Narrative and power are two different things. Infernape may have a better story but Sceptile was better in power department

I think greninja should be first. I know people like charizard more. But greninja has a special bond form, and when it returned on pokemon journey's, he was so fast that I think he is the strongest of them all

If Ash went to Paldea I personally think his ace would be Armarouge because I think it would have the same character arc as Lucario (He won't hatch him) for example thriving to be stronger, form an unbreakable bond with Ash, be terastilized if things are critical and being a cold character (Ironically), he would also have a rivalry against a Ceruledge

I’ve been watching Pokémon since the very beginning and it has had many memorable moments. But the one that I still remember vividly(other than Pikachu defeating Leon’s Charizard) was its first time using bond evolution. It hit me so hard I had to rewatch it several times because I was in complete disbelief. I was dumbfounded.

Greninja wow why at 4 it should be 1 or 2
1. Infernape (carried Ash’s Sinnoh team in the second half)
2. Greninja (only Pokémon in the league that actually challenged Alain)
3. Lucario (stood out on a team with so many strong Pokémon)
4. Charizard (love the boy, but its persona in the Indigo League hurts it)
5. Sceptile (would be higher if it wasn’t so mediocre in Hoenn. Battle Frontier was when it took over)
6. Lycanroc (not even Ash’s strongest Alolan Pokémon)
7. Krookodile (wasn’t used enough. If it was treated more like an ace, it would be higher)

Imo, Infernape should be above Sceptile due to its type advantage and how Sinnoh hyped up its Blaze ability to the point that he doesnt stop himself from training with Ash other Fire Pokemon including Charizard
If Greninja is already this powerful in his base form when Ash and Lucario went to visit it in Journeys, think about how powerful he is when he goes into the Ash Greninja form 😍😍

There’s also that moment in Ash’s gym battle with Brycen, where Krookodile as a Krokorok defeated another pokemon that normally has the type advantage being Brycen’s ace of all pokemon Beartic.
As much I would’ve liked to see infernal at 2 and charizard at 1, but I can’t say that I really disagree with your list. I’m really glad you mentioned charizard protecting ash from entei because to me that was such an iconic moment that has stuck with my since childhood

Heracross would've been great against Whitney, Jasmine and Pryce with Fighting type advantage if wasn't Oaknapped
Krookodile's story of debuting before badge 1 but not being owned and used by Ash until after badge 5 was what hurt it. If Ash caught right at debut and used against Elesa, Clay and even Roxie than would've had a much bigger impact.
I agree on both points! Ash should’ve used Heracross in at least ONE Johto Gym battle! Maybe Clair or Pryce?

Heracross wasn't really an ace tbh. His ace Pokemon for both Kanto and Johto was Charizard, as both regions were part of the OG series

Not sure if it's worth calling Heracross his Johto ace given his win record in reality wasn't on the good side. He had more losses than wins
Although thankfully u agree with me on who the Alola ace is. Lycanroc. To anyone who thinks it's Incineroar, no. Incineroar may have beaten Kukui's own incineroar before fully evolving, but then he wasted his potential afterwards by never battling again. What good is being fully evolved if you won't even fight in your peak form? I don't wanna assume he's stronger, I actually wanna see it
Lycanroc thankfully didn't waste his potential. He got quite a few wins, had some amazing development, basically soloed a grand trial on his own, and he is the reason Ash became the champion of Alola. He even has a rare form which makes him unique to Ash, just like Greninja's transformation and Lucario's aura link with his trainer

I had to put Charizard at number 1 because the whole concept of bond power ups being available back in Kanto would’ve changed things greatly for him. We can’t ignore Ash saving it’s life and forming arguably a bond on par with Greninja and Lucario. If those two are stronger as a result of bonds with Ash then I believe with more screen time Charizard would’ve pushed itself ahead of the pack. Greninja gets the second spot not just for my previously mentioned nods to Charizard but because of Pikachu as well. Alain’s Charizard was such a powerhouse but he got crucified by Leon’s Charizard while in base form.
Place the others wherever you like but I feel the top two spots are cemented.

I’d say Lucario is 3 and Sceptile is 4 given Lucario’s insane feats against champion level trainers and their dynamax Pokémon which Sceptile didn’t quite do. Otherwise I agree with everything else

How is Charizard his Kanto ace when it caused him to lose the league? Ash was literally unworthy to be his trainer until the orange islands. Swellow carried the hoenn region, Sceptile didn't come until the battle frontier
Because when push came to shove , Charizard was the one he relied on.
Had it not been for Charizard, Ash would never have beaten Blaine and thus not qualified for the league.
As for Sceptile, valid point but when people refer to Hoenn, they also include the battle frontier unit along since League was only half the point of the AG series.

I feel like Lycanroc is extremely overrated. It’s not a bad Pokémon at all, and it did defeat three Pokémon in a row. But compared to everyone else’s achievements Lycanroc simply wasn’t that amazing. If it didn’t win Ash the league then it wouldn’t be so loved

I think charizard should be no. 1 u k... I mean cmon u can't decide someone's power with phenomenas and bond evolution is kind of upgraded mega evolution.... In its base form however its nowhere near the og charizard
First of all Greninja didn't almost beat diantha's ace she was just waiting to see what was special about them. If she wanted a real battle then it would have finished so soon so plz don't add that on his feats....and one more think about Ash'sLucario..first time they met Lucario was so impressed and jealous of Greninja bond with ash... But after they understand themselves.. Lucario, Ash and Greninja both have the same "Bond"and if they battle now both can predict themselves they can even sense from km away then lucario can surely sense greninja's attack...so blind speed technique of greninja wont work as the same it will be a strong matchup....but the results of that battle will be too hard to predict the winner because Lucario has stronger attacks and defense but Greninja has speed and splAttack...If you ask me

@@thatboyminus 😀 Greninja is my fav pokemon but still this is a serious fact most of us ignore to think that Lucario isn't the same after that episode .Dont judge him by the way he was at the beginning of episode108 even at the end of that episode It wasnt Greninja's Bond water shrunken it was Lucario's Bond Aura Sphere which completely destroyed that big negative root🤷♂️

@@thatboyminus idk maybe its because Im a relatively new fan (started watching around the time of gen 5), so i don't have the nostalgia, but I've always thought Charizard was kinda just a catoonish orange dragon, and in the last few years the genwunners just ruined it completely. In my childhood my favorite dragon was Toothless 😅
