    I see that this was done 3 years ago but I have trouble with my tension because of the arthritis in my hands and I think this necklace would help with any kind of knitting I'm going to get one

    I know you have mentioned in one of your videos you still like best the Portuguese pin but if someone like myself was new to Portuguese knitting, which have you seen people like most….pins or necklaces?
    I tried few years ago but since I’ve been knitting since I was 6 or 7, I went back to throwing. This week watched your videos, tried again and love it. Knitting much slower but really enjoy it so much and actually didn’t change back to comfort of throwing.
    Want to learn how to do more with Portuguese knitting!
    Thank you!!😊

    Obrigado por fazer este vídeo. Você se parece muito com uma das minhas tias, então fiquei um pouco enfeitiçado o tempo todo. Está muito frio onde estou em Ste. Anne, Manitoba Canadá, mas meu tricô sempre me mantém aquecido. Eu também sou joalheiro, então consegui fazer uma, até conseguir comprar uma. Mais uma vez, muito obrigado por compartilhar seu presente!

    Thank you for your great tutorials. I love doing Portuguese knitting. Can crochet be done in style as well?

    • @AndreaWongKnits
      @AndreaWongKnits  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thank you! I am glad you enjoy them! Yes, absolutely. You can crochet with the pin exactly the same way, tensioning the yarn on the pin. One day I will make a video on that too.

    Hi Andrea! I’m currently knitting some stranded knitting socks… so, they are very easy in Portuguese-style, doing purl for the stranded knitting. UNTIL… the heel turn and gussett… do you have any patterns that will guide me through these steps without resorting to a short-row/switching to knitting… then switching back again for the foot? I want to continue working this sock “inside-out.”

    • @AndreaWongKnits
      @AndreaWongKnits  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@anissalong1340 well, the heel is flat, so it’s back and forth. You can use K1,sl1 or seed stitch or honeycomb stitch. I have a video on how to pick up stitches purl wise on the flaps of the heel after you turn it. From that part on, you are still on the purl side and on circular mode again. Does that make sense ? My video is free here at my TH-cam channel! Please let me know.

    I am pretty new to knitting, after trying for years to learn with the throwing method, but found continental style works for me. I am used to holding my yarn in my left hand, so would I need to change how the necklace is facing, to use this method with the necklace? Thank you.

    • @AndreaWongKnits
      @AndreaWongKnits  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am sorry for the late reply but I had a long vacation last month!
      If you are using the necklace to tension the yarn, you do not need to use the Continental method, because the necklace will replace your left hand. Does that make sense?

    • @nobleelf
      @nobleelf ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope your vacation was all you wished! Yes, that makes perfect sense! And I have an all purl piece that I will try the Portuguese method! Thank you

    También hubiera sido importante que la cámara del video enfocara el tejido desde el hombro de la tejedora para poder ver el tejido con mas claridad, enfocar solo desde el frente creo que no permite visualizar con claridad el trabajo. No se ustedes pero yo no entendí como se hace el tejido portugués.

      Thank you for your comment, I will make sure I video from my shoulder next time. This video is just to demonstrate the necklace. I have other videos and classes on my website to show you how to knit Portuguese Style.
