I loved them in X-Men The Animated Series, which is going to be picked up again from where it ended in the 90s. Them as teenagers in this show is cute though.
@stan-marsh-from-south-park but she loves Scott, so it's still a love triangle. Also, I heard that they were gonna end up together if they made another season after Jean dies from the Phoenix force.
Same here. This show made me care about Scoot and Jean as individual characters and their relationship. In fact, I'd describe their relationship in Evolution as kind of adorable.
X Men evolution hit me at the right time. This is how I want to see Scott and Jean portrayed. It seemed like every iteration afterwards, it was always depressed Cyclops or Jean MIA. There's something very sweet about these two never quite making the move even though they both felt something for the other. And key factor is that they're both have strong/confident personalities, but when it came their feelings for each other, they lost a lot of nerve until they couldn't deny it any longer which is very relatable.
I just love their chemistry as both like each other but are adorkable as they try to express their feelings. Everyone else ships them that they grow impatient for them to make the first move
@@Mockingjay1764It was supposed to happen much later, after Jean dies, and there’s a time skip... I’m not sure what Gambit was there for then. Me too! I just watched it earlier this year on Disney plus and was surprised with how much I liked it. My only problem with this is 3:32. They finally get together and have a satisfying relationship and this is the big reward moment. And in the next ep it’s almost like this didn’t even happen. I don’t need euphoria but at least X-men TAS/Spider-Man TAS could depict affection between two characters
@@patrick4662perhaps the show writers would’ve explored their relationship further if the show didn’t get canceled. Especially with the Dark Phoenix arc tease.
I loved it when they'd just saved Scott from Mystique and him and Jean officially become a couple, then the adults are just like, "About time!" It cracks me up every time I watch it.
I just love that scene in general. This is because Wolverine is more mature and he knows Jean and Scott better than in the other X Men series. What separates X Men Evolution from the other X-Men movies is that there was a lot of good relationship building not just with the teens but also with the adults. I felt that the X Men in the X Men Evolution series are more united, powerful, but crucially more supportive of each other during difficult times. During difficult times in the series they show more vulnerability but when this vulnerability is shown then that is where the characters are strong during difficult times.
Best version of the two and their relationship out of the many comics, shows, and movies! Thankfully spared from the annoying love triangles between them and Wolverine or Emma Frost, but at least the triangle here was with some random dude no one cared about lmao. Evolution really did great with these two and I hope they’re just like this in the MCU.
X-men evolution was my first introduction to X-men You wouldn't believe how shocked and weirded out I was when in the Fox trilogy Logan had a thing for Jean and feuded with Scott over her.
From what I’ve seen from people that follow the X-Men comics, fans who find the pairing boring prefer Scott and Emma (due to their relationship adding a realist pov on Mutant struggles) or are Chris Claremont shipping Jean with Logan.
the reason it’s boring is because back then Logan was more popular, writers and even directors for the movies thought Logan should be the center and that there should be a feud between him and Scott over Jean, hence why this weird love triangle was born, and even in the comics Scott and Emma wasn’t intentional rather if you read closely the reason why it happens is because Jean loved Scott so much that she put mental blocks in Scott’s head so that he can move on and not mourn over her forever. but everyone who truly knows x men knows that Scott and Jean are the best couple and that no matter the weird love triangles/squares they always are each others first and only choice cuz they love each other that much
A lot of people prefer Scott with Emma because they are more “interesting” but those two are toxic together. It started off with Emma taking advantage of Scott when he was at his most vulnerable, and he turned more villainous when he got into a relationship with her. With that in mind, I don’t understand why they’d want Scott and Emma together just because they are “interesting” together. I digress. I prefer Scott and Jean together. Although I have a soft spot for Wolverine and at times wished he had his moment with Jean, Jean belongs with Scott. Logan is a better match with Storm. People just want drama, but truth is most healthy relationships are “boring” like Scott and Jean’s relationship. It means there is stability. Truth is their relationship was never boring, they have so many adventures together and love each other deeply.
The cookie scene was a good symbolism of feminism done right. Jean & the other girls just wanted to be treated as an equal and not a "weaker sex" as she said. Some cartoons go way overboard with it (especially when it comes to Wonder Woman) but Evo's girl power episode was done really well
It's even funnier when you realize that there's only one cookie left because Scott has been eating them the whole episode, like he eats them in at least two other scenes before he shares the last one with Jean.
How ironic. Two teenagers who are mutants both trying to blend in with human society including going to school with normal humans. When they're not too busy with school those two and their teammate do some mutant fighting in the shadows
☺️🥰🥰🥰🥰 amo mucho a Scott summers ..... Ah los 6y 7 años fue mi crush la primera vez que lo ví en la película x men Yo siempre he shippeado a esta pareja .... 😿Scott summers porque no existes 🥲💗💋
This show is the main reason why I didn’t like the Scott/Jean/Logan triangle and the Jean and Logan, if someone put the idea that Jean is with someone my first thought is Scott (I don’t read alot of comics so don’t bash me too must)
@Serendipityj.That's only because they planned that Jean would die and there would be a time skip. But that was an utterly stupid idea and whoever came up with this, apparently just wanted to sabotage the show. It would completely riun the characters and make Rougue look like a substitute- which she was.
It's not a trope. If you don't think lots of women (and their corresponding depictions in media) can/should be strong and independent naturally, then that just shows how limited your thinking is for people and their media portrayals.
Making them teens and having Wolverine be a mentor figure instead of a 3rd wheel was honestly refreshing
Mystique was a love interest to Wolverine in this universe
The third wheel shit with Wolverine is getting straight up creepy in the 97. Like it’s been 5 years… get over it
@@MarvelDCFan4004 That was Wolverine & The X-Men.
We did had a third wheel in the show, but that's with that high school jock Duncan, which even then we knew he was bad news.

But what about Gambit? It looked like they were going to have Rogue move on from Scott and be with Gambit.
Some of the best writing in the show were the Scott/Jean interactions.
The fact that this show made me care about Cyclops & Jean's relationship is definitely surprising.

Somehow the iteration of the X-men as mostly teens is the least melodramatic.
A good thing about them being teenagers in this show is that there’s no reason for Logan to want to get in the way and stir up conflict
