One of the few adaptations that treated Cyclops with respect. They even made sure to show his Captain America-esque ricochet shots, his Daredevil-esque fighting skills, and especially what happens when he REALLY cuts loose
Yes! Thank you! This is the best version of Cyclops, and will forever be the model of how to adapt him from the comics!
This is why "Wolverine and the X-Men" was a poor follow-up for him (and pretty much everyone but Wolverine).

Hands down, _Evolution_ is the best show for Cyclops. Not to mention had a much better love triangle, even if it could be tiring
@@autobotjedi3457 Everyone praises WATXM, but the only good thing about it (to me) was the concept of preventing disasters. It's treatment of characters and their relationships outside of Wolverine was done poorly. Plus the Phoenix Arc was shoehorned in...
I've already posted paragraphs with my issue of the show on another video, but XME was much better--though I wish they had individual costumes like the 90s series, rather than group uniforms.
@@OpticalSorcerer thank you, you are a *blessing* for this subject. Characters aside from Wolverine were butchered in WATXM (and even he came off damaged), and I am upset by how few people recognize and criticize it for its obvious faults.
By the way, what other video did you leave a review under regarding WATXM and XME? I would like to see it.
And yeah, I see where you're coming from in regards to costumes. Granted, I have a soft spot for the standard uniform, but I really miss the outfits that made them "pop" in the comics - except Wolverine. I'm sorry if you like the original suit he had, but I will defend his black and orange costume til the day I die, and will personally never understand why blue and canary yellow were chosen for _the_ Wolverine.

@@Smell-Of-The-Game its been shown that its his entire eyes, not just the iris/pupils that shoot the beams. So contact lenses wouldnt quite work.
And unless he becomes lelouch vi brittannia, scott is NOT applying and removing those lenses fast enough to shoot and holster the beams.

You're wrong. Bishop is the one who can absorb kinetic energy. Blob's main superhuman ability was to become virtually immovable at will as long as he was in contact with the ground. He did this by bonding himself to the earth beneath him by force of will, which in effect created a mono-directional increase of gravity beneath him. This gravity field extended about five feet in radius from his center of balance. Thus if there were sufficient power to uproot him, it would take the ground beneath his feet in an area corresponding to the radius of the field. Through intense concentration, the Blob was able to extend the gravity field beneath him farther than five feet. It can be presumed with the onset of various manipulations to his physiology that Fred's core mutation had been restored.
I remember loving seeing him turn the tables on Mystique in the basement. After a whole episode of her giving him the run around and trying to toy with him, he turns the tables and puts her on the backfoot, using his limitations to his advantage.

Now this was animated Cyclops in his prime. A mostly calm, snarky, and friendly focused leader who cares about his teammates and knows how to get himself out of a jam with or without his powers. Every other version has been an absolute disappointment compared to this.

Gentle reminder that Cyclop's blasts are made of concussive force and not heat/laser or anything like that. So that football player at the beginning is *probably* not dead. *Probably*.
I mean he got beaned into an exploding propane tank, so probably dead.
Fun fact: in the ultimate universe, cyclops and toad had an unexpected friendship.

I loved his voice in this show. RIP to the voice actor.
This cyclops inspires me to be a better leader in my environments, not kidding. The guy is competent and charismatic as hell, and has a great heart above all. I'm really fascinated by this version!

Scott was amazing in this show. I'll admit it was weird to make him sexist in "Walk on the Wild Side" rather than highlighting his hero complex and survivor's guilt.
The bizarre thing is that it came out of nowhere and never came back again. It was literally that one episode

Havok should have circular patterns in his blasts. It’s his signature characteristic of his mutation. I am not sure why the animators did not consider that.
RIP Kirby Morrow. This cartoon was my introduction to the team. My late cousin, and I used to love watching it.

But what he should’ve done in the desert was to try using one eye open. Which would’ve been the first time in xmen history. But in the desert what he should’ve done was use his see through fingers to find his way around. Especially try using one eye open. Also blasting all those wolves to bits but for no reason held back

I miss old school Cyclops where when he's angry and takes of his visor and he would unleashed a huge Beam like a Kamehameha. Nowadays it's just a puny beam with or without the visor.
Are Cyclops eye lasers actual heat beams like Superman's? Or are they force push beams like a really hard punch or the force push from Star Wars? I fee like it's different things at different times for the convenience of the plot they are telling at that moment.
In the comics and animated adaptations they are concussive beams, in the Fox movies and Ultimate universe they are a straightup heat vision like Superman's

@@lightknight6749 I'm fully aware that it's his natural power but when they say the word POWERS with an 'S', i was expecting more than just one power the likes of Superman who has got a laser beam/heat vision, x-ray vision, heightened sense of hearing, he can fly, he can bend a heavy metal with his super strength, he can blow an enormous gust of air, he can lift a heavy object such as an airplane or a mountain, he can turbo rotate like a tornado.
