Thanks Jeanne and Mikey. One of the things I dislike about granny squares are all those holes and I especially dislike having it on a baby blanket. I may just try this. I have a new grand-nephew😘
I do agree with you! I hate holey blankets…😂 They aren’t warm & I or grandbabies end up getting their fingers & toes caught in the holes…😖 This pattern doesn’t look holely… 😆
Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial with us❣️ I love to crochet unique dishcloths/washcloths/potholders & gift them to family, friends & charity. I am going to try to do one with Lily’s Sugar & Cream cotton & see how it turns out. Truly appreciate your tutorials, they help me so much more than a written pattern. Blessings to all 🙋🏻♀️🦋💜
I love this stitch. I love that it makes a very dense fabric not all these holes like in the regular granny stitch and with personality. I will be making a blanket but not square it will be rectangular. Thanks so much for sharing.
I love how fast the pattern works up. I'm definitely going to try this one very soon. I have several WIP's but I think I'm going to have to start this one soon lol
I love this stitch! First, on the check off list you showed, if someone wanted to keep adding rounds, it looks like you would just be adding 4 stitches to each round. (The exceptions would possibly be the single crochet and slip-stitched rounds.) Also, If you make "motifs" the size you used for the tutorial, you could then play around with different colors to change things up a bit. Then, stitch the "motifs" together to make a super cool afghan! (Can we say stash buster?!) I will DEFINITELY be playing around with this idea! Great tutorial. --Gwendy in mid-MO
Thank you for this pattern Mikey!! I but up yarn people no longer want and got to use up skeins of Caron Wintuk 100% Orlon yarn (1960-70s) made by DuPont. Made a beautiful baby blanket, trying to clean out my massive collection!! Awesome video!!! ❤😊❤
Could this be done in a long row? I am wanting to make an accent blanket for the foot of my bed. Or maybe I could do 2 blocks then sew them together. Hope that makes sense. Love the look of this.
I notice this was posted only 10 months ago. Beautiful pattern. My question is where to find the Soft Essentials yarn! I have been looking for it for 3 months. Started a blanket and ran out of yarn and now I can’t find it!!
I just searched for it a bit but I don't know which retailer carries this yarn. If you email Yarnspirations through their website, they can tell you. Most of the colours are sold out but I am unsure if the yarn is discontinued or so popular that it's sold out. Just message them and they can check. I don't access to this information for what the stores carry specifically. That's the fastest way to find out.
Hi Mikey, I have this book. It is for knitting but because it's full of graphs I think I could convert it. What do you think. Its called the complete book of traditional fair Isle knitting.
How does this square turn into a rectangle? I want my finished blanket to be a twin sized rectangle. NO answer after 2 months ❗ Obviously someone not worth following.

I used this pattern to make a hexagon cardigan for my little brother and it came out amazing and super easy to adjust

What a fascinating pattern! Thx Jeanne & Mikey!
I love this! I already started a baby blanket using the Mandala yarn, so I don't have to switch colors. :)
Cute!! A crochet worksheet...great idea!!!!!
Starting this as my next prayer shawl lap blanket. Thanks for clear directions!
Can't wait to make this, I don't like the holes either Jeannie, especially for a blanket.🥰
I really love this stitch and it’s fast moving. An amazing upgrade of the granny stitch! Thx!
Oh I LOVE the table with the stitch counts and color!!❤❤❤

Actually it is 4 stitches per side or 16 total stitches per round
Thank you! I was just about to comment asking if you could use this pattern and make it bigger
Like the texture. Very pretty.

This is something I think I can make.
This is lovely!!

This is beautiful 🧡🇬🇧
Thank you Mikey and Jeannie! If you "practiced" these five rows and 2 borders in 100% cotton, it would make a fabulous hot pad!!
Really lovely. TY!

"Daniel is on the tractor." Not something you see on just ANY ol' crochet post! 😁
I'm still pretty right? 😂 Awesome pattern, I can actually make this. I'm a beginner.
