you don't leave a single stone unturned when it comes to perfecting every aspect of your current setups. inspires me to work on my sq..
10 hours of tuning. Love seeing dedication like that.
me too. I had the Tahoe 12 years almost so its time i loved something new. I still love both but the lex is my daily now.
that song has a killer beginning....the drum and then the dude plucking the bass strings....i don't always reference it but it sure did sound good on the new tuning so i had to use it :)
I didn't realize that your Lexus had that much going on musically. However, I'm extremely impressed. Hope to one day be able to do something similar. And also , long live the memory of Stevie Ray Vaughan. I caught that little sound bit .
the ipad mini is bluetoothing DIRECTLY to the 3sixty.3 so i use master volume for that. If i am using the factory deck, i use either/or.
RF is a preference. Also, the T5 speakers have INCREDIBLE SQ so i can't go wrong there.
Must be nice to be a Rockford sponsor and have them come and pro tune your system.
Just love your vids and the things that i have learned from watching your vids.
Awesome!! Keep up the builds. I appreciate how your builds are so clean.
yup comes with everything
That has to be the cleanest install on a Lexus out there right now, period.
by the way, you don't "need" this much equipment, a basic RTA, trained ears and an Iasca disc (along with some familiar "SQ" type songs") is all you need for any processor, even the 3sixty.3. Always impressive stuff by you Steve. Keep it up bro.
This should win install of the year ive watched from start to finish and its worthy
feels even better when you work for it. I don't have a "whole lot", though, wish i did.
i love that lexus soo much definitely the cleanest isf out there
I know this an old video but this is very impressive. I know your Lexus sounds like a THX certified theater.
Man Steve you're really an inspiration to do things the right way and not half assed.
Keep up the awesome videos.
From you're homies in Canada, Aye!
nahhh no time, they had to leave. I've already done a lot of tuning in it on my own though. Its got (of course) 2 3sixty.2's in it.
AZA Forged 3 Piece 20's. Search it on youtube, i showed them being made from the ground up specifically for this car.....from the measurements to the CNC, to the paint, to the RE-Paint (went all black). Its all on YT.

then do it yourself, like i normally do. I just got lucky they decided to come and help. That don't mean i HAD to have them come over.
yup....and the Tahoe already had its vegas time at the palms 3 years ago :)
Wow what a sweet tuning setup and a sick car!
thanks akash!
good job steve on the lex sounds clean.
no sir thank you! you take ur time to build something and then you record every step of it. (videos and pictures) and then u share it with us. thank you sir. i have seen alot of people with amazing cars and amazing stuff but no1 takes their time to share what they have done to it and how they do it.. but you sir. are whole difffrent person. and thank you for that. hope to see you once and ur car is fucking amazing. i got lexus is350 2010. and it was ur vidoes that inspired me to get it!!

thanks man i wish i coulda' played it longer though.....didn't wanna trip the copyright filters so i kept it quick LOL.
it was awesome watching this with good headphones on. man, the lexus is sounding good!
the amps are set with a DD-1. I am fully active so i don't use onboard crossovers. The dd-a and cc-1 have nothing to do with Eq'ng and time alignment.
thanks!
cool bro i will check it out! what is your screen name?
wow... so there is no mic included with the 3sixty.3 so we can have an auto correction ? If you don't have this complicated mic setup, how can you tune phase and time correction for each channels ?
Stevie Ray and RATM! Nice!
actually, the bluetooth sounds pretty damn clean.
i was just playin' with you bro but thanks! and if i get a chance ill look up the ones you use also! good lookin out!
thank you sir.
Yea, I saw those videos, loved 'em. Hopefully the ceiling will hold up a little better this time! Those white flakes on a black car will be a lot more visible
Damn this is my dream car, I'd do anything for one. You're a genius in doing audio systems, Romania likes you :)!
sound quality level, a mix between sound quality and sound pressure level
its not "installed" yet.
Sweet, that's the first time i've actually seen/heard somebody use the RATM sound quality test.
thanks man, appreciate it for realz bro.
oh, and thanks bro! :)
are you going to pay for the ticket? 35 up front, 5 in back is plenty dark and already illegal. Thanks for the cool suggestion though..
Steve i love you and your system and this car.
Can't wait to see a demo on this.
That "Rage Against The Machine" song he is playing @ the end is from one of the best sounding metal albums ever made (their first album), perfect for testing sound systems =)
Yeah clean music is so nice
Well meade thanks for the inspiration! Ive always loved car audio, but watching your vids, i want to do a big build myself, my first one. I'm not very informed on audio but when I saw the computers I thought, "holy shit, this must sound CLEAN as hell!!!" Talkin' bout clean on some crazy level.
Looks like we should be expecting this IS-F to be at Rockford's booth at CES next year
Wow that looks amazing man, nice job
WE ARE YOUR TRUE FANS! IVE BEEN REFRESHING THE PAGE ALL DAY FOR THIS!
Meade I like how you sort of explained this video and what they were doing man I love bass I'm just not a pro thanks for the explaining man good job
I fuckin love that isf! You,ve done a grand job with it bro.. Much Respect!
Other than the Rockford Fosgate 3 sixty 3, what would you suggest to use to integrate into the factory oem head unit to after market amps and speakers - example 2014 Ram 1500?
Very important step in any car audio build.
It was cold before, but now, this car must sound INSANE.
Real nice and clean sound too.
Ok, I will for my mad respect for you!
it will only pair with one device at a time....and it is PW protected too like any device you would pair.
Damn.. the more i see that beast the better it gets!
you have the dopest IS-F ever
i didn't amplify it bro i ripped it out. Forget a center channel. You wouldn't know it wasn't there though since it is tuned properly.
Thumbs up for that distance test!
Lol nice, using Smaart live. I use to use that years ago, amazing RTA program.
Rough estimate , how much does a tunning cost ?
TY good sir. :)
yessir.
I remember you showing us how to do this in the Tahoe a while back, good stuff! What system sounds cleaner between your Lexus and Tahoe, or can you compare them?
you an buy a pretty nice one with that much. Good luck!
love it bro keep up with the good work
@meade916 hey steve what is Rockford Fosgate's target RTA Curve? Or do they have the same target RTA curves as i.e. (Audyssey, Crutchfield, B&K, Audio Control, etc...)
Sick setup btw!
That car is so nice!!
What crossover setting did you set the 8" woofers to? I am thinking of trying to do something similar.
for me, yes, but everyone has their taste. I love it though.
Hey steve i'm a huge fan. I was wonder on the systems diagram u have in the video; what is the unit thing below the radio that the ipad is hooked up to?
Not a problem!
This is killer!
Just wondering if the Fosgate guys set the RTA curve to match human hearing threshold? If not just what does your RTA graph look like? Tried to do the same but I just don't have as many EQ bands to work with. lol
Nice car too. Great job as always. Would love to send my truck your way.

i use Sol Republic "Tracks HD"....best headphones i have ever owned. I bought dre's recently and they suck compared to these IMO. I took the dre's back.
sweet showin some SQ love for us guys that like that have you considered competing with the lexus in Meca sound quality?
Wow good video man nice ride .
im impressed man using the factory deck man very fuckin nice! and sick loookin ride!
those are real NOS tanks FYI -
ya.
I've seen all your lexus's audio transformation videos... dude you're really awesome!!
I would like to ask you something... the stock is-f does come with a center channel speaker? how did you amplified it?

I would like to change my stock amp but the center channel "confuses" me.
thanks!
Hey Steve can regular Joes out their go straight to RF to get our systems tuned or did they do you a favor?
Think you might want to install a RF 3sixty.3 in the tahoe if you like how well it turned out in the lexus?
because lets just say you were a good basketball player......would you let Michael Jordan come by and play a few games with you? Would you take pointers from him to make your game better? Yes i tune myself and have for years. This session took what i do to another level.
