The trouble is, some folks like to play for a bit if fun. But other folks like the challenge. If a games too easy then devs get a loud of flack, but if its too hard people just tell you to 'get good'. So devs these days seem to lean into the making it too hard zone. Personally i find it frustrating when even on easy its actually pretty hard still. I dont have the spare time or bothered in me to 'get good', i just want to play for a bit of fun, so sometimes the difficulty in games just turns me away completely. Games are ment to be fun first and foremost.
If anything games hand hold entirely to much . I’m happy it isn’t like the 90s with no saving and hard restarts honestly that was peak difficulty. Just smash your head against it till it was muscle memory. Now most games have a pretty wide range of difficulty. I play most things on story mode to enjoy it . Having played DD1 and Elden ring I can say the difficulty is the point . The lack of quality of life things like fast track restrictions in dragons dogma make for more interesting experiences. In Elden the difficult bosses make you problem solve with better strategies and tactics making the victory fell so much more sweet . What im saying is forcing you to go a little against the grain is a good thing . All games shouldn’t be one thing and if Elden or dd2 is not your thing that is ok I promise there is something else out there for you . This topic always reminds me of when I playing World of Warcraft and as more and more expansions came it they started just adding portals from one city to any city you wanted to go . Long gone has become the days of treking through zones to get across the world to a location far from your starting zone. One day I logged in and thought what am I doing rn . I’m just standing in the major city of choice and doing nothing really . Porting to a dungeon or other city but the sense of adventure is sort of ruined by the quality of life. I like it and it should bring me ease but really it just ruined the experience. That’s my thoughts on the topic anyways
As someone who's been playing video games for decades, I can only hope that they ARE getting more difficult. Seeing as video games are primarily a young person pastime, it may seem like video games are getting hard. No, they're not. They're returning to what they were INTENDED to be: challenging.
Mfw all the games talked about are super easy and hand hold. Dark souls don't really hold your hand elden ring honestly does DD1 didnt hold your hand DD2 100% does.
thats why i semi quit this hobby. i still play some games, but much less now. most are just soulslike clones. theres no way i buy a game for 80€ just to get stuck a few hours in. maybe i buy a game in a deep sale or second hand. especially last year and this year is a complete trainwrack for games. either extremly hard, woke af or just straight up garbarge.
Are games getting harder? > Proceeds to pick games made by a company known for their hard games > Picks a sequel to a game that is almost identical to it's original in almost very way bar graphics despite the original being 11 years old. Please stop and actually research before making silly clickbait videos.
Who wants games that take 0 skill to play and 0 effort to be good or unlock anything. Games anyone can just jump in, close their eyes and start winning are the fun ones right? It's deplorable and sad this question is even being asked.

DD2 is a hard game? yeah I can't take this video seriously.
didn't even mentioned games like EVE online, Factorio, Path of Exile, Dwarf Fortress. I wonder what's this guy definition of a hard game.
that game was hard as shit, I played it twice, got annihilated and never picked it up again. Big waste of $90
Elden Ring, BG3, the new warhammer, tried to enjoy these games but just too difficult
If you thought elden ring and dragons dogma 2 was hard then you really havent played many hard games lol
Right? Lmao.
@@HeyZeus95 elden ring was one of the easiest games ever. You literally had checkpoints right beside each other and in front of boss rooms smh
@@SlickDangler10 and you could skip 90%+ of the bosses in the game
@@HeyZeus95that’s a good thing?
@@Kedess445 it’s not good or bad, it just is. I guess it’s good if you don’t like hard games
I died 3 times in my playthrough of DD2…to gravity…

Might have played a different version of DD2 then, because it was one of the easiest games I have ever played :D

Games were intentionally hard and vague to stretch out gameplay time. You only listed 2 games and one of them isn't even hard
if you find dd2 difficult I think you should just uninstall your whole gaming set up

I know for a fact video games were easier in the 90s. Cuz I beat 90% of the games I bought. Now it's 10%.
