Jackson West I saw it was a Cav only army so I brought some to try and help stall theirs, I only wish it had done more. It did give him some time though so while they didn’t get many kills they did their job as well as they could

regarding the retreating Macedon units, when a defending player leaves the game on this map the first thing the AI does for some reason is to send its troops over there. I think the Macedonian player left the game.
Thankfully, when he lost connection he only had maybe 3 or so partly depleted units left, so his leaving didn’t affect the outcome of the battle very much. I saw that while attacking (Seleucid) but wasn’t thinking about it because I saw maybe 1 or two units to Macedon’s name while ardi still had plenty of forces to worry about
@@marktaylor7127 cav play was great but inside the city defender lost the battle strategically as Romans got an easy foothold inside the city and defenders retreated too deep to the town centre...also even at the later stages of battle Ardie gave priority to battle-torn Epirus instead of softening some fresh Romans....it also looks like the way that every defender did not want to fight romans...and at last only romans remain with healthy numbers

The reason as Ard I didn't fall back to the center earlier is they die really quickly to missiles and between rome and selu they had almost 5 units of archers left.
Wow, Rome is really strong. How the hell were they allowed to bring 4 Praetorian Guard and like 6 Eagle Cohort? I'd immediately turn down that online match in a heartbeat unless all defenders were able to bring strong AP factions.

im actually surprised why Roxolani isnt one of the most popular multiplayer battles. the faction has solid Heavy Lancers that cuts infantry like butter, combined with their horse archers they can be the main siege Defensive sally force
Finally a Roman player wins..... Great battle, the sally out was really fun to watch, the city defence was painful to witness tho, lots of mistakes on the defenders side but overall REALLY great battle
This just might be my new favorite siege battle. Well fought by both sides but just better teamwork on the attackers side. They worked together really well and even though the defenders did good individually at first the attackers superior teamwork won it for them. That and Praetorians. Fear Praetorians
I think it was the most interesting battle i ve ever watcher here. Grrat effort from both teams and a pity that macedon couldnt kill a little bit more.
Apollo, do you do ambush battles aswell like show a army being brutal massacred or fighting to freedom, just an idea have a army react a certain point on the map to win and escape with freedom
the cav charge on the praetorians and then the failure to form a front line is what lost it at the end for the defenders. The cav should of sat there exerting a zone of threat, if even one Pretorian unit had to watch them it would have been a great advantage especially as eperius was being defeated. edit: and Macedon quitting really hurt the defenders
After watching this video,we did a 4v4 field battle amongst my friends and me and 3 other people played as parthia, roxolani,massagetae,and royal scythia versus ardaeai,odrysian kingdom,saba and Getae
Ardiaei is an undervalue faction, they don't have a great variety of units, but are very useful and competend, if you know how used. They have one of the best hoplite unit and the marines are more powerful that others thureophoroi in the game; the kills they caused in this battle proved it. XD
To be fair, Macedonia lost the game for defenders. Its one of strongest defensive faction, but he picked too man cav, left a lot of gaps for flank maneveurs for enemies, was making strange decisions and etc. Probably new player. But the fight was great!

Curious as to why the Roxolani player was letting Epirus move so easily there in the beginning. With some better manouvering he could have gained a lot more from all of that.
I was trying to let the spearmen go in the city so they wouldn't be a threat then i surrounded epirus army and killed archers + low tier swords and got some arrows in high tier swordsman, surrounded a few of them but i didn't want to risk the big melee fight as the peltast would have rekt my cav, apart from this what i should have done looking at the replay is go around the walls and in the back of rome

Well that’s changed now that I’m later in the video...too bad the cav play didn’t work out as well as it looked in the beginning.

Looks like there was some pretty high funds in this game. Ardiaei normally isn't able to get so many units to blue chevron level.
