Ingredients:
2 cups semolina flour
1/2 tea spoon salt
1/2 cup warm water
A bit of plain flour
Thanks!
Southern Italians typically used an eggless pasta because it was easier to store and wouldn't spoil as quickly. In Northern Italy, with its cooler climate, they were better able to use and keep an egg pasta longer. Also, use an egg pasta when making ravioli, lasagna, canneloni, etc. as they require more "body."
Thanks for the information!
Rocco Mancini Hello😊,Do you have a different recipe for this and if so would you be willing to share?
I made this pasta last night and it was a big hit!! Although lengthy for me because I don't have a pasta machine.. I made fettuccine pasta.. With red sauce and vegetables :)
Thank you for this amazing vegan pasta recipe
Brava, Rajeshwari Ashar! We're thrilled to hear you persevered and that everyone loved your pasta dish!
:) :)
Sounds delicious.
Hi, Dhir Tee - Great idea! Yes, for lasagna noodles, use a knife or pizza cutter to cut the large pasta sheet into wide noodles. They'll be terrific!
Thank you so much for sharing your pasta tricks!
I just made it now for dinner. I cut it in small rectangles and made butterflies.
Thank you for this eggless recipe. Please provide more! Also can you show a detailed video on how to use a pasta machine?
from how I understand it, they are fairly basic, just start at the largest setting and close it up as the pasta gets thinner
Regular semolina is really too coarse to make fine pasta which is why most recipes go 50/50 with white flour. If you want to make real Italian style pasta, use semola di grano duro (semolina rimacinata). The semolina is reground to a very fine flour. Amazon sells it under the Caputo brand name. You can probably get it cheaper from a store that deals in Italian products. Also, you should use cold water when working with semola to retain the elasticity and workability of the flour. When you roll out the dough you'll note that it is very resistant to tearing at the thinner settings. Oh, and as for regular semolina, toss your pasta in it to keep it from sticking rather than regular flour. One final note, I use the dough hook of my stand mixture to form the dough ball. I add 2 cups of semola to the bowl along with about a tsp of salt. (I'm guessing since I just pour some into my palm.) With the speed set to stir I slowly add cold water to the flour until the dough pulls away from the sides. This cuts the knead time to about 5 minutes and minimizes "olio di gomito".
John Brandolini I find this very helpful, thanks!
Thank you for your question, Andrea. We'd recommend you dry the pasta on cooling racks - will work great!
I love the fact that this recipe does not include egg and chemicals. Thank you.
Egg is not a ‘chemical’ 😂
Andrea, we'd recommend following the same resting and drying directions as in the video. To cook the pasta, you'll most likely need 3-5 minutes. It's best to taste the pasta after a few minutes of cooking to see if it at the right doneness. Enjoy!
this is awesome recipe so easy and quick I bought manual pasta maker because of this video so much fun!
Oooh I can't wait to try this one out! Thanks
I have tasted it and it's very good
wow, great recipe and seems healthier, gotta try it.....thanks!
2cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
Half cup warm water
Kneed dough 10min
Rest for 30 min
Start shaping pasta to your liking
After Shaping let it rest 10min to dry up. Then boil in salted water 😊
Can maida be used
Flouring the surface makes sense, but it appears video is using all purpose flour. Since semolina is a coarsely ground durum, Might it be ok to use fine durum flour on the board?
I've never made eggless pasta before but I'm going to try this!
Certainly trying it!! Thanks
hi...really helpful video...can you please tell me for lasagne sheets i'll roll them and cut them in sheets and after that boil them for lasagne right?...please answer me cause i've to make lasagne for first time.
thank you
Hi there, yes that sounds correct! You won't need to boil them very long, about 5 minutes. Let us know how the lasagna noodles work for you!
Thanks for reply... I'll sure post feedback once I made them...
@@madhusush80 For fresh pasta lasagna I personally do not precook the pasta because they cook so fast. You just have to adjust the liquid level in your sauce because the pasta will absorb some of it and the starch may thicken the sauce a little bit.
thanks for sharing. i've subscribed☺. can i use gluten n wheat free all purpose flour?
Do you have to use semolina flour or will plain/all purpose flour be ok?
Im defanetly gonna try this
Would this work with wheat flour?
Hi, qochemist! Thanks for your question. Semolina is produced by milling or grinding the starchy part of durum wheat kernels into a course flour. It is used to make pasta because it has a high protein content and gives the pasta its "bite." You may use whole wheat flour, but the texture and tenderness of the pasta will be different. Try both ways and compare the results.
Allrecipes Thank you for such a thorough response
Thanks a lot for the recipe.
Hi can I use an all purpose flour instead of semolina as I cannot afford it ..thank you
Yes, my Grandmother always used AP flour.
which flour? i cant hear it right plzz tell
Could you exchange the semolina for all purpose? Maybe with cornflour?
can the dough be used to make lasagna sheets?
WOW!! Amazing that you managed to make vegan pasta!!!!!! I LOVE the recipe!!!
I thought it was just pasta that you can make when you don't have any eggs
I guess my family is weird. We never made such smooth, thin, and even noodles. Its always thick, rough, and mis shaped. it might not look nice, but everyone that's had it loves it.
Great
can i use AP flour for this ?
today I made past noodles using this recipe but semolina flour gets dry very fast and it is difficult to flatten it. I dont have pasta machine so I rolled the dough using rolling pin. But I tried hand pasta machine which is cylandrical but dough was too thick for that still I thinned it as thin as possible. Then I cut it with knife intothin strips but when I picked them up from table top then they thinned out even more. I have left out to dry Lets see how they come after being boiled. Thanks for recipe I was looking for.
Good
Hi Voormila, thanks for your question. You certainly can use this recipe for lasagna sheets! Enjoy :)
is all purpose flour okay?
Looks like a nice, chunky tomato sauce! Feel free to use your favorite sauce for this pasta.
Please reply me that we can use all porpose flour instead of samolina flour
No, but I'll try it as soon as I have the chance!!!! How should I dry them if I make shaped pasta????
Thank you!! What was it you were on top of the pasta before you ate it????
Awsome
We can use all porpose flour instead of samolina flour
Thank you. Does it take 45 seconds to cook the pasta if I make shaped pasta???? Should I let the pasta dry for 10-15 minutes if I make shaped pasta?????
So glad you like this recipe! Have you given it a try yet?
Thank you for the video.
where to get the pasta machine?
can i use the same recipe to do eggless lasagna sheets ?
can you use corne meal
does it have to be plastic wrap?
What would you use instead, Cindy Amarasangghadewi?
+Allrecipes why are you so rude?
a wet cloth would do dear, just squeeze all the water out.
+Diya Bafna how is that rude, it was a non rhetorical question
Awesome recipe thanks a lot :)
lovely!!
Can you use all purpose flour instead of the semolina flour?
You could, Megha Lokanadham, but expect some differences. Semolina flour is a courser flour, pale yellow in color, and is milled from a harder variety of wheat than all-purpose flour. It's used to make pasta because it's sturdier and will hold shapes, especially in water. All-purpose flour is finer and primarily used for baking, but it will work.
Could I use plain flour ??
Thank you for your question, Cleo. You could use plain flour in this recipe, but the texture of the noodles wouldn't quite the same. Enjoy!
Can this be used to make ravioli?
You bet, Rashi Dewan! Give it a try.
Flour Salt Oil Water no eggs. Very vegan.
What the hell is “Flour Salt Oil Water no eggs”? Have you ever heard of commas?
what's the shelf life of this pasta say if I dried it and put it in the freezer?
Hi there, fresh pasta can be stored in the refrigerator for up to four days, or frozen for up to a month - but remember, it is raw dough, so any moisture can easily damage it. Freeze it carefully, or even better, just eat it all right away. Check out this article at Allrecipes.com for more info, too - allrecipes.com/howto/fresh-pasta/detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=homemade%20pasta&e8=Article%20Search&event10=1&e7=Search%20Results, Happy Cooking!
Allrecipes thank you
Can Brown Rice Flour be used?
Thanks for your question, mike w. You can try making this recipe using brown rice flour. It will have a different protein or gluten content than wheat flour so the results may be different (not as stretchy), but give it a try and let us know what happens.
Hey guys,
I only have _durum_ wheat flour and I wanted to ask:
*How much will my results vary?*
You will be fine using durum wheat flour, Naili Ernst. In fact, this kind of flour is called semolina when it's coarsely ground, so it's an excellent choice for pasta making. The pasta will have a more tender texture.
Allrecipes Thank you for the quick answer! Wish you guys happy holidays.
If I were to pre-make it do I leave it at room temperature or on the refrigerator?
Hi Elke, if you want to dry your pasta, it's perfectly safe to leave them separated at room temperature. If you prefer your pasta fresh, make small "nests" of noodles and store them in airtight containers in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
Please recipe with measurement
hi can i use whole wheat flour
Yes, you can use whole wheat flour, Santana Stultz, but we think you'll be happier with a recipe designed for whole wheat flour. Like this one: allrecipes.com/recipe/72525/whole-wheat-pasta/
@@allrecipes how about a whole wheat eggless recipe? There's a lot of vegans and plant based eaters in the world! Thank you!
That pasta though
Now I got to get me a pasta machine.
I think I need a recipe with lye solution
how is it al dente in 45 seconds? dont you mean raw
Did she use white flour to kneed the dough?😐😟
You may use either all-purpose flour for the kneading step, words0217, or more semolina flour. Here's the link to open the original recipe if you wish to review the ingredients and steps: allrecipes.com/recipe/12044/eggless-pasta/
Enjoy your homemade pasta!
great, i don't have a pasta maschine so i made lasagne... thx.
Imagine if all humans in this world are vegan.. it will be so amazing
no
yes!
One word. Cheese.
@sheldon pereira Apart from the fact that animals who are eaten nowadays no longer obtain vitamin B12 naturally, but are supplemented with it - it doesn't matter whether we give the animal the food supplements or whether we take them ourselves(the supplements). We could simply exclude the middle man here - problem solved, no brain damage, no b12 deficiency and we'd left the trees anway. :)

Enjoyed the instructions - certainly doesn't look too scary to try! Background music on this video was awful; made me think I was stuck in side scrolling Italian video game.
That’s some kingdom hearts music right there.
Hey
per piacere in italiano
Voice sounds like Giada
Omg
Is the background music from lazytown?
allmost all pastas don't have eggs in them...

how to make a pasta:
first you buy a pasta
chaaanks!!!!!
Hmm 25% hydration. Interesting.
this pasta looks like noodle, whats the defference?
This is REAL PASTA; the other recopies are noodles. Real pasta is just Semolina,
I'd rather just eat the dough
this is like you are eating just semolina with water. It won't taste like pasta
Maybe not to you but some people actually hate the sulfur taste that egg yolks give to pasta lol personally I am not vegan, and I bake for a living at times so I use alot of eggs, but ever since a kid I have hated strong egg tastes
Cool video although searching vegan pasta on your app is a joke
Dude you don't kneed pasta dough for 10 mins!
I made this cause my mom says we have no money to go to the store and get food cause child support hasn’t come in yet
was this video made for a kids show? I mean, can she talk any slower?
Good grief...too SLOW!
