What do you do when you can't take your dog outside for a walk?

We would be in big trouble! We live in a condo and have a 15-16 month old high-energy Lab/Terrier who walks/potties throughout the day. We have no basement or alternative space indoors. Our dog would be climbing the walls. We do have multiple times of "play time" and training times together indoors and times of free running/ball retrieving in an enclosed tennis court but this is an outdoor location.

Hi, new subscriber here and i love the channel. recently my family has taken in a rescue dog after our dog Abby passed away. ( after 14 very happy years together) he is a catahola leopard dog and after a husky , he is a bit of a change but we love him and he is adapting quite well , My question is , are working dog breeds like the Catahola good family dogs? I hear all the time that working breeds are not but that doesnt seem to be the case with Wendall. Thank you so much for the information and please keep up the good work.

It really depends Shawn. The breed helps you identify some possible traits and needs, but then each dog is really its own individual. It's true that working dogs have high drive, needs lots of exercise and mental stimulation. But if those needs are met, they can be great within a family dynamic. Any dog, if their needs are not met will not do great in a household. Conversely, any dog, whose needs are met, can do really well in a house! It really comes down to knowing the breed, and then meeting the needs of that specific dog in front of you too. Thanks for the sub!

I put a few pieces of dry food in the lick mat and then fill it with water and freeze it. almost no calories and basically no cost.

Love this! Some dogs will engage with lower value food like this - and it definitely is more convenient and cost effective! 😜
I like to switch up what I put in my lick mats as additional enrichment. Would love to hear about other combos you’ve tried.

@@TheKindCanine I dont switch up the mat. with so many games and toys that have food as a reward, I just use water in the mat. also you can use a plastic ice cube tray instead if a lick mat. I alternate PB & wet food frozen in a marrow bone. he loves those. he brings it to me when he's finished so I can load it up for the next day. he doesnt know that Im supposed to be the boss around here.
