@@TalisaAquarist yes both are neocaridina. Funny enough I bought shrimp 3 times from Amazon las Vegas exotic. I got red cherry twice and blue dream once. Only 1 DOA in the first order of cherry. They have the carbon rilly and the black rose. Even if you get them somewhere else check out what they look like. They are stunning
I already left a comment but I had to say. I never lost a wet pet in an instant cycle. I do the same I use a filter from an established tank and the decorations and plants are also from established tanks. I do add stability (any bottled bacteria) and treat the tap water with prime. Once the temp is right the fish go in. I will never fishless cycle again. For shrimp I do instant cycle however I add snails for a week and have high light for algae.
@@TalisaAquarist me too. I haven’t had to deal with bacterial blooms with the fish in cycle. It took months to clear in my fishless cycle. Of course I made it worse with water changes but fact remains doesn’t happen to me with fish in cycle.
I got that same sand in black. I absolutely loved it but white sand stays much cleaner. Which is weird since that’s usually the opposite for me I can’t wear white without getting it stained. I went with super fine pool filter sand in my other tanks and it does take awhile for the mulm to go down into the sand. I’ve had mine up for over a year and it’s just barely starting to “lasagna”
@@TalisaAquarist it certainly will and the shrimp will help a lot by breaking detritus down even more making it filter through faster. Mts help too but not with Squishy she might accidentally eat one.
Black rose shrimp or carbon Rili they have dark blue speckles on the clear and black tail and head.
Those sound pretty! Are they neocaridina shrimp?
