I use a lot of those twin sponge filters as they are dirt cheap, effective and take up little room...I bought ten of them and pulled all the sponges off and stuck them all in my sump from my oscar tank...now whenever I need to have more biological media I just grab a couple of them, slide them back onto the filter and away we go...I think those two armed sponge filters are good with fry because they are off the bottom of tank and so you dont end up with muck collecting around the bottom of them ..just my 2 cents worth...thanks for the videos...subscribed.
I have one week old angle fry in a separate tank and my parents just laid more eggs. When the eggs hatch can they go into the tank with the other fry, or will the other fry eat them???
Hey, nice video. For water change, I use a rigid airline tubing attached to an airline. I use a finger on one side to stop flow and sucking up fry. I reuse the rigid airline tubing attached to an airline as a drip system later to fill it back up with water. From a batch of 500 fry, 10 fry die at most. I never had a problem getting them to eat flakes. Their first meal I feed them "Hikari First Bites". Then I feed them Baby Brine Shrimps. Angelfish are aggressive, I learned the hard way when I mixed different size Angelfish.
I have a question I know this is old but my parents seem like good parents and they're raising the fry very well they are wiggling but when they become free swimming is the filter going to suck them up if I keep them I'm the tank with the parent's...how do I get them out from the parents.. or do I take the parent's filter out and put sponges and keep them there but them the parent's need to eat real food and it's going to cause bad water parameters
I love your videos. I have been doing a lot of research lately. I have about 70 baby fry. They're a week old. my question is at what age can I start them on a different food? Also how long does it take them to grow? I have them in a ten gallon tank right now,.but I have a larger one ready when they get bigger.
thank you for watching my videos. Glad they help you. growth depends how often you feed your fry and how often you do water changes. if you do a 25% water change everyday and feed them baby brine shrimp 4 to 5 times a day they can get to dime size in a month to a month and a half. it takes about two months until you can feed your fry crushed up flakes. hope this helps.
Nice video. You did a good job at covering the most important things. Clean tanks by the way. Just one question, is there a reason why you put your water heater at the bottom of the tank?
thank you once again. the reason why I out the heater at the bottom is because most Heaters need to be submerged underwater at all times. if a heater goes above water or out of water it can malfunction. so it's easier for me to do my water changes when it's close to the bottom.
Hey mate, mine started free swimming and then over the next two days declined in health and unfortunately started dying on the bottom. Any help? Cheers
Hi Master nice day to you. I have a problem. Few times i fail. After a week the parents i remove to another thank and the fry going dying. Its seem so disapointed. How many weeks old i should remove the parents. Or i live their parents until the fry grow bigger.Pls adivse. Thank you Master.
Thank you very much for the information. This will be the first time, I am going to breed Calico Angel Fish with the Black Veil Angel Fish and see what creations I can make. Although, could you share where to put the Fry when your cleaning the tank?
Nicole Graham Thank you for viewing my video. I always kept my fry in the tank while cleaning. Use a airline tube to suck the bad water out into a white bucket. That way, if you accidentley suck up any fry, they will land in the bucket and you can retrieve them from the bucket. Does not harm them at all. But it does get irritating after a while, having to scoop them all back up from the bucket into the tank after every water change. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more questions answered.
Pls how i can calculate for only spawn of angelfish how much brine shrimp eggs to make in a 1 litre bottle and also how i can calculate to feed angelfish fry not to foul the water pls?
Hi, I am new to the breeding process. My angelfish surprised me with a batch of eggs so I decided to give it a try. I removed the leaf and placed it in a 1gal tank until they hatched with an air stone. I then moved them to a breeder box that feeds off the tank were I keep the parents. However, they are attached by some strings to a clump of white eggs. I have cleaned the bottom and make daily water changes. My question is should I try to some how remove the clump of white eggs or should I just let them be and remove them once they are free swimming?
My frye are at week 2 and all stay at the bottomed of tank almost look like dying but then start swimming again... they get excited to eat but then go back to laying on bottom... what's going on? I've done water changes and even turned off all filters thinking maybe too much current making them tired... but no change they always seem like they dying but none has died yet....
Hi Mate Thanks for the precious advice. I have huge batch of angel fry and they are now free swimming. Should I take out the parents?Does not look like the parents are eating them!any advice would be greatly appreciated!
+Sam Jones Yes. I had a heater that malfunction during the night, the temperature rose up to 40 degrees celcius. All fried were dead in the morning and the parent were in a very bad shape. I initially thought it was ammonia and moved the half alive parents to a different tank. They struggled for a few hours before they died. Very bad! That was a pair which spawned every week!! Never seen a pair spawning everyweek no matter what water parameters or conditions they were in!
+Farz Khan That would have been horrible...I lost 3 out of 4 silver dollars and my favorite goldfish due to my light going bust...I thought they would be okay without the light and I was planning on getting a new one in a couple of weeks...but what happened was that all of the algae in the tank...and I had a lot of it on the rocks and back glass, died ( I grow it deliberately for the fish to graze on) ..any way all the dead algae made it's way to the bottom of canister and sat there rotting...long story short - massive ammonia spike.
do you test your water at all? im having a new problem with high nitrite all of the sudden, but it is probably due to food waste pollution .. Iv lost most of my fry either due to moving tanks (shock) or high nitrite .. The parents only seem to rarely eat them if they feel threatened (or the pick them up and spit them out away from the front) so I keep a towel over the tank all the time (seems to help alot)
Since I set up my first tank, I have never tested my water, because I do frequent water changes and I feed only 3 times a day. Are you doing water changes??
Jason Koelling How many tanks do you have??? I am going to suggest empyting all the tank water and then putting a quarter of water from another tank that has gone through the nitrogen cycle, into the tank you are having problems with, then filling it up with new water. MAke sure to use a dechlorinator like prime.
Once fertilized can Utilize a turkey baister to remove the eggs from main tank to small breeder tank and what would be the best way to present them inside breeder tank if I can do so ?
Use a airliner tube to suction out waste and un eaten food into a WHITE bucket. You will suck up fry by mistake and it is ok as long as they end up in the bucket. Once you have filled the bucket do the desired amount, you will need to get a net and net all the fry from your bucket back out into the fry tank. Does this help?
Hello! I am new to angelfish breeding and have not had a lot of luck so far. I am currently using pvc pipes for my angels to lay eggs on. It seems as though a lot of the eggs tend to fall off of the pvc pipe while the parents are laying. I want to give slate a try! I was simply wondering where and how you (or anyone reading this) get your slates? Thanks in advance!
Quick question, I have some baby angel fish fry, this is my first time, they had some yesterday but i got up this morning and they were gone, now they are back in the same spot today, I don't know if they eat the first batch or what, but I do have some and my angel fish are really aggressive, should i leave the parents in the tank or take them out, and what do i feed the babies?
Using water from another tank is not an instant cycle. Bacteria cling to things in the tank like substrate, decorations, wood. Very little or none present in the water.
Let me question something do you know where you will go after you die? If not let me say you can have a choice to either go to hell or heaven see 2000 years ago there was this man named Jesus who died on the cross for our sins and rose alive 3 days later all because he truly loved us he died for us so I question you now do you truly believe in Jesus or do you live for the world turn to Jesus Christ trust in him Christ has way much more to give than the world he loves us turn to Christ

Interesting my friend. Thank you for checking out my video.
When starting new tank for angle fish fry does it need to be seasoned
Good video and instructions. How do you keep the bottom of your fry tank so clean? Is there a certain method that you use? Thanks much!
awesome
Hi MasterAquatic,
Just want to ask why my angelfish fries are died off in the free swim stage. I feed them with FristBite.
They may not like that food so they starve to death. Feed them newly hatched baby brine shrimp or micro worms.
what do you do for a living? i cant find the time to feed them 4 times a day...
it's tough. I wake up early and stay up late to feed them. I work a full time job and at one point I had two jobs while taking care of them.
thank you for watching my videos. please subscribe. thank you.

Do I leave the light on for the baby fry 24/7 when the parents are not in the tank? Can I turn the light off at night and back on in the morning?
Where did you get your filters from? I love them.
Amazon
I have 70 to 80 baby angels 2 weeks old in a ten gallon tank. When do I need to move them into something bigger?

decent setup. i use airline or a turkey baister to clean the dirt from the bottom. i also use microworms as its much easier to keep a culture going.
thanks for the feed back
can I feed them daphnia?
thank.you for you time to make the video I'm a first timer will get Turkey baster and feed them baby brine didn't know thank you get some sleep bro

my adult angel fish are taking care of the fry ,should i remove the parents once the fry become free swimming?
I would take care of the fry on their own in a separate tank. easier to do so.
ill do that.thanks
Do I need to use the same water from the breeding tank for the fry tank? Or 50% is good enough?
+Deia Horton if your setting up a new tank that has not been cycled then yes. use the water from the breeding tank. about 50 percent like you said.

Great!! Thank you so much! I will keep you posted!!
Hello I’m a little worried about my fry they seem to stick around the mesh and not swim at all it’s day 4 and I can see their tail and eyes
For some reason my babies are dying off. They are 2 months old and won't eat flakes. I do regular water changes.
Quick question, I have some baby angel fish fry, this is my first time, they had some yesterday but i got up this morning and they were gone, now they are back in the same spot today, I don't know if they eat the first batch or what, but I do have some and my angel fish are really aggressive, should i leave the parents in the tank or take them out, and what do i feed the babies?
i would take them out if you feel like they are going to eat them. you need feed the fry baby brine shrimp as soon as they start swimming.
I have the same thermometers and they read 2* short FYI
Vala?
mmmm what?
The good ol days *sigh*
