Here is my rankings but I have ranked them only on the basis of strength and not character development: 1. Ash's Journeys team 2. Ash's Alola team 3. Ash's Kalos team 4. Ash's Sinnoh team 5. Ash's Kanto team( including Orange Islands) 6. Ash's Hoenn team( including battle frontier) 7. Ash's Unova team 8. Ash's Johto team I haven't ranked his Orange Islands team as a different team as it was mostly made up of Pokemon caught by Ash in the Kanto region, so I have just included the pokemon he caught in the Orange Islands in his Kanto team and for the same reason I have also included Ash's Aipom that he caught in Kanto while the Battle frontier series was going on and all of his Hoenn pokemon that evolved in the said series in his Hoenn team
I was looking for a vid of ash’s teams ranked by purely strength. No character development weight in. For me, if it was just based off strength it’d be: 1. Journeys: had a mega, gigantamx, and a Z-move. Not to mention a pseudo, and two underrated pokemon in Sir Fetched and Dracovish. Made the best trainer in the world. 2. Alola: ultra beast, a mythical, a Z-move Pikachu, 2 starters, and a borderline ace in Lycanroc. Made him a champ of a legit league. 3. Kalos: a sort of mega, ash’s first pseudo fully evolved, Pikachu the goat, and 3 really strong pokemon in Hawlucha, Talonflame, and Noivern. The best non winning team. 4. Sinnoh: pikachu, a top 5 ace in Infernape, torterra(with negative plot armor), underrated buizel, best regional bird, and Glyscore. 5: Hoenn: Pikachu, and Sceptile carries this team. Torkoal is horrible, but Corphish is good not great. His bird is great but not elite, and glailie is forgettable. Donphan is good in rotation. 6: Orange: Great team but Orange league isn’t legit. Charizard was a goat, but Pikachu was better in later seasons. Tauros was solid, Snorlax imo is top 8 pokemon ash ever owned. Strong overall, but the weakest of the strong teams. 7. Johto: Bayleef and heracross are super solid, and Pikachu is good. Cyndaquil and totodile are weak. No towel the weakest bird he had. 8. Kanto: Charizard carries. Rest of the team sucks and are overachievers at best. 9. Unova: Should release everyone on this team except Krook😂
I think Lapras performed well in that battle. Like it tied with Gengar if Lapras hadn't tied with Gengar than Ash would have struggled to defeat that genger like he always had problems with Ghost or dark types
How come no one talks about the battle frontier team? Man had sceptile, donphan, heracross, corpish, swellow and pikachu. Pretty sure he used snorlax also in a fight but I could be wrong

My Ranking: 1. Sinnoh. So much development, great series after all, great team, boy imagine if Gible evolved into his final form 2. Kalos: Maybe Stronger than Sinnoh, all pokemon got time to shine until Battle Bond Greninja, but thats not an excuse for that 3. Galar: Ash Strongest team, however, lack of development, maybe Lucario got more time on screen idk, but one of the best series just before Diamond and Pearl Alola: Ash became champion with this team, Melmetal should be strong enough, but we couldn't see his full potential, overall good team and good series Hoenn (Battle frontier): Defeating a Piramid leader is not a game, a, i think pokemon got the time to shine, but Ash didnt use those for the final battle vs Brandon Hoenn: lol imagine getting beated by a trainer who ace's was Meowth lol, in other news, we couldn't see their full potential, some pokemon are forgetable, and what the hell is that electric shield? Orange Islands: Literally gen 1 kid team, but is solid enough, all of them didnt got enough time, but they made Ash enter the hall of fame. Kanto: Charizard was enough to solo the entire pokemon league, but for this reason, there are pokemon that didn't shine. Unova: Literally Krokodile carried, and geating beated by an unexperienced trainer is what the hell, i guess the Sinnoh Ash could do better than this.
I like this ranking and you made some great points. With the Alola team I do wish we got a few more battles out of mons like Naga and Melmetal or even the newly evolved Incineroar!
Oh my God, this was literally almost point for point on my ranking. I guess I just focused too much on Journeys strength and not personality. Not to mention I forgot his Orange Islands team
My fav is definitely Alola team. The team got him the title of a freaking regional champion. The personality of Pokemon were great. Lycanroc's Rivalry, Litten past and determination to defeat kukui's Incineroar, Melmetal and rowlett funny personality

He defeated 2 pokemon in the final, one of them being Kukui’s ace Incineroar as a Torracat, he never battled as an Incineroar, but as a Torracat he was already amazing
