With arthritis in my left arm and being a right handed player I was barely playing anymore, until I bought my Boden. I've gone from the odd 20 minute session to playing for up to an hour.
dammit ... again ... i may never play again cus of lost my hearing and had such horrible physical pains get tin the way and i could have used this guitar so much.. motehfffff.. maybe i should sell the rest of my guitars and hope my ears can recover before i die if htey can or that my body could handle the pains id have had the will to push through that for the music. i needed to move also from this sh apartment so i could actually make noise. prob am gonna die before i get a chance. oh well. sorry im being a bummer i dont care too much though. lol. people dont know.. people dont care. im not a drama queen or someone that exaggerates but i didnt have any options left. people arent built to really care unless its like a specific sutiation where theyre close to you already. i wish life was more mathematically fair, but its not at all. some people just get royally screwed and it never ends.
@@Stringz Sorry I’ve just seen this, I don’t get notifications for some replies for some reason. Take this for what you will but I’m so sorry that you’ve ended up in that situation. I can’t imagine or put myself on your shoes but losing that can’t be easy to say the least. I empathise with you deeply and would love to be able to give you some answers but it’s probably out of my control. All I can do is sincerely hope that you find some way to engage with music if that’s what you want to do but otherwise, I hope you find some joy in whatever you choose to do instead. Thank you for watching my silly video, it means a lot!
I agree with your assessment - I have 2 Strandbergs and it is so easy to just "fall into them" and play, no pain no strain. Ergonomics and playability aside, they have marvelous tone.
Though i'm not much into headless guitars, I see their rise of popularity as a very good sign for the guitar industry. Improvements of this instrument has been hold back for SO LONG because of some kind of snobish culture among guitar players (you know, that "I don't care about modern stuff, I want exactly what Jimmy Page was using in 1962!"). But now, finally, we get to see a solid bunch of evolutions. New neck shapes, more ergonomic body shapes, fanned and true temperament frets, new fretboard radiuses, improved tuning tech, new bridges system (hello Evertune)… Definitely a good path imo.
You’re totally right again my dude, 100%! Guitar is so routed in tradition that it’s hard for any real innovation to take off. To me Strandberg are really at the forefront of making the electric guitar something more than it’s been for decades and that’s definitely the right path. There’s space for modern and traditional but having the option is what really matters! Thanks again bro 🤘
U know I feel the same way my left shoulder hurts left arm hurts also right hand player I should sell my guitars too ❤❤ thanks man great video good idea 😮
@@guitarpoetone1 I can’t tell if this is completely serious but, if it is, I’m not saying you should sell all your stuff 😂 I just did it because playing means a lot to me and I had to take a chance, you know? With injuries like mine from BJJ it’s probably not going to go away so if I can prolong my playing then it’s worth thinking about. Thanks for checking out the video mate, I do appreciate it. Ps. If I was balling I would have probably just bought the Strandy and kept everything but needs must 🤣
Both are great! I love my les paul modeled like the 1959 gibson les paul, it is my 1st electric and favorite guitar. On the hand, these innovations are amazing for the industry and I really hope to see more variation in guitars (although for me les pauls cant be beat in the style department). I hope to be able to try out and (if I like it) even purchase a strandburg for myself. They seem very good and versatile.
I finally got an NX Prog 6 a couple of days ago, and it's everything I'd hoped it would be. One of the most comfortable and best playing guitars I've ever owned. My old a$$ is playing riffs I haven't been able to do in years. Such a marvel of engineering.
Jack, I want to say thank you for the awesome Strandberg videos. After watching them and trying one out, I pulled the trigger, traded in 5 of my axes and brought home a lefty Boden NX6T in Glacier Burst. It's the most comfortable guitar I've ever played and Strandberg OEM pickups are better than I expected, I planned to swap them out but I'm not sure now. Appreciate the effort to put these videos together and the passion for Strandberg. Thanks!
Dude, that’s awesome! Congratulations on your new Strandberg (you’ve got the best colour in the 6 strings by far too!) No need to thank me man, I’m just really happy my videos helped you get a great guitar. Thanks for watching dude, I really appreciate it 🤘
Hey, lefty fellow here too! How is it holding up 1 month later? I am really interested in hearing about its tuning stability, especially when using the tremolo bar.
Thank you for this video (and another one you made about Strandberg guitars). I have just ordered one Prog , my second and certainly last electric guitar, given my age and the price it cost... Since I learned to play, I've always wanted a lighter guitar than the one I had bought, because I found it so heavy, even sitting it's unpleasant. And these guitars are also incredibly beautiful (to my taste). So, I'll receive it next Monday... I hope I'll be as stunned as you are!
That's awesome, congratulations on the new guitar! It sounds like this will tick all the boxes for you so I hope you love it! And thanks so much for checking out the videos, it means a lot 🤘
Hi Jack, I wholeheartedly agree with you regarding Strandberg guitars. I am able to play longer with minimal pain. I've had my Salen Jazz for more than a month now. I actually returned it thinking it doesn't help my fret hand pain. A few days later, I went back to the music shop and got it back! It does help! Being able to play with less pain is worth the price! I did not want to quit playing. Thank you for the awesome video! Looking forward to seeing more!🎸
Dude, it makes me really happy to hear that you've had success with your Salen. They're such cool guitars too! No problem mate, thank you for checking it out. I'm really glad you enjoyed it 🤘
Great video, mate! I also plan to sell a couple of my guitars to pick up a Strandberg. I had my doubts, but as soon as I picked one up to play, it was nothing like anything I'd played before. And I couldn't even notice any sense of having to adapt to a new guitar, which has always been the case for me. The R&D that must've gone into these instruments is mind-boggling. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to having one of my own. Cheers!
This was an excellent review of the Strandberg guitar. Didn't contain any fluff and mindless noodling. This should be the template of all review videos. Thanks.
Great review man! Really made up my mind about Strandberg. I actually live 30 minutes from their HQ in Uppsala. I'll probably go there to try their guitars
Dude, that's really kind of you to say. I'm just glad it helped! Ah awesome, if you can you totally should. I've got family in Sweden, little bit further away though but I love it there so much. Thanks for watching man, I appreciate it 🤘
They're in Dalarna. I guess in Swedish terms, it's considered pretty close though actually 😂 In British terms not so much haha I think they're about 2-3 hours away from Strandberg HQ.
@@JackTaylorGuitars Haha, well it´s pretty close :) We use to take the kids and camp in up in Dalarna, in a town called Rättvik. And we have lot of friends living in Dalarna, like Mora, Falun etc.
Rättvik is beautiful, man. We visited during Classic Car week last time I was over. The lake is amazing. Again, though, not unusual for Sweden 😂 Cool, so my family are in Vansbro if you're familiar with it! The size of Sweden baffles me a little bit considering I'm used to here so I don't know how well known certain places are if that makes sense haha
If I were a guitarist THIS is the guitar I would HAVE to have. From the videos I have seen promoting it .Strandbergs appear to be the next step up in the evolution of electric guitars.
In my opinion, it's so worth it. I own two from 2019 neck through. One has suhr pickups, and the other is fishman modern. I pretty much only play those two guitars. Live or studio work. Great guitars.
I am primarily a bass player but I started on the guitar so can play it a bit. My friend bought a 6-string Strandberg a couple of years ago, I tried it and was positively shocked by the ergonomics. It was so comfortable it basically played itself.
Been catching your videos more lately. Glad to see this one, I been wanting a Strandberg for basically the reasons you got yours. Can't wait to get the money together, thanks my dude. Awesome video and def subscribed.
Thanks man that's really cool of you, I'm glad to have you around! They're fantastic man, it's done absolute wonders for my ability to play. Couldn't recommend them highly enough and hope you get your hands on one soon! All the best bro 🤘
Dude! I came back to say I finally picked one up. Same model, just with the natural flame maple. You were a big part in me getting one and my hands couldn't be happier. Thanks bro for the vids you make 🤘@@JackTaylorGuitars
In my opinion, the neck makes or breaks a guitar for me. The way you described it makes me really want to buy one of these because I've never gotten along with thin neck guitars. If I ever get a headless it's going to be a strandberg
Totally, I 100% agree! I can forgive a lot if the guitar plays super well and feels great in the fretting hand. Mate, I used to love a thin neck but they ended up killing me in the end. The Endurneck is something special! Try and give one a god. And thank you for checking out the video 🤘
I am glad for your choice and satisfaction, keep on playing in your much happier mode! What you did with your guitar collection for a single guitar was a very brave move, all to keep your guitar playing alive! In your circumstance, it was obviously a good choice on your part, it was interesting! Thank you for sharing how much it meant to you! ❤ 🤗 😊
Thanks so much for the wholesome comment. That made my day and I'm glad it came across like that in the video! Sometimes you have to take a chance to keep doing what you love I guess. I appreciate you, thanks again 🤘
I couldn't agree more dude! It's a scary price tag at first for a lot of folks, me included, but I don't regret it one bit. Appreciate you checking out the video mate, thank you! 🤘
Bought myself the same guitar a year ago as my soulfret. I didn’t waste time buying 10 guitars and then selling them to get the one I have now. I feel like I made the right choice even as a drummer, I’m super happy with my purchase and makes me giddy about playing on my Strandberg prog green and big orange 🍊 stack ❤congrats on your purchase and playing 🤘💎
That's the best feeling in the world when you still get giddy about your guitar time and time again dude! I'm glad you're stoked on it. Thank you man, I appreciate the kind words and you checking out the video 🤘
Oh great shout man, the new Metal run looks so good. I know the internet likes to take ideas and run with them but I've had 6 Strandbergs now and each has been flawless in terms of frets so I'd be confident you won't face any problems. Also, the Richlite board on the metal means it won't get fret sprout so I think you're safe. Thanks for watching mate 🤘
Go for it dude! They’re so interesting to play. I’ve done my best to describe it but nothing will explain it better than getting one in your hands. Thanks for checking it out as always my dude. Hope you’re well! 🤘
Your video made me smile, because I traded 5 guitars and 2 amps to get this guitar. And it is the same color too. I absolutely love it. My other electric guitar is Godin xtSA. Stranberg is more comfortable to play, but in my opinion Godin sounds slightly better. Thank you for your video
Dude, I'm really glad you enjoyed the video! It's cool to know that it's not just me who thinks the sacrifice of trading/selling loads of other instruments for this thing is worth it. Thank you for watching mate, I appreciate it loads 🤘
The guitar looks sick! Does the tremolo system do all the things a Floyd Rose will do? I'm also glad you can play still, I went through a long period that I couldn't play at all.
Thanks man that means a lot! It sucks doesn’t not being able to play? The trem is great, you can dive bomb and stuff but they don’t flutter like a Floyd. Granted, I haven’t messed around with spring tension but I think it’s due to the mass rather than the springs. Appreciate you checking out the video dude, thank you! 🤘
dude, I bought the same guitar around new year and really tried to go with the suhrs, but I couldn't after just a week. I am typically a passive guy cuz the chugs sound a certain way through metal amps (spec. 5150), but these Suhrs were too soft on the attack for me (maybe that's just my set). Since I knew that I loved the immediacy and almost HD-feel of the Fishman Fluence Moderns, I went with those and I am super happy that I did! I have the passive sound as default and pull on volume for active sound. Now add in a push-pull tone knob for coil splitting and you have a versatile beast! I also replaced the 5-way for a 3-way. Love that config for the studio and the default passive humbucking setting is just what I wanted for a typical metal feel. I can definitely reccommend this config! Also - super happy that the Strandy makes you play more! Same goes for me. It's just so handy to bring almost everywhere either in the house or elsewhere. Strandy + Wireless + Spark Go = winning mobility combo! (Spark Go is also a great headphone amp!)
Thanks for checking out the video dude! I'm stoked you had similar success with your Strandberg! That pickup config sounds great man, I really like the sound of that. I've heavily considered a set of EMG Daemonums but I've actually really grown to love the Suhrs. No plans to change them right now but that could change in the future too 😂 Man, I've got a Spark Go sitting on my shelves waiting to make a video on it. It's a killer little thing! Thanks again dude 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Yeah, I seem to be the only guy on the internet to not like the Suhrs :D Well, unpack that Spark Go and put it in the Strandy gigbag - best thing ever!
I've actually got a video on the Essential in the works coming out some time after xmas/new years and that has the straight frets. Personally, the multiscale works great for me, definitely my preference. I can't speak for Ormsby, though. Not got a lot of experience with them but my take is that they're cool but it's kind of just a regular electric without a headstock. With Strandberg you're getting the endurneck and other bells and whistles, it's more of a deliverate thing. Put it this way dude, all I play are my Strandbergs. They're my favourite guitars by far. Hope that helps a bit man, cheers for watching 🤘
I appreciate your honest feelings. I have hand/nerve strength/control issues and working through them with physio. Strandbergs might also be a solution to longer term playing (I am 66) ha. I play with another guitarist/vocalist. We capo around for vocal range adjustments. Does a capo work on this neck?
Thanks mate, I hope the video helped some! They definitely should be a consideration at the very least, if you can try one out that would be a good call. In terms of a capo, I honestly don't know mate. I don't have one to try actually so I wouldn't want to say either way. My gut feeling is that it would be fine but don't take my word for it. Thanks again 🤘
Great overview man and beautiful Axe!! Topically only a few weeks away from ordering my first GOC headless, as they also have an asymmetric neck profile, so excited I love ergonomic design......... Subbed! Peace
That's super kind of you bro, thanks so much! That's definitely an exciting purchase dude, I think the first one I ever saw was on Andrew Baena's channel if I'm not mistaking. Definitely a cool looking thing! I hope you have a blast with it man. Thanks again 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Thank you for the videos man!.. Great to hear the Strandberg is letting you play comfortably and be inspired! Wicked cheers, I will check out his channel!... And the Bowden 7 at the end, I've played the exact model, what and absolutely unit 😁👌 enjoy dude!
Thank you dude! Oh yeah do it, Andrew is one of the best guys for extended range stuff, if not the best. Makes some quality videos! Thanks again my dude 🤘
Yes brooo! That was a great deck, I liked it a lot. You’re the first person to shout out the board too so hyped on that 🤙 Thanks for checking out the video man I appreciate it!
I've been considering selling a couple of my pointy guitars to get a NX7. I am not a huge fan of the look, but ergonomics really do become a bit more important as you age.
I don’t even like headless guitars but I did buy the 8 string boden and I absolutely love this one, out of all headless guitars this is the best one for sure.
I love Strandberg guitars. I have CTS and RSI in both hands/wrists. Though, I very much prefer the non-OS and pre-NX Original models because of the roasted maple and solid top. Both are just cosmetic preferences of course.
I'm glad you found some guitars that are helping mate! It's rough dealing with those issues. I've never tried one of the earlier models but I'd really like to. Thanks for watching mate! (and for warning me about the strap 😂)
Great coverage of what to expect with this guitar and you definitely look like you're enjoying it which is awesome 🤘 Interestingly, they put active pickups in the 7 string (Fishman Fluence Modern). I see Strandberg does a standard version that looks to be about 30% cheaper; did you consider one of those? Just wondering if the extra money is worth it?
Thanks so much my dude, I’m really glad it helped! And they do! My Boden 7 has fluence moderns and they sound great. The standards are really cool man, I like them a lot. I think you’re still getting an awesome guitar with all the DNA. I did consider one but the Prog was what I really wanted. The extra cash imo is worth it but you’d still get a sick guitar with a Standard, the Originals are great too. There’s a new review for an Original 6 coming soon if you’re interested. Sorry for the wall of text 😂 thanks for watching mate, I really appreciate it 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars sweet, nothing to apologise for, love the extra info 🤘. I just looked at your video list and see you did a review on your 7 string, so that's where I'm heading now. I've had shoulder problems for 9 months that hinder my ability to play as I can't always rotate at the shoulder to be able to strum/pick. Considering if the body on these would help and don't have a 7 string (yet) 🤘🤘
Cheers dude! Ah right, it's entirely possible especially if you can make the most of the shape and sit classically (if you don't already). Might help a lot!
Not at all dude! I've been with my Mrs years and I love seeing her every day. Same thing basically 😂 Thanks for watching man and I hope she doesn't see this reply haha 🤘
Are there advantages to the headless design? - because i just can't get with the aesthetics of it. Maybe in 20 years that'll be the norm and headstocks will look archaic - but for me, the aesthetics of a guitar are important.
I don't know if it'll ever be the norm but I do think it's a nice option to have. Other than increased tuning stability through being headless, the advantages come mostly from it being lighter, more manoeuvrable and ergonomic. Ultimately, if you like a headstock then stick with it. We like what we like! Thanks for watching mate, I appreciate it! 🤘
I know the feeling my dude! 😂 So, the Q’s are great guitars but I’d say they feel like a lighter, more manoeuvrable strat or something like that. The Strandbergs have completely their own vibe man, nothing else I’ve played is like them, but it’s also not for everybody purely for the neck profile. I love it but some people don’t. I also don’t want to feed into your GAS too hard man but I wouldn’t buy another Q series if a Strandberg was on the cards. I appreciate you checking out the video man, thank you! 🤘
Classical position makes any guitar comfortable. Even Randy Rhoads sat with his v for hours in that position. Did an 8 hour session today with a Charvel on my left leg and pain free and I'm 41.
I completely agree, classical is the move. It’s just not every guitar sits nicely for it, teles and les paul’s especially. V’s are great though. Thanks for checking out the video mate 🤘
I had to comment. I liked and subscribed, btw, cuz your playing is great. Thoughtful, not mindless speed, nice phrasing, etc. The reason I wanted to comment though is because I am a 55 year old who has been tinkering with guitar for about 45 years now and the Strandberg Boden Prog NX 6 is of great interest to me. As I type this I'm 7 weeks post surgical from having both carpal tunnel release and CMC arthroplasty on the right thumb. I already had my left hand carpal tunnel AND cubital tunnel surgery about 5 years ago. I am seriously interested in the ergonomics of this guitar. The funny thing though is that I'm much more of a Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter, or other Texas blues type of player. I'd like to hear how you feel about this axe after owning it for a while. Would you possibly do a 'Flashback' episode after a year or so? It would be really cool to hear how your hands have responded to the guitar over a bit of time.
Thank you mate, that’s really kind of you to say! Sorry to hear about your hand troubles too but I’m glad you’re on the way to getting back to normal. I’ll absolutely do a follow up video dude, no problem at all. It’s a few months I’ve been playing Strandbergs the most now and I’ve found that they’ve been a huge help in getting back to a level where I can play a lot and have no fatigue or pain, that’s been fairly consistent. I still have some problems that I’m working on with resistance band exercises but it’s nowhere near the level it was. But yeah man, I’ll do a full follow up after a few months, a year etc. Thanks again mate 🤘
The trem is absolutely awesome dude, one of the most stable trems I've ever used. It's not super fluttery but still expressive. The hardtails are something else for stability though. If you got a trem model I think you'd be really happy if that's what you're after. Cheers for watching mate! 🤘
I've got a red Boden OS6 with a roasted maple neck and Birdseye maple board. It's unreal! The chambering makes the resonance insane. The neck has "forced" me into a better playing position for both the hands and the neck/back. The switching options are awesome too. The only thing that I don't like has been changed in the NX models. There isn't a deep enough forearm contour, but a sweat band on my forearm is good enough. The NX has a deeper contour and a better neck joint than the OS ones. I don't have a trem on mine either, so I will have to buy another in the future, but might need to sell a kidney first 🤣
I know the OS you’re talking about and they’re gorgeous, such a nice guitar! I’m really stoked you’re loving yours too. I’m fully ready to sell some organs for a hardtail 6 option to be fair 😂 Thanks for checking out the video, I really appreciate it 🤘
Cheers mate, I really appreciate that! I haven’t actually, my only experience with Cort as a brand was when I was about 16 so we’re taking another 16 years ago! A buddy had one and I really liked it. Thanks again dude 🤘

Ironically man I had 18 Jackson guitars …I played a Strandberg and lost my love for other guitars ..sold all my Jackson’s and I’m on my 2nd berg now !! I love them man everything you said is accurate
Greetings from another strandberg player that is over the moon with these guitars. Its hard not to come off sounding like a fan boy because if these work for you they really really work for you lol. Fyi yes from personal experience be careful with the multi tool as it is quite easy to break and i really wish they would just make it out of solid metal.
Hey man! Absolutely man, you’re totally right. And I will dude, the tool is such a great thing but I’ve started to feel it give slightly only when using a little pressure. Solid metal would be loads better and recyclable forever, rather than the obvious issues with plastic. Thank you for checking out the video dude, I’m glad you’re a fan of these guitars too! 🤘
Are your troubles in any way Inflammation related? I only ask because I have something similar and you can take a huge effect on that with diet, EVEN if it's not diet related/caused. Might be worth looking into! - Thanks for the video, I've been thinking about getting into guitars on and off for 30 years now (in my 40ties). The Strandberg was calling to me the very first time I saw it, then I HEARD it, makes perfect sense, and I've collected a bunch of points on my AmEx card the past few years... - It's go time! 😍 Thank you man, it's through all the rave reviews of the Strandberg's, that I actually have the confidence to pull the trigger! - I'm only researching the exact model now. I would have started with the Essential, but they are sold out anyways, so I might as well have a PROPER look through the range while I'm chilling on the waiting list! And with my AmEx point win-fall, I'm not yet ruling out completely the Prog, Metal and other higher priced options, or maybe a B-model from their homepage... I kinda want to annoy my relatives with a Christmas song... 😛 Thanks again, I liked and subbed!
Thanks for watching man, I’m really glad the video when some way to helping. In my personal time when I’m playing and writing etc my Strandbergs are all I use. I’m absolutely love them so I hope you do too. My arm issues don’t seem to get any better/worse with diet. I was vegan for like 4 years and all through my training years and, although it helped with a lot of other stuff, my arm issues persisted. I think it’s just a combination of damage and having a desk job unfortunately. At least the Strandbergs keep me playing! Thanks again dude, I appreciate it 🤘

@@JackTaylorGuitars 😉 I hadn't thought of crochet. Good call. You could have a woolly scarf to go with the jumper. Win, win. Keep you warm for train spotting in the winter. All the best mate.
It’s still floating so you do get some pitch weirdness like most trems but I’d say it’s a little less light than a regular Floyd so the second string you’re bending to does keep pitch slightly better. Hope that helps mate, thanks for watching! 🤘
Hey! Sure thing, at that price point I would suggest looking at Harley Benton. You can get some great quality instruments with high end specs. The Fusion line in particular are fantastic! Hope that helps 😁

I was looking for a headless guitar about 6 months ago and ended up going for an Ibanez Q series, it's lights, razer thin, sounds good and has multi tone options...... my biggest fear after watching these sorta videos is picking up a berg. All that smoke means they must be fire.
I had a couple of Qs too mate, actually my first reviews on the channel! Fantastic guitars man, they just went to fund other stuff unfortunately but they were ace. What I will say is the Strandberg is just like nothing else I’ve ever played. I’m sat writing with it right now 😂 Really appreciate you checking out the video, thank you 🤘
I'm interested in the Q but it doesn't look like they're as comfortable for classical seated playing position. What's your experience been? These strands seem to have the perfect cut-out spot to rest on the right leg.
😂 Should have asked for a discount bro! In all seriousness, I love the 90s Epi explorers dude, such sick guitars. The Jazzmaster video is gonna have to take a different form man but there will be one hopefully 🤞 Should have been an easy pickup replacement but it all went upside down. Then I got some corrupted files. Just a mess 😂
@@JackTaylorGuitars oh no bro. Let me guess, the Jazzmaster single coils slots weren't big enough for humbuckers? If that's the case, check out Revel Pickups and they have Jazzmaster sized humbuckers I do believe. Anyways homie another 🔥 video, and it sounds like a million bucks.
Not this time mate! It’s actually a direct Jazzmaster pickup swap so the routes were fine. It seems my particular guitar has a few oddities let’s say that made fitting them a bitch 😂 And couple that with corrupted footage and I can show the upgrade process now. It’ll probably just be a straight review when I sort it dude. Thank you bro anyway, I appreciate you 🤘
So, it's a combination of things dude. The thing that really started it was a couple of Jiu Jitsu injuries but doing an office job for over a decade hasn't helped and bad habits made it worse. Luckily, it's something that I'm managing but all I can say is just take care of your hands mate. I made a video about hand pain recently that you might not have seen, the algo didn't like it too much haha. You might find it interesting! Thanks for checking this out too dude 🤘
I love plini since he uses one.. i am very much love the design aesthetic of it. For me price is still very high for veneer, richlite fretboard and not roasted maple neck, Indonesia made guitar. There is a reason it is made on far east. The labor is like 1/4 of the west. Sometimes it feels like a ripoff.
Cheers for watching man! I have to admit I did feel similarly before I started checking out the reasons for each of those design choices but it totally makes sense to make from a manufacturing and environmental standpoint. All I can say is that, to me personally, Strandbergs are definitely worth the cost. Also, the dedicated lines they have at PT Cort are super impressive. Where a guitar is made makes absolutely no difference to me personally as long as it's great! Thanks again dude 🤘
There's no one stopping you from buying a $5,000 guitar from the Custom Shop. By the way: Do you wear $50 branded shirts made in Vietnam and feel good about it? 🤣
@@parmeshgurung Beg your pardon. That was a little bit satire.😁 But I'm writing from Germany, and every day I see people here, who feel hip when they walk around in clothes by Hugo Boss, Armani, or whatever and pay huge prices for them, even though all that stuff is now being produced in Bangladesh or Vietnam for ridiculous wages.
@@petergrohmuller1372 coming from third world country which is poorer than Indonesia, 50 USD for tshirt is only for super rich here 😅😅😅. Thanks for pointing out about the wage. Companies like strandberg go to third world country because of the cheap wage which is almost more than half compared to first world like US. Still wish to own one though esp plini Salen one 😅😅. Things that I mentioned like roasted maple, maple top etc used to come standard on strandberg. They removed it in order to be “eco friendly”. A apple charger move 😅😅
Thank you dude, I’m glad you enjoyed it! That’s not surprising mate, I’m still pretty uncomfortable filming myself but I like making videos so I guess it’s one of those things. I hope it didn’t put you off to badly 🤘
I guess that's a logical way to look at it! Maybe the materials would be less overall but the work to create something that's out of the ordinary or the quality of the materials is what you're paying for? I dunno! All I can say is that I personally think they're worth the asking price. Thanks my dude 🤘
🤣 Mate, I thought that when I was writing the title and I hate myself a little bit for it. But you gotta play the game I guess! I hope you enjoy it dude, let me know 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars interesting video man, I've never looked at these before so didn't know about the neck shape. Glad it's helped your hands and arms though, it's no fun getting pain doing the thing you love. I'm 90% certain my Tele was the cause of my pain as I'm fine in my other guitars but ache not long after playing that. Odd as I've got loads of different neck shapes and can switch without any issues. Congratulations on doing the guitar lessons as well, I'm sure it will be rewarding :)
Thanks so much mate, I’m glad you enjoyed it! That is a weird one with the tele dude. I mean, it must be if it’s the only axe causing you problems but it’s definitely strange. Oh yeah man, taking a step into teaching online is a bit daunting actually, the imposter syndrome is strong, but it’s time I took it seriously! Thanks again man, hope you’re well! 🤘
I had the Boden Original 6 for a year and had very mixed feelings with it. Somehow it felt like a cheap guitar. My friend's Original 7 felt so much better for some reason. I ended up selling the guitar.
Thanks for checking out the video man! That's a real shame dude but I totally get it. Might just be one of those times where that guitar wasn't for you, I know I've had loads of those! Cheers mate 🤘
Looked at exact that models more than ones, only because headless with H-H configuration and a tremolo is so damn hard to find. 😕 But! The EndurNeck! I just don't like it. It feels like my left hand gets forced into positions i don't want it to be in. Something ergonomic should be flexible and able to fit different types of users, but i find the EndureNeck more limiting and crippling than a normal neck. A c-shape neck allows the hand to be positioned in any way possible and is more ergonomic in that sense than a Strandberg. The rest of the guitar is great, but i'm still hoping Ibanez will release a Q-series with a tremolo. Glad to see it works for you though. 🙂
Thanks so much for checking out the video dude! This is exactly what I mean. For some folks it's just not going to work and I totally get that. It is a shame that it puts you out of owning the guitar but I guess it's just one of those things. At least you tried it though and found out it wasn't right for what you like! Cheers mate 🤘
Absolutely no issues on this guitar dude, thankfully! My 7 string has the *ping* but it had that when I got it used. Either way, a ping that I can't hear when I'm playing amped up and doesn't cause any playing problems isn't an issue for me personally. Cheers for watching mate! 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars For many people sanding down the zero fret every time they change strings is the solution. However, it would seem to me that you would start getting a buzz after a sanding or two. Strandberg should make replacing the zero fret easy and offer cheap replacement zero frets but they might see that as admitting guilt. Gibson and Kiesel saw the error of their ways and quit putting zero frets on their guitars after a year or two experiment with them. Crazy that Ola would go with something so stupid as a zero fret when the rest of the guitar is a tech marvel! As far as the pinging, that is not the real problem. The real problem is the string will buzz after a while or even not play open. If you look at the new $1000 Strandberg Essential they went back to a regular nut (and no fan frets!). I'll be getting one of those!
No doubt these guitars are quality...great playing...great sounding...easy to carry around..the works....the problem though is the same problem a man has when he finds a very nice woman who is great at everything but looks horrible.....somehow that overrides everything.....i would get a strat or superstrat object and mod it to all my hearts desires(and for way less i might add) instead of getting one of these monstrosities....
Totally valid, it’s all a matter of taste isn’t it! Personally, I think these are some of the best looking guitars ever made. I love strats too, but these look incredible to me. But you don’t and that’s totally cool! The world would be boring if we all liked the same stuff. Thanks for watching anyway dude, I appreciate it🤘
That’s completely fair mate, they’re not to everyone’s taste. For me being able to play is the most important thing but it’s a bonus that I’m a bit fan of how they look. We’re all better for having different tastes though! Appreciate you checking out the video anyway, thanks dude 🤘
I dunno bro, maybe you're just not looking hard enough 🤣 I mean, there's at least one bend in this demo! Appreciate you checking out the video dude, cheers 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars I watched closely to make sure, and there are no bends in the playing bit. You mention bending in passing later on, but most "prog-ey" folks don't really bend these days and that's who the Strandberg is aimed at. I play with a thumb over the fretboard and bending is very natural that way. I'm contemplating getting one, which is why I'm curious how heavy bending works out on these necks.
There’s absolutely a bend at the end of the demo mate, for sure! If you play thumb over, you can still do that on this guitar. Plini plays like that a lot. But the cool thing about the endurneck is your thumb will rest nicely on the top surface for more purchase when bending. It’s cool man, I like it a lot! I was thinking about making an in depth video about the endurneck in the future. If I do I’ll demonstrate what I mean then 👍
I could never play a guitar with no headatock it would be like landing your fingers on an aircraft carrier😂 And aesthetically it just looks violatedto me 😂
That’s fair enough man honestly! 🤣 The look of a guitar is an important thing and I know the headstock is where a lot of the personality lives for a lot of people. But if you see one, give it a try. It might surprise you! Appreciate you checking out the video mate 🤘
The answer is "Maybe"... Depends on what you sold... But Strandberg has become overrated with various quality headless out there at more reasonable prices.
Thanks for checking out the video Jei! I think before I got my hands on it 'Maybe' was the exact sentiment, I didn't know if it was going to do what I needed it to. Now that I have it, I don't think there's another headless I'd like nearly as much and that's purely down to the neck 🤘 I open to try other stuff definitely but this has something no other guitar can match I think.
100%. I’m confident Strandberg could make a guitar with a headstock and it’d still be far more comfortable to play than a ton of other guitars out there. Headless or not. Cheers mate 🤘
With arthritis in my left arm and being a right handed player I was barely playing anymore, until I bought my Boden. I've gone from the odd 20 minute session to playing for up to an hour.
That’s incredible! Makes me happy you managed to find something that works too. Thanks so much for checking out the video, I really appreciate it 🤘
I definitely agree! The Endurneck helps us play with less discomfort! I'm the proud owner of a Salen Jazz! 😁
@@Rodney_T 100%! That’s awesome man. I’ve got a Sälen HH trem coming on Monday but don’t tell anyone 😂

maybe i should sell the rest of my guitars and hope my ears can recover before i die if htey can or that my body could handle the pains id have had the will to push through that for the music. i needed to move also from this sh apartment so i could actually make noise. prob am gonna die before i get a chance. oh well. sorry im being a bummer i dont care too much though. lol. people dont know.. people dont care. im not a drama queen or someone that exaggerates but i didnt have any options left. people arent built to really care unless its like a specific sutiation where theyre close to you already. i wish life was more mathematically fair, but its not at all. some people just get royally screwed and it never ends.

You’re totally right! Thanks for checking out the video, I appreciate it! 🤘
I’m super happy to hear that you’re loving it mate, that’s great news! Cheers for checking out the video too 🤘
Jack, I want to say thank you for the awesome Strandberg videos.
Congratulations on your new Strandberg (you’ve got the best colour in the 6 strings by far too!)
No need to thank me man, I’m just really happy my videos helped you get a great guitar. Thanks for watching dude, I really appreciate it 🤘
Hey, lefty fellow here too! How is it holding up 1 month later? I am really interested in hearing about its tuning stability, especially when using the tremolo bar.
Just found you, your enthusiasm is infectious and has inspired me to play more! Keep the videos coming….
Thank you mate, that really means a ton to me! Hope you have a blast playing more man 🤘
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing. Love your playing too
Hey, thanks so much for checking it out! That means a ton to me, cheers 🤘
Cheers!
Thanks so much my dude, I'm really happy you enjoyed it! That's awesome, I hope you have a blast with it when it comes. Take care mate 🤘
This was an excellent review of the Strandberg guitar. Didn't contain any fluff and mindless noodling. This should be the template of all review videos. Thanks.
That means a huge amount to me mate, thank you. I’m really glad it helped! 🤘
Thanks for watching man, I appreciate it 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars No problems, man! Ah, cool! Where in Sweden if I may ask?
I fully agree with that mate! People talk about innovation a lot but strandberg are actually doing it imo. Thanks for checking out the video dude 🤘
If you’re not a guitarist what do you get out of watching this video?
In my opinion, it's so worth it. I own two from 2019 neck through. One has suhr pickups, and the other is fishman modern. I pretty much only play those two guitars. Live or studio work. Great guitars.
Oh dude, I'm jealous. The neck through models are the perfect configuration imo. Glad you're stoked on yours and thanks for watching the video 🤘
I am primarily a bass player but I started on the guitar so can play it a bit. My friend bought a 6-string Strandberg a couple of years ago, I tried it and was positively shocked by the ergonomics. It was so comfortable it basically played itself.
Totally dude, it's scary how much easier they are to play than most guitars! Thanks for watching mate 🤘
Bought this exact same guitar after getting my first Strandberg Boden Standard, totally worth the price of admission IMO.
I couldn't agree more dude! It's a scary price tag at first for a lot of folks, me included, but I don't regret it one bit. Appreciate you checking out the video mate, thank you! 🤘
I just purchased a Standard NX6 hardtail. Can't wait for it to arrive.
Amazing dude! I hope you love it and thanks for checking out the video 🤘

Thank you so much my dude, I'm glad you enjoyed it! You're absolutely right man, I love these things so much 🤘
Cannot wait to get my hands on the Metal NX7 in a couple of months. Hopefully I won't run in the "sharp frets" issue people spoke of.
That’s so cool man!💪🏻
I was always intrigued with strandberg guitars but I never tried one, next time I end up in a guitar store I’m gonna!!!
Go for it dude! They’re so interesting to play. I’ve done my best to describe it but nothing will explain it better than getting one in your hands. Thanks for checking it out as always my dude. Hope you’re well! 🤘
Love mine. This one together with my Revstars (I know COMPLETELY different guitars) is everything I play these days.
They’re awesome aren’t they! To be fair though, the Revstars are awesome too. Thanks for checking out the video man 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars they really are, even for metal and doom like I play. Insanely underrated.
Yes! I thought that about my Rev too, it sounded super tough! Very underrated, I miss that guitar…
I have the Sarah longfield 6 string and it's great. Its about 5 lbs and plays beautifully.
They are a killer looking guitar dude! Glad to hear they’re good and thanks for checking out the video, I appreciate it🤘
Great video. Guitar looks awesome. I laugh when Strandberg calls them "headless" though. There's a huge block of wood at the end of the neck!
Cheers dude! I guess you’re right mate 😂
👍@@JackTaylorGuitars
dude, I bought the same guitar around new year and really tried to go with the suhrs, but I couldn't after just a week.
@@JackTaylorGuitars Yeah, I seem to be the only guy on the internet to not like the Suhrs :D
Well, unpack that Spark Go and put it in the Strandy gigbag - best thing ever!
I have two. The Prog NX 6 and 7. Still have my 2 schecters too, but I don't play them much at all anymore
Yeah man, they'll do that to you! Thanks for checking out the video, I appreciate it 🤘
Do you like the fanned fretts or would u get the one without it. Also do u like that neck. Or get a ormsby?
I've actually got a video on the Essential in the works coming out some time after xmas/new years and that has the straight frets. Personally, the multiscale works great for me, definitely my preference. I can't speak for Ormsby, though. Not got a lot of experience with them but my take is that they're cool but it's kind of just a regular electric without a headstock. With Strandberg you're getting the endurneck and other bells and whistles, it's more of a deliverate thing.
Put it this way dude, all I play are my Strandbergs. They're my favourite guitars by far. Hope that helps a bit man, cheers for watching 🤘
I actually just ordered the boden prog... is it a float trem or like a fender style where u can only go forward?

I've been considering selling a couple of my pointy guitars to get a NX7. I am not a huge fan of the look, but ergonomics really do become a bit more important as you age.
I think it's totally a worthwhile investment dude! If you get your hands on one I hope you like it! 🤘
I don’t even like headless guitars but I did buy the 8 string boden and I absolutely love this one, out of all headless guitars this is the best one for sure.
That's dope dude, I'm glad you found one you like! Really want to get my hands on a Boden 8 at some point too, I'm jelous! Thanks for watching man 🤘
I love Strandberg guitars.
Great coverage of what to expect with this guitar and you definitely look like you're enjoying it which is awesome 🤘
Interestingly, they put active pickups in the 7 string (Fishman Fluence Modern).
Might help a lot!
is it weird i own a Strandberg, but still watch videos about them? Such beautiful guitars
Not at all dude! I've been with my Mrs years and I love seeing her every day. Same thing basically 😂 Thanks for watching man and I hope she doesn't see this reply haha 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars well said
Are there advantages to the headless design? - because i just can't get with the aesthetics of it. Maybe in 20 years that'll be the norm and headstocks will look archaic - but for me, the aesthetics of a guitar are important.
I don't know if it'll ever be the norm but I do think it's a nice option to have. Other than increased tuning stability through being headless, the advantages come mostly from it being lighter, more manoeuvrable and ergonomic. Ultimately, if you like a headstock then stick with it. We like what we like! Thanks for watching mate, I appreciate it! 🤘
One advantage is that you can just put it down on flat surface without having to worry about said surface affecting the tuner knobs..
Hi Jack, thanks for the review. I'm GAS'ing for a Strandberg hard, could you tell me how it compares to the Ibanez Q's you had about a year ago?
How does the tremolo hold up? Does it stay in tune? Is it a pain in the ass to change strings? I'm debating on tremolo or fixed bridge.
The trem is absolutely awesome dude, one of the most stable trems I've ever used. It's not super fluttery but still expressive. The hardtails are something else for stability though. If you got a trem model I think you'd be really happy if that's what you're after. Cheers for watching mate! 🤘
I went with the fixed. Hoping to love it. I'll find out in a couple of days.🤘
@@robnolette Awesome! I'm sure you will dude 🤘
I’m fully ready to sell some organs for a hardtail 6 option to be fair 😂 Thanks for checking out the video, I really appreciate it 🤘
Love your reviews :) have you checked out the Cort G290 fat2 and the G300 yet?
Cheers mate, I really appreciate that! I haven’t actually, my only experience with Cort as a brand was when I was about 16 so we’re taking another 16 years ago! A buddy had one and I really liked it. Thanks again dude 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Nice one mate :D very direct and informational without bias and no mixing of words. Those are the reviews that allow and enable folks to choose their axe wisely so, well done! I'm a bassist who dabbles with guitar but I have found the Cort G290 Fat2, exceptional in build and tone. I have 5 guitars: HB KR tele tribute, Squier CV50s tele, PRS SE Santana, Jackson Aidrian Smith SDX and the Cort G290. I am blown away by the Cort and highly recommend it. Nice video, and what a freaking awesome intro tune 🤘🙌
Thanks so much my dude! I can't actually remember the demo for this one but it'd be a shame not to flesh it out 🤘
Ironically man I had 18 Jackson guitars …I played a Strandberg and lost my love for other guitars ..sold all my Jackson’s and I’m on my 2nd berg now !! I love them man everything you said is accurate
Dude, I am fully with you on that. They’re absolutely unreal! Thanks for checking out the video man, I appreciate it 🤘
Greetings from another strandberg player that is over the moon with these guitars.
Thanks again dude, I appreciate it 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars I found the last Essential (red) in maybe all of Europe! Will be here tomorrow, together with Yamaha THR30iiW with Line 6! - 30 Years ago when I first touched a guitar, I wouldn't have been able to DREAM UP a setup like mine, much less being SO lucky to get to LEARN on it! So stoked, I can't wait!
Health stuff/Inflammation: One FINAL thing you can try: AIP Paleo! It is very restrictive, BUT on the flipside it will show you VERY quickly if there is ANYTHING left to be said about health through diet for you! Also easier to achieve now that you're not vegan anymore!
I'd definitely try that for 5-10 days... If nothing changes, you're completely off the hook, diet-wise!
If it DOES help you know there is still something going on...
So it's worth it either way! And GPT will spit you out a quick meal plan in seconds!

Hi. Can you play unison bends in tune on this vibrato ?
It’s still floating so you do get some pitch weirdness like most trems but I’d say it’s a little less light than a regular Floyd so the second string you’re bending to does keep pitch slightly better. Hope that helps mate, thanks for watching! 🤘

I was looking for a headless guitar about 6 months ago and ended up going for an Ibanez Q series, it's lights, razer thin, sounds good and has multi tone options...... my biggest fear after watching these sorta videos is picking up a berg. All that smoke means they must be fire.

So, it's a combination of things dude. The thing that really started it was a couple of Jiu Jitsu injuries but doing an office job for over a decade hasn't helped and bad habits made it worse.

How's that zero fret working out? Hahaha!

That’s completely fair mate, they’re not to everyone’s taste. For me being able to play is the most important thing but it’s a bonus that I’m a bit fan of how they look. We’re all better for having different tastes though! Appreciate you checking out the video anyway, thanks dude 🤘
Never seen anybody bend a string on a Strandberg 😂 Why is that?
If I do I’ll demonstrate what I mean then 👍
I could never play a guitar with no headatock it would be like landing your fingers on an aircraft carrier😂
And aesthetically it just looks violatedto me 😂
That’s fair enough man honestly!
There's a difference between ergo and headless guitars.
100%. I’m confident Strandberg could make a guitar with a headstock and it’d still be far more comfortable to play than a ton of other guitars out there. Headless or not. Cheers mate 🤘
