    you are right that a proper aquascape makes a tank look bigger and adds depth.

    The tank looks awesome Talisa, I plan on rescaping my 10 gallon in my fishroom into a shrimp tank after I find a spot for my small angelfish grow out. Love the setup 😁👍

      Thanks Patty! I am looking forward to seeing your shrimp tank all setup! Shrimp are one of my favorites!

    I love how you don’t plan it out and end up with such amazing aqua scapes. Me I plan it out in my head and then I’m disappointed. My skill set is not nearly up to my imagination. 😂
    Edit: I have a heater in my 2.5 gallon shrimp tank but I have it set to 72F. Idk how often the heater actually kicks on but I have lots of blue dream babies.

    Do you plant your plants deep down to get to the nutrient soil?

    • @TalisaAquarist
      @TalisaAquarist  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes I try to, they may not go entirely to the aqua soil, but they’re close.

      If you use potting soil you definitely don’t want to push the plants down into the soil, the potting soil could burn the roots.

    Question about the monstera. I’ve seen them get really big and I would like to get one for my 20 gallon I worry about the weight. Will it make the tank heavy?

    • @TheSalient1
      @TheSalient1 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Don't need to worry about the weight as u would the space in the tank , im.not sure a larger terrestrial plant like that would do well in a smaller tabk as it may not get enough nutrients it needs, worth a try though!

      @TalisaAquarist  11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@crystalgrzelak I second what Jessie said! Another thing to consider is how much space you have above the tank and you would need to consider a heavy duty plant holder, not one that just suction cups, unless you have your driftwood laid out in such a way that you can just set it (the plant) in the top of the tank.

      So far my favorite plants to keep at the top of an aquarium are sweet potato vines, and peace lilies! You don’t want to leave the sweet potato in, after it’s grown nice vines then you pull the vines off of the potato and put them in the tank. Otherwise the potato can rot and really mess up the tank parameters.

      @@TheSalient1 it is a guppy colony tank so there is about a million guppies so nutrients should be good. There is about 8 feet above the plant. My ceiling is about 12 feet and they are on a dresser that is about 3 feet the tank makes it to my chest. I think I will give it a try

      @@TalisaAquarist oh that is a very good point. I can’t do drift wood in that tank because of guppies however I could put rocks in the corner or maybe flip a planter upside down then put it on top of that. I’ll have to look at the planters. The ones I currently use have 5 holes and it hangs on the rim. The stem of a monstera will be too wide for those.
