Here's the nitty gritty costs of this system. Of course, you could leave out the extras to save even more money!
    NIGHT LORDS ($136 before taxes)
100 infantry and 24 vehicles (With room for more)
    4x Small Boxes = $34
    4x Med Boxes = $56
    8x Metal Sheets = $16
    2x Carrying Straps = $30
    THOUSAND SONS ($26 before taxes)
Magnus, Daemon Prince, Rhino, Helbrute, 37 Infantry
    1x Small Box = $8
    1x Large Box = $14
    2x Metal Sheets = $4
    Chaos Knights ($40 before taxes)
6 Questoris, 6 War Dogs (With room for more)
    2x X-Large Boxes = $32
    4x Metal Sheets = $8
Adhesive = $8 (Was enough for ALL my boxes)

Don't worry UK bro's. Really useful boxes are made in the UK so they're a lot cheaper for us. You can find them £4-5 for an 4 Litre and £6 for a 9 litre.

You can also buy "Ferrous sheets" - currently I can see a pack if ten A4 Size for £15 - that's 10 x "Letter paper size" for you US folks. (i.e. they fit snugly in a RUB). Think of this as basically a rubber sheet infused with iron, so it is not magnetic itself, but will allow magnets to stick. They also come with sticky backing, so you just peel that off and stick it in. I've used this across my several armies and RUBs. They work great.

  • @SpoonyBard88

I use double-sided Gorilla tape to secure the metal sheets to my containers. Works extremely well and no waiting to adhesives to dry.

  • @Vertrucio
    @Vertrucio 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

One thing I'm noticing about those knock off boxes is that the handles don't protrude up over the lid as much as the RUBs do, so there's less chance of accidentally unlatching it.

Pretty much do the same thing with my RUBs and the steel flashing. However, instead of gluing the sheet, I just blue tacked it inside in case I ever wanna use the sheet for a different bin or use the box for something else. Glue for the sheet on the lid still makes sense however.

I prefer their Top Notch stackable bins, the clasps and box are a lot sturdier, especially the lid. they come in a couple of different sizes, so be aware of that if you want to stack them. the 21x15 can perfectly hold 2 of the cardboard trays that come in larger GW sets side-by-side. the top part (which you can buy individual bins of the same size) have adjustable dividers. I cut up and folded some graph paper (easy to cut and trim to size with lines already there) so that the spindly bits of my admech wouldnt get caught on the divider grooves, and they slide less on the paper since i dont use magnets.

I actually stumbled across these cases, and combined with my 3D printer, i've been using the large container with multiple shelves to great success. Thanks for the tip on the straps though!

Thousand Sons trim isn't really that bad. It's the fucking headcrest bands that are Hell.

I'm scratching my head on how I can avoid those bands all together 😅 To my detriment though I think I wanna go all out on detail with that army

It's definitely worth the pain. Also, a lot of people will tell you to just paint the whole model as whatever trim color you want, and then fill in the rest with blue. Personally I have an easier time with doing the trim last since it's a raised detail.

@@alanolex3962 I tested painting an entire mini silver then used a red speed paint, slaughter red, and it came out looking like a candy apple red. Great if I was doing a mini custom car, but didn't look right on my orcs, lol.
