This song was written in 1955 by Carlos Eleta Almarán (from Panama) (1918-2013)
The song tells of a man’s suffering after his love has disappeared.
The song was first written as a Bolero in 1955 and then first recorded as a Tango in 1956 by Héctor Varela and his orchestra. After that it has been sung and played by many artists, including by Dalida (already in 1957, see the video link below), a beautiful version by Luz Casal, by the Mexican singer Guadalupe Pineda, and recently (2015) it was covered by “Il Volo” on their album “Amor y Pasión” (Love & Passion).
