    Bugattis are for the weaker but more civilized man. This is for the really hardcore, strong, gutsy guys...therefore, this car is more fun.

    but anyways, flappy paddles if you WISH to change gear, the clutch to start at high rpm, don't touch anything and everything goes by itself

    It is the the same guy who drove that Porsche 997 GT3 RS on mountain road being outdone by the Bugatti Veyron. He was completely surprised by the Veyron handling on twisted road. As the other poster said, Caparo T1 is not in the same category.

    Because there are two seats...
    They're not right next to each other though, the passenger seat is offset back behind the driver's.
    Granted it's not particularly comfortable, but hey it works.

    Acceleration and launch are two different things. The Veyron has AWD, so it launches faster, but accelerates slower. The T1 is RWD, so the tires spin, and it launches slower, but accelerates faster. This car weighs as much as a Formula 1 car, with only about 200 less horsepower.

      700 bhp on methanol
      2017 f1 750 kg 950 bhp
      weight/horsepower ratio is actually better for the new caparo

    Does this car come with alternative engine mappings for the ECU? I don't I would dare drive this car with full power on the road.. Not with the infamous throttle response it got.

    @TVRnGTR horsepower has absolutely nothing to do with handling, and the enzo is a stripped track car, so considering all the luxury the ssc has its pretty good

      that is a semi auto (sequential gearbox)

    the nardos 5 mile straight is just a 5 mile straight, it's not a track, it's just a strip so that supercar manufacturers can set top speeds.
    The caparo makes so much down force and the veyron is so powerful that at high speeds the t1's power to weight ratio means absolutely nothing, and the veyron would reel it in. But thats on a 5 mile straight track. I dont think that that really matters

    besides, if you have $100k to spend on a car you can afford $300k as well.
    the caparo t1 is a production car, the ultima is a kit car manufactured from prefabricated parts.

    @TVRnGTR everything a luxury car has, a/c, 10 speaker bose stereo, sat nav, rear view camera, cd/dvd player, leather or alcantara interior, recardo seats and more. it actually has more toys than a veyron

    yeah i agree wth u and i get ur point the buggatti veyron is used as the performance bench mark for all cars way to much these days and in terms of track performance the veyron is to heavy for causeing the most devastateing performance the veyron doess most of the dammage on str8 lines and u could compare the caparo t1 to an areil atom 3 but come the caparo T1 will embaress the atom and i love the atom and when u think about it barelley anything can even touch the capoaro t1.

    i can;t imagine where cars will go next...i bet in 20-30 years, family cars will be able to go from 0-60 in 3-4 seconds, and supercars will be able to do it in >1. incredible.

    This car needs some slicks, a turbo, giving it 150 more hp, one seat, and a F2 car to race against.

    Yes they can, and they do. The Veyron is miles faster off the line than the F1. Here are some times of the Bugatti Veyron:
    0-100 km/h / 62 mph: 2.5 secs
    0-200 km/h / 125 mph: 7.3 secs
    0-300 km/h / 186 mph: 16.7 secs

    Apart from the fact that it caught fire when Jason Plato drove it for 5th gear, and a floorpanel came loose when Clarkson drove it on Top Gear.

    Koenigsegg CCX did Top Gear test track at 1m20.4
    With 'Top Gear suggested rear wing CCX did TG track at 1m17.6
    Caparo T1 did Top Gear track 1m10.6 anyone

    mclaren = manual transmission
    ssc = manual transmission
    mclaren = rear wheel drive
    ssc = rear wheel drive

    That may be true, but I think a T1 with 190kg on board would still beat a Veyron with a 50kg driver under braking, it would accelerate faster up to probably 150 at least and would be cornering faster too. The only track the Veyron would beat the T1 around is the Ehra-Lessien. Though if money was no object I would much rather have a Veyron or better still a McLaren F1. The T1s reliability record is pretty terrifyingly bad at the moment

    No it doesn't! The Bugatti Veyron is a completely different type of car, one that's meant to be both fast and luxurious. The Caparo T1 will be a road car, but it's definitely a track-use designed car. Two awesome cars, and two different purposes.

    I laugh at people that compare this to the Ultima GTR.
    The Ultima is a GT style car. As in it is NOT OPEN WHEELed. I just think that it looses it's Road Car status when you have a open wheeled chassis.
    Plus did I research correctly? Caparo T1 is $480,000 AHaha The Ultima GTR720 can be had for $120k

    Yeah I can easily see family cars doing that in 20-30 although most wont cos theyll be made for economy. Cant really see cars ever getting under 2 seconds, because of the limitations of rubber and tarmac, but I could easily see a bunch of cars doing it in 2 in 30 years. I think the new McLaren is the biggest jump we've seen for a while. A junior supercar as fast as anything to 60 and keeps up with most stuff to 100. The 300k+ hyper cars are going to look very silly when that thing comes out

    comparisons with the Veyroni are pointless. You have to wear a helmet in this for a kickoff and as far as comfort goes.. well there isnt any.
    This is just like a radical or any other completely stripped and lightweight cars with a big engine in the back.
    Veyron still the king of cars :)

    ya. the real way to get a faster car is to reduce the weight. not to add hp. its simple logic.less wt= less complexity and handling problems.
    the caparo t1 has 500 hp and goes 0-60 0-100 faster than a veyron and an ssc with 1000 and 1200hp. The mclaren f1 GTR has 600hp and goes 125-190 in 5s. Thats even faster than a porsche 9ff which has 950hp.And guess what, they were both built by Gordon Murray.

    the ultima gtr cant corner and brake at 3g. it cant do 0-100-0 in less than 7.5s. The caparo is in a totally different league.
    this car is faster round a track than a formula 3 car. the only cars which are supposedly faster are f1: words by steve himself in autocar website.
    wud you rather own your own f1 team for $100 million or your own road legal f1 for $300k?

    stupid comments about the environment. that engine is designed for le mans prototypes and so is relatively efficient. the MPG will be much better than all your horrific 'yank tanks'.
    and as for crash safety, did you see Kovalainen's crash in a mclaren formula 1 car. same principles employed in this car.
    i've been waiting for years for someone to have the balls to make a car like this. i hope it generates some real business for Caparo Vehicle Technologies.
    Would like to have seen more of a LMP

    The reason its faster than the Veyron is because it has about erm... zero luxuries? The veyron is so special because it is pretty much a normal car with the special stats. The Caparo is just a racing car made legal.
    Good, but its like comparing two different species. Pointless?

In that case, I can tell you that the Caparo T1 was built to be the most extreme roadlegal trackdaycar. As for the speed bump thing, it can actually go over them, the Caparo team fitted electronic noselifters for every T1.

    No one is going to drive it to the track because it really doesn't make sense to do so-what if you wreck? And the first thing an owner would do is change the tires for ones that are much grippier but not street legal. This car makes no sense because it does not conform to any spec so the only people you would ever race against would be other T1 owners. If you love single seater racing just buy a paid seat in Formula 3 for $100-200K a season, much faster and you're actually competing.

    Very much slower then an F3 car. Braking performance and cornering performance are much inferior to an F3. Straightline speed isn't that different, especially with so much power and little weight. Braking is where the speed comes from when comparing the two. Carbon brakes ftw.

    @ASSHOLELA See I think of the Ultima as a production car, they sell it in a fully assembled car. Besides how can you call the Caparo a production road car? It is open cockpit, basically open wheel, and no a/c, radio, etc etc.
    What did the Caparo T1 record on the Top Gear track 1min 10.6sec? The Ultima did 1min 9.9sec.
    Top Gear tested the T1 they said it handled poorly unless it is going really fast. Jeremy said that is has lots of under steer and I quote he said "Oh God this is a Disaster".

    I don't know about that, the veyron does handle really well, and is fast around the track. You can't criticize it for being luxurious. It is a bit of a show off car, but the people who end up buying the caparo are going to be just as big a twats as the veyron bunch.
