    Bought a Strandberg Original? - the least expensive model - pre-pandemic with the intention of using is as a travel guitar. The travel died with the pandemic, but the guitar is still here. I did swap out the pickups for Tom Anderson HF1/2 set. The originals were too "metallic" for my taste. (Tom Anderson made pickups before he made guitars and they're very reasonably priced - at the high end of Duncans.). Took about an hour to adjust to the neck and the angled frets. Highly recommend.

      Glad to hear you're enjoying your .strandberg*. I still love mine. Every other guitar seems a little alien compared to it. I do like the Suhr pickups in mine, and may be more prone to 'metallic' 😃

    loved the review on here. I am a die hard ibanez fan and was going to get their new headless for playing at my desk/traveling.. until i played a strangberg and was blown away. everything about it fit me perfectly.

      Guitars are a very subjective thing. They need to 'speak' to you and fit your physicality and playing style. Thankfully there are a metric assload from which to choose. I just sold an 11 pound Les Paul that was the opposite of my .strandberg... and may have been more to your liking. Thanks for watching!

    Hi guys, i´m a Strandberg fanboy as well but i just want to draw attention to a funfact: The drummer has almost the same voice as Donald Trump! So he could say things like "Strandberg first..." or so. 😂 Maybe his nickname should be "Drump" 🤣Greetings from germany, Frank

      Thanks for the reply! The honeymoon phase is over, and the Boden is still my #1 guitar. The only thing I'm not entirely thrilled with is the color, but that's obviously subjective. I'd prefer red or blue. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and all that.

    Nice video. Do u have a band?

    • @3randommonkeys
      @3randommonkeys  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The two of us have been in a few bands together over the last few decades. Our primary bands are Malignari, a hard rock/heavy metal band, and The Shrieking Eels, which is a catch-all of everything we write that isn't hard rock or heavy metal. We've toyed with Irish Folk, as well as gigging with such an eclectic set list that the club owners had difficulty finding compatible bands with whom to play. We've enjoyed a few other projects together as well over the last 35 years. Thanks for watching!

      If budget was a serious consideration, but weight and ergonomics were still priorities, I think I'd try one or more of the sub $500 headless guitars on eBay, like the Eart brand. That might be a path that works for you. Best of luck in the future!

      @3randommonkeys  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have boden metal nx 8 string right now but i want to swap it for something with floating bridge and prog nx7 looks like great option. @3randommonkeys  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I really like the floating bridge on the Boden Prog NX6. Seems to stay in tune as well as my other guitars with a Floyd Rose. It does take more effort for crazy theatrics, but that's not typically my whammying. Good luck!!!

      @@3randommonkeys it would be my first guitar with floating bridge and most important thing for me is ease of use and tuning, and i see that its not really a problem overall, but, as i said, there is not so many reviews of it and its always nice to speak with someone who owns one :)

      I have several guitars with floating bridges: Floyd Rose, Fender, G&L, Chinesium, etc. This .strandberg* bridge keeps in tune as well as I could expect, and much better than my Fenders. My problem is that when I do go to tune, my muscle memory has me always reaching for the tuning pegs on the now-non-existent headstock! :-)@@paskudne

    Vol in wrong place, neck ridges should be less sharp, output jack is fully lame. Yes, Strandberg has issues, and more coming, from the looks of it. Due diligence is required, but they are nice guitars...if the limited ergonomics works for you, and you have the money. Quality control is non-existent, and customer service has...um...issues, so look it over! Still deciding if I'll make a better body for mine. Silly mistakes in design, seriously, but headed in right direction, if the company can get it together...so I'll probably be modding mine.

      @@3randommonkeysMine is in great shape...I think the TT ones from Indonesia were paid a lot more attention to. I'm just feeling a bit confined on it due to my minor issues with ergonomics...all of which can be dealt with, since I can afford it. But, if they would just make a made in Sweden neck-through TT, I'd get in line, especially if they did their 'made to order' again, which I doubt will happen :O) All in all I hope they keep growing...and keep innovating and updating.

      @@3randommonkeys There is nothing friendly about the cost of these and for that amount of money they could pay closer attention. But, there is no easy way to get a good guitar with TT frets. Nobody here does them, they closed the Texas shop...sad really.
