Using Coca Cola & Pepsi is a new one one me, you'd be surprised how effective Dawn dish soap mixed with water in a sprayer works. You're brave to just use the hose nozzle on those fins, that's how to bend and damage those in a fast hurry. I would recommend some type of soft bristle or paint brush with that nozzle to remove those bugs off the fins. Good job!

I saw so many bad points in this video that it made me feel sick. At first, he pulls out the hoses while there is still coolant inside, and some of it went on the cables below it. Then vacuuming the radiator with contacting in the fins. Also vacuuming a dry dirt that is stuck to the surface is pointless and it would be easier with water. And the Coca Cola/Pepsi part... oh hell no..

I used to work for a company that does only this, i find compressed air to be better than vacuum cleaner :) Also why the cola? Just use Alu cleaner, but most important, do not make the core wet, start 1st with compressed air to blow out the dirt while its dry, then dump it into a bath with aluminium acid (Alucleans) is the one we used. it stays in the bath like 30 seconds, acid only reacts to alu so it if you close the one pipe of the Radiator it will force all rubbish inside the core out. Then just a pressure wash and its done. But lucky this one in the vid did not need cleaning ins as the vehicle used Antifreeze which prevents rust. But ye as for outside, don't waste the cola bro :) drink the cola and use alucleans. But man those radiator hoses..... fucking hate em with a passion the way they join with the radiator..(VW,BMW,MBENZ,AUDI) all those or most of em got that shit. Especially if the customer never used any antifreeze.. plastic so brittle you can not remove that pipe without it breaking to pieces.. But most of those vehicles have high pressure cooling systems so they have to have those special hose fittings, would've been nice if they could stick to the old hose over the pipe with a hose clamp...

Omg you hit the nail with the radiator hoses getting in the way... I was trying to change the radiator fan on my mercedes e350 coupe and everything was easy until I couldn't get the fan because the radiator hose was in the way and I didn't have time to deal with coolant leaks after disconnecting the hose so I had to screw everything back ugh. Although using the aluclean is a good idea so I might as well clean the radiator while I'm at it.

NOTE: Everyone has my permission to file the following under "we didn't ask your opinion".
First: If your radiator looks like this, I shudder to think about how often you have to change your air filter.
Second: If this volume of debris is normal where you drive, you need to rig a mesh screen in front of the radiator. We used to do this on the farm. Easy to remove, easy to clean.
Next, you call this easy and cheap. Cheap maybe, but this looks to be an all-day job the way that you're doing it. It wasn't until 4:36 in the video that you got around to using the power washer that I would have started with today. When I was a kid, we used high pressure air followed by a garden hose, but a power washer is definitely better.
