Often overlooked, the line, "...findin' more and more truth in the words written in red." refers to a red letter Bible, in which the words of Jesus are printed in red ink. I think knowing the context makes the line and the entire song even more powerful.
It's hard to believe but Ronnie Dunn the singer didn't want to be a artist. He was studying to become a preacher. He is a very religious person. Glad that he went this route because they have so much great music behind them. God Bless you guys for giving country music a go. Believe!!!!!
This song is in the top 100 most influential and inspirational songs ever recorded! In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful songs that I have ever heard! It is also a true story! The singer, Ronnie Dunn wrote this song about an experience that he had during his young life! Wonderful reaction! 😢
Not us this song true story it is based on Ronnie Dunn' s life . He was so he much influenced by that old man that the college was attending was a Christian college he wanted to be a preacher, but someone saw him in a bar playing this guitar and they told the dean. And he asked to leave the college. So he left.😂😂😂
Brooks n Dunn. Kix Brooks is the guitar player, while Ronnie Dunn is the singer. They are one of the best selling duos in country history, with a string of awards, and hits going back to the 80's. Songs such as; "Boot Scootin' boogie'. "Rock my world, little country girl". "Brand new man". "Neon moon". "My next broken heart", and so many more. 🤠
Oh what a lovely reaction, this is one of my favorite songs and I am SO glad yall enjoyed it. Years ago, I heard Rodney say that he didn't want the lyrics to be overlooked because of music, so they kept it simple.
I have always found it really fascinating the story of this duo. The story goes that both of them had separate auditions at a record label. Their auditions were back-to-back. The guy listening made the decision to give both of them are called back so whoever went 1st he told to please just wait in the lobby and he would come out and speak with him again soon. He went in to do the next interview with the other half of this duo and at the end of it brought the 1st guy in and said look we want to sign both of you but we will only do it if you sing together because your voices would be perfect. So 2 individual artists meet and become one of the most famous country music duos in all of history and they didn't even know each other's name. The other really interesting thing is that the rumor has been for all these decades that the 2 of them really don't get along all that well. They rarely interacted whatsoever outside of planning their tours and writing music. Their families didn't get together I mean I'm sure they did once or twice but it wasn't like a big happy family it was just 2 separate dudes live in 2 separate lives except for when they came together to make something amazing
my favorite thing about this song is the production of the video. The images give you more of a feeling for the words. I loved the song before I even knew there was a video, seeing the video truly gave it another layer that makes it even more understandable. The producers of this video deserve a ton of credit.
In an article I read, the song was written by Ronnie Dunn and Craig Wiseman. Ronnie said the song is based on his own experiences of faith and spirituality and Craig took inspiration from a conversation he had with an old Vietnam veteran he met in a bar. The man told him about his life and a near death experience he had in a car wreck.
I love the relationship they had. I had a similar person in my life as a kid. He was a widower that lived on my street and my sister and I helped him with his garden for several years. The relationship was as important to us as it was to him. ❤
I boo hoo every time I hear this song. 😂 Every time...and this time was no exception. It reminds me of my loved ones. I am glad y'all reacted to it. Great job on not crying. LOL 😆 🤣 Much love from Texas!
Yall are now the first channel I think about and wonder what content your dropping when I start thinking reaction channels after I wake up. lol..One of my favs and Im not a country music guy much.
As a country lover, this is exciting. Unfortunately, all Reactors react to “Believe” thus, not knowing the greatness of all things Brooks and Dunn. An award winning Top Duo/Group that dominated for 20 years. Truly, not one bad song! A must…watch them Live! Please react to 2 songs from “Live from Invitation Only” Neon Moon My Maria
The guy playing the guitar, Kix Brooks, also takes the lead in singing a few of their songs. Two that I can think of is "Rock my World Litt Country Girl" and "Lost and Found". I think those are a couple of under-appreciated classics by them. Typically people only think of Ronnie Dunn when they think of a Brooks and Dunn song, because Dunn sings lead most of the time.
Growing up, Ronnie Dunn's family moved around a lot. He wanted to be a minister and attended Abilene Christian University toward that end, but obviously had a knack for singing and was asked to leave school because of playing in bars. We in Tulsa were happy to welcome him here and he had a couple of songs recorded when he was paired with Kix Brooks and, as they say, the rest is history. Once of their great videos is Ronnie returning to Tulsa with Kix to perform at the famous Cain's Ballroom, which Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys used to make inroads on country music. There are 14 songs/videos from B&D's 2005 show at Cain's - some really great music recorded Live!
I've been to many concerts. One concert that I will never forget was seeing Brooks and Dunn open for ZZ Top(I know..odd pairing..right?). Ronnie Dunn's voice was outstanding. He sounded better live than almost any singer I'd heard to that point. And he maintained it throughout the show. She mentioned the clarity of his voice. She's right on point. You can understand everything he says. He doesn't need any studio enhancement for his vocals. I have to admit, he was so good it shocked me. I gained a whole new respect for him. His pitch was perfect.
Brooks and Dunn are great story tellers. Ronnie Dunn has an extremely powerful voice. It y’all get a chance check out “Red Dirt Road” by Brooks and Dunn. It’s another great story.
Finally! You can't believe how many reactions to this video I've seen where people just don't get it! I believe! This is what the kid learned from the old man. The words written in red,( the word of Jesus Christ as written in the bible!) this song is about faith, not about death. First time I've ever seen someone get it right! By the way, I'm not even religious. Thank you!!!
Hey guys. For a recommendation, I'd like to submit you check out: Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill "How great thou art" which as you may know, is a gospel hymn. But this particular video is probably one of the best live vocal performances you may ever see/hear. Carrie's voice is beyond the next level! 🤯
Another song you should check out is "Chiseld in Stone" by Vern Gosdin. My wife of 63 years passed a little over 2 years ago, and every time I listen to that song the last four lines gat to me and bring the tears.
For another creation with a religious element yet wide appeal check out Home Free's rendition of "How Great Thou Art", offering phenomenal harmonies amid a spectacular setting.
I love this song. A powerful and heart-wrenching country song is Craig Morgan's The Father, My Son, and the Holy Ghost. It might be one you'd enjoy reacting to.
He just took us all to church with this one👍🙏 the background singers are soo over looked. To me. They add soo much. Hard to hear them the first time over the lead. Vocals
Please take a deep dive into Brooks and Dunn!! They have so many hits, you won't be disappointed. Start with Boot Scootin Boogie. Then move on to My Maria, Neon Moon, There Ain't Nothin Bout You, Rock My World, and sooooo many more!!! You will never be disappointed in Brook and Dunn. The one singing in this song is Ronnie Dunn. Kix Brooks (the one. Playing the guitar in this video) also sings!!
Hey guy's good song your doing a great job on the reactions, I would like to request a song by Brooks and Dunn, called "I'LL NEVER FORGIVE MY HEART" this is a great country song by them Ronnie, sing's it great think you will enjoy it. Thanks Oh by the way Kix Brooks, is playing the guitar and Ronnie Dunn, is on vocals.
Now go back and dig into some of their older stuff like "Red Dirt Road", "Play Something Country", "My Marie" and then watch Ronnie Dunn on his own singing "Cost of Living".
Ronnie Dunn was in college to be a minister. When they found out he was playing music on the weekends, they asked him to leave. The guy playing guitar 🎸 is Kix Brooks. Kix has a nice voice too. The words written in red, he's referring to the Bible.

Ronnie Dunn taking us to church! Great reaction!❤❤

It saddens me that 6 people gave this a " thumbs" down & 1.9 K gave it a thumbs up at this moment. Some people have no heart !
Not us this song true story it is based on Ronnie Dunn' s life . This is a absolute true story from Ronnie’s childhood. His voice goes straight to the heart
It was certainly heartfelt!
No it wasn't, Ronnie co wrote on someone else's song
@@michaelbiggs2238 And how does that not make it heartfelt ?? ♠W.G.
@@wgdavis5353 he's not saying it wasn't heartfelt, he's simply stating that it isn't a "true story from Ronnie's childhood".
Few bibles these days have the words of Jesus written in red. All the old king James versions used to.
I’m crying, again! So will just say thank you ❤

If you are a Christian you understand this video. Thank you so much for this reaction! 😊
This is the most awarded Duo in Country Music history. They have many great songs.
Oh what a lovely reaction, this is one of my favorite songs and I am SO glad yall enjoyed it. Years ago, I heard Rodney say that he didn't want the lyrics to be overlooked because of music, so they kept it simple.
Can definitely see that aspect!
Loved your reaction.
this is a true story from his childhood ad a beautiful memorial to the man that was his friend.
Ronnie Dunn has one of the best voices in music!
Beautiful song 🎵. I love it ❤. I don’t know whether to cry or laugh. 😭😇

Ronnie Dunn lifestyle true story
I think you would like Randy Travis’ “He Walked on Water”, a song about the relationship between a young boy and his great grandfather.
I have listened to this song at least 100 times and I haven't made it thru it yet without crying.
Enjoying your journey, I'm just tagging along. Thanks.😊
This did win them Song of the Year:)

😂 amazing!
Ronnie Dunn(vocals) and Kix Brooks(guitar and vocals) are amazing. "My Maria" is one of my favorites by them.
As a country lover, this is exciting. Unfortunately, all Reactors react to “Believe” thus, not knowing the greatness of all things Brooks and Dunn. An award winning Top Duo/Group that dominated for 20 years. Truly, not one bad song!

Love Brooks and Dunn. Oh and Sam too. She’s precious
Brooks and Dunn have done some great songs, my favorite is still "It's getting better all the time".
I cry every time I see this video.
Yes this song was written about him growing up. This storyline is the truth.

Ronny Dunn life
Ronnie Dunn was in college to be a minister. When they found out he was playing music on the weekends, they asked him to leave. The guy playing guitar 🎸 is Kix Brooks. Kix has a nice voice too. The words written in red, he's referring to the Bible.
It's good that he didn't become a minister. The lyrics are heretical.
You mourn differently if you believe thank you Jesus. Yes this is a true story
