For me it's the flow that makes long fin bettas stressed not the size of the tank. I guess 5 gallon though is fine for a betta (long fin) if ideal in a healthy way. Anything smaller than that is awful and I don't know why anyone still does this .
I really like your tanks and your bettas! Those low/floor tanks are hard to siphon. I've had to use an electric siphon to remove water even. I think it could work to siphon the bottom if the hose could be manipulated to slow the suction. The electric siphons really are strong.

@@heaven7360 thanks! Yes I don’t recommend people keep betta fish in anything smaller than 5 gallons unless the betta fish has a disability or is very lethargic from old age

@@heaven7360 I figure the mulm just helps to provide more food for the guppy fry.

Oh he is so happy in the 20 long. Those are shallow like a 10 gallon so he will probably always do well in there. I love my 20 long it has a deep sand substrate so it’s even more shallow but my tetras, cherry shrimp, Pygmy Corydoras, and 2 upside down cats don’t mind the shallow one bit. Actually the male upside down cat loves digging under the sponge filter creating his lair while the female who is larger has the cichlid cave. No she doesn’t share her house she will share the wood scape sometimes.

I just hit play but I thought it was the opposite. So longer fin needs shallow tanks but less flowy fins can go in 20 standard height. My veil tail male started in a 10 gallon but is far more relaxed in his 5 gallon. It could be the different plants but he doesn’t swim back and forth like he did in the 10. It was like he kept thinking there was another fish in the tank. Both have lots of plants but the 10 didn’t have any anubias.
Edit: I love the pea puffer and that will look amazing.

@@TalisaAquarist me too. I was worried a lot when he was in the 10 gallon. He also flares then swims away super fast and hides from his reflection. We stopped trying a while ago. He gets exercise when he flares at the mystery snail for sleeping on the front glass. The snail really upsets him 😂
