Thank you Bill and Lisa for the shout out!:) I'm glad you two were able to go to the Liliha Bakery International MarketPlace. They do a great job in balancing a more fancy restaurant with the nostalgia of the original place. And I didn't know how loved Felix is throughout the community. Glad you got the Fried Chicken too. Soo crunchy.😋 Mele Kalikimaka to you and your Ohana👍🎄🤙
Our pleasure, Sean! We thank you for the local recommendations, and we're keeping notes on places from your other videos. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and Nhi.
Please do not change your content format! Bill and Lisa are true foodies like most of us. I discovered them during CoVID and I have learned from them that a trip doesn’t have to be a week long or more. And a big part of the trip is experiencing the culture of the area and that means all the local foods. Bill and Lisa I watch your channel because you both showcase your personalities and really share with us a lot of your experiences at the place you visit without all the rehearsed fluff. And because of the two of you I started a separate bucket list for 48 hours or less of travel destinations and I even have 2 short Amtrak trips. And now without twisting my arm I am adding Oahu as a side trip to our Maui trip. So from the bottom of my heart it is with deepest thanks that you have inspired me to venture out to travel again despite all this CoVID stuff. We need to live life and we only live once. And I want to live with a happy belly despite all my food allergies that won’t stop me! Bill and Lisa inspire me that you don’t need much time in one place to have a great experience but the toughest part is to prioritize and make the time to create a memory!!! And we get added bonus of meeting their family and they don’t have to share those private moments but they do. And that’s what makes it memorable to watch them because it’s like you are sitting right next to them eating and chatting. No pressure and no fake stuff on this channel. They give their honest opinions and they are so cute and funny when they make jokes and crack me up!!! Plus Lisa always has nice outfits and Bill has his fancy shirts but their attitudes are out of this world!!! Thanks Bill and Lisa for all the inspiration and fun laughs in 2022! Hope to see more fun adventures in the future!
Thank you so much for the kind words, Arlene. Yes, we all only get to live in this crazy world once, that said there's so much to see, eat, and experience. Of course not everyone will have the opportunity to venture around the world, but just visiting different new cities around you can be an exciting adventure. We've said it before in our Q&A's, but worth mentioning again, when traveling, don't plan too much to do in one day. Just plan a couple top things on your list, anything else you do will just be a nice extra. We never thought of ourselves as being influencers, just folks who love sharing our adventures and experiences with our TH-cam family. We love reading comments where we inspired people to take their first cruise, travel to a new destination, or even try new foods (and hopefully liked it! lol). Not to worry, no plans to change our format, just going to add new adventures. =)
No matter where you are...nice to see you trying out the local places. In Hawaii, see so many tourists eating at Subway, Burger King, etc....or just ordering cheeseburgers at local dining spots...Sheesh!
Love this Hawaii series. Prime rib and fired chicken made my mouth water. Nice to see Leslie get in front of the camera; she did great...she's a natural! I'm glad everybody enjoyed themselves. I know Christopher and Erin hate they had to leave early.
I absolutely love your videos. I will be travelling to Hawaii in 2024 and your videos, for me as a foodie, are very informative. The two of you are just adorable! Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Enjoyed this! We will be going to all the places you ate at!! My hubby grew up there, you opened our eyes to new places!! We can’t wait to try! Thank you!
You guys are so cute!!! You remind me of my mom and dad hahaha ❤️❤️❤️ thank you for your videos you’ve given us so many things to add to our list of places to check out. We’re going to Oahu in 3 weeks and can’t wait to try all of these yummy places!!! Especially that coco puff and chantilly cake 🤤🤤🤤
Been binge watching your HI vids to plan for our next visit to the islands! LOVE Sean’s channel, too! He has great vids on the local eats, I need to try them all! Hehe! Ray’s cafe is a must try, it’s on our list along with Jenny’s shrimp truck! ❤
Happy to see you and Lisa enjoying some local Hawaii food and special desserts. I live on the Big Island so many of the places you are dining are not available on the Big Island, especially on the Hilo side. If we do visit Oahu, we do indulge in some of the great eats Honolulu has to offer!!! Enjoy!!! Aloha!!!!
I just stumbled across your channel and after one video I’m hooked! Please don’t stop making great videos maybe come down to Vancouver Canada for some eats! I also subscribed and can’t wait for the next videos🙏🏼❤️
Loved loved the mini series!!! Thank you for the shoutout! My hubby loved the surprise!! Thanks again for the shoutout and thank you for showing us how beautiful Honolulu is!!
Awesome year of wonderful videos. Thank you for your personal gestures! ❤️ Happy New Year...." See you" on the TH-cam...YUMMY Stay happy, healthy and safe! 😀
Another great video filled with amazing food finds! That cocoa puff is my jam! ❤ Poke bowl for the win! Thanks for sharing your HI adventures with us Bill and Lisa! Happy New Year, cheeeeeers to 2023! 🎆🎊
Merry Christmas! Thanks for taking us along, wish we were in warm Hawaii! Food all looked amazing! Always go to barefoot beach restaurant for lunch but never did dinner and love they have entertainment too!
Mele Kalikemaka!!!🎄 What a great foodie video. I'm salivating with that fried chicken! It was sweet of him to give you a t-shirt. Wonderful final shot of that beautiful sunset.
Eh ...I enjoy watching all of your folks.. Have any of you folks (Sean/Nhi, Bill/Lisa, Amanda/Felix ever reviewed Molokai or Lanai sites and grindz? I have to get there while I still can!
Merry Christmas, Bill & Lisa (and Leslie)! It's nice to see the wrap-up of your recent Hawaiʻi food tour before the big December storm. You folks are old pros in Hawai'i and always know what to order at the favorite local places (or get good advice on Yelp and from other TH-cam foodie vloggers), and you are familiar with and can appreciate what we locals eat. The only giveaway that you didn't grow up here is you called the malasada flavor "ling hing" instead of "li hing"-- but you also said "ling hing MUI" which is the cracked seed and what many local people automatically call the powder flavor. What's your relationship with Hawai'i besides being frequent visitors and having many eateries with Hawai'i food in Torrance (and Las Vegas)? Do you (did you) have 'ohana here in the islands that we don't get to see?
I slipped on the 'ling', meant 'li hing', good catch. lol My grandfather was born in Hilo. Also was related to many peeps in Waimea on the Big Island for many years who we visited quite often. Lisa's aunt also grew up in Oahu. Merry Christmas to you and family, Jody.
Merry Xmas ...thanks for all the time you two invest in this amazing channel .... giving us all chance to get out even when we can't...let's have an a great 2023
We happen to go to Adela's Country Kitchen on Oahu in June. AMAZING. Our favorite island is Maui as we have been there least 5 times but we plan to go back to Oahu just toeat at Adela's! If you ever get a chance, try it. Home made pastas in all kinds of flavors...moringa, ube..etc.
Aloha Bill, Lisa and Leslie! Mahalo for doing this vlog which highlighted the foods I loved when I lived on Oahu. It made this Christmas Day flavorful and memorable! Felix’s local accent, and the sights of the building, where Ray’s in located, got me missing my old neighborhood - I grew-up in the Kalihi area. Looking forward to the next vlog. Mele Kalikemaka, and much 🧧!
Your blogs are so fun to watch. I wish you lived in Hawaii and I could watch them always! Hawaii stole my heart so many years ago❤🇨🇦Mahalo and Merry Christmas guys😊
Alohaaa Hi Bill&Lisa 🏝 Wow really enjoyed your tour of da island and da island is definitely gonna miss ya! Thank you for sharing where all da Ono grinez are! You guys are real fun fun fun😊 Malama Pono Take care and A Hui Hou Until we meet again🤙Aloha Oe🌺 see yall on da nex one💕🤙
Love all your foodie picks. I also just started following Sean the beginning of Dec. I believe you guys are the reason I found his TH-cam channel. I wish it was before my Hawaii trip. Glad I follow you both. Merry Christmas 🎄
I usually like your videos before watching them because I know it's always going to be fantastic! I was also planning of going to the original Liliha Bakery but ended up going to the one you went to :) I love their mochi donuts. I'll try that cake next time!
Must remember to not watch your videos before meal time, lol, always makes me extra hungry! lol. By the way, that Hawaiian sea salt that you were served with your meal is for the Maui onions next to the haupia, you dip that in it. I have occasionally dip the Maui onions in poi and then dip them into the Hawaiian sea salt, it sticks better…but if you like your meat extra salty more power to you, lol. There are so many ways of eating poi, but generally any salty dishes tends to go nice with poi, kalua pig and poi go nicely. Also some people like it fresh like you were eating while some people like it fermented, bit of sour taste.
Yes, another viewer commented about the salt being for the onions.. noted. We were thinking American steakhouses where they bring you a little dish of sea salt for you to sprinkle/dip your steak. Agreed, poi compliments just about any dish. Thanks for watching, LCA. =)
We are coming to Oahu in February. Can you give information on how you got to Maui? I would like to take a day trip. Also, my husband now wants to go to Rays for the Prime rib. We just found you on here and will be watching all your videos. My husband and I are foodies. Thank you for such great content.
Hi Sophie. We just booked the inter-island flight on the Hawaiian Airlines app. There are several departure times going both ways, just pick one that best suites your plans. Same went with the car rental, we use Hertz. Welcome to our channel! =)
Merry Christmas Bill and Lisa, Shirley here!!!! Just wanted to wish you and your family a happy holidays and health and happiness for the coming year and always. We flew back from Aulani on the 18th. It was such a fun, relaxing and magical time. And we ate twice at Liliha Bakery, once at International Market Place and once at Macy’s. Again, happy holidays, love and good wishes to you!!!! 🥰😍🥰😍🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Merry Christmas, Shirley! Happy to hear you had a great time at the Aulani. We also loved our stay there too. Next time check out the original Liliha, sitting at the counter will give you a great nostalgic feel.
@@billandlisa I have been to the original location. It was a rainy day, and I ran in there to get butter rolls, poi mochi donuts and cream puffs. I have tried the cocoa puffs before but they were a bit too sweet for me, so I stick to the cream puffs. Love, love, love Liliha! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Loved this series!! I was there at the same time but got sick so I missed out on a lot of what I had planned. Looking forward to seeing lots of the new places you reviewed on my next visit. Please tell us where Rays is at so I can get some of that chicken for my mom and husband. Happy holidays to you both and thank you for all your hard work!!
Sorry you felt under the weather in Hawaii. Happened to me on a trip to the Big Island a couple years back, no fun. Ray's (and all the other eating places) address is in the video description. You're very welcome and thanks for watching.
26:15 A warning to visitors to Hawaii. If you venture to walk on lava beds on the coasts, stay away from wet rock. Unexpected wave action is dangerous and may wash you to sea. Some years ago some kid thought it cool to stradle the Blow Hole and after the blast got sucked into the hole. Sad end to a vacation to Hawaii for the family. Don't act stupid when visiting new destinations and be respectful of the locale.
Merry Christmas Bill & Lisa and family. Really enjoyed all your videos from Hawaii, very entertaining. I just wanted to know how that chantilly cake compares with the Paradise cake at Kings Hawaiian?
Love hearing Leslie offer her articulate opinions. Thank you for taking us along on your Hawaiian adventures. Just like we were there!

That's good advice, Harvey. Heeding to warning signs and using good common sense will take you far.

Oh man, you had to go there. lol!! We'll need to eat both again to compare. Merry Christmas, Alan.
When are y’all going back to New Orleans? Love your recommendations for eating places.
We've been meaning to, but either other trips pop up or the weather in NOLA isn't too good. We will make it back though for sure.
