He doesn't look aggressive at all to me. Sometimes people just jump to conclusions about certain breeds or appearance. He's a sweetie! Well done for what you have done for him. Hugs and kisses for your dogs 💖🐶💖🐶💖
Agreed! It’s such a shame that people do that. I get it so often with my big, incredibly soft black GSD. It’s usually dogs that are smaller than him that are mean to HIM as well. This dog is a real beauty and seems like a big sweetheart too 🥰
*2 Children Killed, Mother Hospitalized After Family Pit Bulls Attack Them Outside Tennessee Home* Two children were killed and their mother was hospitalized after the family's two pit bulls attacked them outside their family home in Tennessee, authorities said. Family members said Kirstie Jane Bennard, 30, suffered multiple injuries when she tried to pull the dogs off her 5-month-old son Hollace Dean and 2-year-old daughter Lilly Jane, who were killed in the attack. "She put her body on top of Lilly's to try and protect her after the attack started," Bennard's husband's uncle, Jeff Gibson, told USA Today. "Both [dogs] started attacking her while she lay on Lilly." The Oct. 5 attack lasted 10 minutes. According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, the children died at the scene. "I can promise you those children were her world, and if there was any inkling of danger, she would have never had those dogs near her kids," Bennard's best friend Kelsey Canfield told Fox News Digital. "Those children were everything to them, and they just have a really long journey ahead." Canfield said Cheech and Mia had been with the family for eight years. "That attack lasted longer than any one of us could have ever imagined," she added.

*Dog walker savaged to death by own rescue giant pit bull she 'thought she could save'* A dog walker who was mauled to death while walking a pack of eight pets was killed by her own pit bull, it has emerged. Natasha Johnston, 28, suffered catastrophic injuries from "multiple penetrating bites" in the attack near Caterham, Surrey, back in January. Previously, it was reported that the dog responsible was an American Bully XL, and the animal was destroyed following an investigation. However, veterinary surgeon Dr Alison Robson - an expert court witness who examined Natasha's cause of death - has revealed that Stan was a pit bull, which is one of four breeds banned in the UK by the Dangerous Dogs Act of 1991. In November last year, Natasha reportedly rescued Stan from owners who planned to put him down after he bit one of their children. He also bit Natasha twice in the days leading up to the tragic attack, a friend said. Her pal Delia Lewis, whose own dog was among the pack that day, told the Daily Mail: "She felt Stan hadn't been trained and with the correct care and affection he'd be fine. Her boyfriend said it wasn't a good idea and, having seen how troublesome Stan could be, my response was, 'Are you sure?' "But she loved dogs with a passion and she was still grieving for her black staffy, Missy, who had recently died, so she didn't take our advice." According to the newspaper, Natasha sent a picture of herself with Stan four days after rescuing him. The image shows her cuddled up to the creature while wearing a fluffy onesie, as he snoozes in her arms. She sent it alongside the message: "Back to the sofa! I was ordered back to bed for a while!"
*Family adopted rescue dog two weeks ago, and then it mauled its owner to death* Joe Varanese had been helping his mother back to her wheelchair after using the restroom when the family’s new rescue dog became upset. Carolyn Varanese was facing her son, her arms draped over him, when Smokey, believed to be a pit bull or pit bull mix, attacked the woman’s ankle. Carolyn Varanese crumpled to the floor as Smokey went for her jugular. On August 7, 2020, Joe Varanese adopted a pit bull reportedly picked up by Miami Dade Animal Services as an injured stray on June 16 in the city of Miami. Joe’s 84-year-old mother, Carolyn Varanese, let the pit bull, renamed Smokey, share her bed. Bitten multiple times on the head and upper body, Carolyn Varanese died there in the hallway, the 28th pit bull-inflicted fatality in the U.S. of 2020, and the 30th in the U.S. and Canada combined. A Miami Dade Animal Services spokesperson told reporters that Smokey, “did not display any aggression toward humans” during 52 days in the county shelter.
Thank you for adopting both of your beautiful, sweet dogs and giving them a loving home! They are awesome together and know that they have found their forever home. I had an adopted Pitt bull that I totally fell in love with while I was fostering her. I always got fearful looks when I was walking her, so I would stop, have her sit, and let the people walk past us. Every time I would do this, the people would thank me for being so considerate of their concerns. I used her as a good will ambassador for her breed so that people would learn that they can be gentle, loving and non-aggressive. Best of luck with your wonderful fur babies! God bless you and your family! Happy holidays to all of you.❤🐶🙏🏻😊❤️🦴
@@thatsalt1560Salt, I agree that people should be careful around ANY dog that they are unfamiliar with (!not just pitties !) and never just approach someone’s dog to pet it unless you ask first! I simply mentioned that for people who gave me a fearful look when I was walking my pittie, I would ease their fears by simply stopping, having my dog sit, and letting the people know that they were safe to pass. I would do this with ANY dog that I was walking to be considerate of others around me. Not all pitties are bad or aggressive nor are all other breeds of dogs. But unfortunately there are aggressive dogs in the world that give a bad name to their breed. It is up to the dog owner to know the behavior of their dog (aggressive/non aggressive) and act accordingly! Be a responsible pet owner! I loved my pittie and would NEVER place her in a situation where she could possibly be hurt. I knew that she loved being around other people. but I also know that many people are fearful of this breed, so when I notice this I automatically respond and respect their fear and simply have her sit down until these people pass. Thanks for your comment and have a good day!😄
Susan Bennett, I learned that terminology when I was volunteering with my local animal shelter, Animal Friends. They are a wonderful shelter and they offer great training classes to their volunteers to ensure that they have a positive experience and impact with their volunteering at the shelter. Not everyone knows much about each breed of dog (that would be almost impossible) and there is so much bad information or fears being passed along about certain breeds of dogs that is unfortunate. I, as a dog owner and volunteer, want to do whatever I can and how much I can to help each dog to be goodwill ambassadors to everyone that we (me and the dog) happen to come in contact with along the way. This way I/we can dispel any misunderstandings and falsehoods about certain dog breeds along the way . Anyone or any dog can become a goodwill ambassador. It takes a little extra work, but it is sooo worth the effort! Thanks for your great comment and have a wonderful holiday season!😊❤

God bless Katelynn for rescuing and caring for Tater tot. It’s awful how people judged him and didn’t want him at the dog park. Even though Tater tot was abused, Katelynn and her Mom showed him love and kindness. He is healed and happy. He lives a dream life.🐶👍❤️🐶😊

Tater's eyes are so deep. His ears crack me up. Those eyes though say he has been through some bad 'ish. It takes a special someone to rescue a pupper like Tater, then to adopt another is truly something very special. Many blessings to you young lady for doing your best to love and care for this beautiful baby.🙏🏾💜
What a beautiful dog TaterTot is! He reminds me so much of my friend's dog, Moose. He was very scared of everything and everyone the first month or so that he was adopted. But through patience, love, and kindness, he eventually blossomed and now is the happiest, gentlest, most tranquil pittie you could ever hope for. Thank you for adopting him and giving him such a good life.

Thank you for saving the tot and giving him a chance. He is SOOO HANDSOME! I’m glad he has a sister to snuggle with. You have a bond that both of you need. We are so unworthy of their unconditional love and trust. I have two little knuckleheads of my own that have me trained very well. They bring such joy and laughter into my life. I need them as much as they need me.
You are so beyond blessed to have two bully babies! Their eyes and ears are love indicators, saying what you need to see and hear. Sorry that others can't give your pups a chance to prove that there is no reason why they shouldn't be at the dog park. Hopefully in time the dissing of Bully breeds will lessen or go away entirely. Love and licks to you all 🐾🤗

Such a cute story. While breeders are important/necessary for continuing breeds and to sell to some individuals (for example, some kennel clubs will not let you register a dog with them unless the dog has papers), for most, adopting is better both financially and logically. I would also like to say that one thing some don't know is that Pit Bull, or Bull breed, type dogs are not the only breeds you can commonly find in shelters. Along with Pit Bulls, Beagles, Dachshunds, Labrador Retrievers, Chihuahuas, Border Collies, and German Shepherds are some breeds that are said to be some of the most common to find in shelters. Something these dogs all have in common is that they are quite popular. It is a common misconception that if a dog is commonly seen in shelters, that means nobody wants that breed or type of dog, but that is not the case. Take Pit Bulls for example. Pretty much everywhere you look, you can see someone with a dog many would consider a Pit Bull. If they were filling up the shelters due to nobody wanting them, wouldn't we not see them in so many homes?
I am surprised no one clipped his ears, which is great! That alone gives him a softer look. He does have piercing eyes that could be intimidating, along with the size of his head and that serious look he has. I was waiting for the smile and there it was!!!❤ I need to see that in a dog and know that they are happy. He's happy and it's good to know he also has a "mate"!
Wish more people took a chance on these dogs. They are so deserving of love and a family. It was sad when she was saying people would not want their dogs around him etc. the breed of dog you have should not matter, you should always look at the owner and how well the dog behaves. ANY breed can be great❤️
I have rescued 3 of them...1 is deceased...1 is now 14 and the other is a Staffy now 5. Don't EVER let anyone tell pitties Don't know what love is! He's beautiful and you are blessed. THANK YOU. I have NEVER regretted my choices!
Well done, young lady! You took on the challenge of a relative unknown, and you overcame your uncertainty, and cared for Tater Tot in the process. He looks like a very warm and affectionate dog. Take care.
He has bat ears lol! They're sooo cute!! He's definitely soul bonded to you, mama! And might I say, Caitlyn you are such a compassionate, selfless person! To move to a home with carpet only so he's most comfortable. You have a life partner in tater tot!🙏🏻💕
Wow ! I love your story. He couldn't have gotten a better home. I love those antenna like ears ! Anytime I've been to the dog park, the pitbulls just want to play and have fun. A true party animal and the class clown.
When I was very young I was abused and neglected by my bio mom. As much as that part of my life hurt and caused me to have certin issues, I believe it also has helped me to be more empathetic to the animals I foster. Helping them heal, as sappy as it sounds, helps me heal also. I was adopted, and rescued by my grandparents after they learned what my bio mom had been doing. I am grateful for everything they did for me, and I'm sure Tatertot is also for all you've done for him. Thank you for choosing to adopt him, and being as patient as he needed.
Tater tot is such a handsome good boy. You are incredibly blessed that he chose you. It makes my heart happy knowing he’s being well taken care of. God bless your kind heart. ❤️
As a social worker, I went into many homes where I was not welcome. I was initially afraid of the pities. But overtime, I found these pups to be sweet and loving; sometimes much nicer than my clients were

This melted my heart to the point I felt it inky stomach. He loved straight away even though he was Still a bit scared. So good he is as loved now he deserves the best xx
Given his fear of random items and noises, and men in particular, I can only imagine that he comes from a chaotic home with an abusive man who would beat him with random items. Tot's fear of her crying and/or being upset likely stems from the fact that the man of the house abused the female(s) of the house too, not just Tot, and Tot associates females crying with the man being angry and abusive. So he hides when that happens. Poor doggo. I'm glad he's in a loving home now, like he deserves. Also that crooked bottom lip of his is awesome, lol.
He is adorable & so wonderful you saved him ! Don't let people bully you or scare you off at the dog parks ! They have NO right to do that & you have EVERY right to be there with your dog. Let them leave if they aren't decent enough to come & meet him & talk to you ! It's THEIR problem not yours 😊

It is amazing how a pitbull, or any bull breed matter of fact will change ur life. I've always had dogs in my life, but 2007 I met a dog that changed my life. Sadly she passed in 2017. Omg those ears, yes he chose you, he recognised a lovely kind and caring human being, what a wonderful dog wishing you and your gang the best of everything, dogs are such a gift in our lives.
The best thing about taking a Pit to the dog park is that you eventually have it all to yourself. We had a Pit who was trained to sit when out for a walk and not move as people approached. They still moved to the other side of the street. The majority are the best cuddle buddies.

*Family from Oahu mourns baby killed by pet pit bull*
A couple from Oahu lost their baby after she was attacked by their pet dog.
It happened Monday in the northwest Las Vegas valley.
Layla Tsuda, who is originally from Kaneohe, said in a statement: “I have no words to explain my pain.”
Six-month-old Kamiko was playing in a baby walker near Mana, the family pit bull, when it happened.
According to the family, Tsuda went to the bathroom and when she came back, she found Mana biting the baby. Kamiko was taken to the hospital and later died.
*The family was blindsided by the attack. We’re told Mana has been a part of the family for nine years, has never bit anyone before, and was considered a good family pet.*
*Dog walker savaged to death by own rescue giant pit bull she 'thought she could save'*
A dog walker who was mauled to death while walking a pack of eight pets was killed by her own pit bull, it has emerged.
Her boyfriend said it wasn't a good idea and, having seen how troublesome Stan could be, my response was, 'Are you sure?'
"But she loved dogs with a passion and she was still grieving for her black staffy, Missy, who had recently died, so she didn't take our advice." According to the newspaper, Natasha sent a picture of herself with Stan four days after rescuing him. The image shows her cuddled up to the creature while wearing a fluffy onesie, as he snoozes in her arms. She sent it alongside the message: "Back to the sofa! I was ordered back to bed for a while!"

Joe Varanese had been helping his mother back to her wheelchair after using the restroom when the family’s new rescue dog became upset.
Happy holidays to all of you.❤🐶🙏🏻😊❤️🦴
People should be careful around pitts they don't know.
I love it “good will ambassador.” 👍🏼

*2 Children Killed, Mother Hospitalized After Family Pit Bulls Attack Them Outside Tennessee Home*
Two children were killed and their mother was hospitalized after the family's two pit bulls attacked them outside their family home in Tennessee, authorities said.
"Both [dogs] started attacking her while she lay on Lilly."
The Oct. 5 attack lasted 10 minutes.
According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, the children died at the scene. Bennard was taken to a local hospital where she is in stable condition.

Tater Tot is absolutely precious. As is the case with so many dogs, you saved each other. Glad he's living his best, spoiled life. 😂❤
What a nice young woman! I love the sidecar end scene with her dad.
I'm crying tears of pure happiness that Tater Tot is learning nothing but love & a real sense of security with this very sweet young woman❣❣❣

You for taking a chance and adopting this loving , absolutely, beautiful, fur baby.

Those EARS!!! ❤️
Great insights TYSM 💓
He is adorable & so wonderful you saved him ! Don't let people bully you or scare you off at the dog parks ! They have NO right to do that & you have EVERY right to be there with your dog. Let them leave if they aren't decent enough to come & meet him & talk to you ! It's THEIR problem not yours 😊

The best thing about taking a Pit to the dog park is that you eventually have it all to yourself. We had a Pit who was trained to sit when out for a walk and not move as people approached. They still moved to the other side of the street. The majority are the best cuddle buddies.
