      Oh wow! Sorry for not responding sooner. My wife actually pointed out that I had not responded. This is one of Cotopaxi’s designs. They may still have it available. Their shirts are great quality, nice and soft.

    At first glance this bag looked perfect for what I needed, but it appears that the main compartment is designed less "bucket" style and more for flat items like a tablet and laptop. Does that sound about right?
    Unfortunately for me, I'm looking for a sling about that size that has a more bucket style main compartment for things like a Nintendo switch in a travel case, over ear headphones, etc. It's not enough stuff to fill up a big backpack, but too much to fit with my clothes in my main pack. I'd also want to wear the bag along my front since my main carry-on is a backpack.

      Hey, thanks for writing. It can be bucket style depending on how you unzip it, I see what you mean, though. I’ve traveled with it using a switch in a carry case, putting it in the laptop sleeve. There’s enough padding in the back where you don’t notice it. Additionally I also put in a tech kit, a spare sweater and some other stuff. It’ll fit your use case.
      Based on what you said, though, maybe a Bellroy Venture sling would fit your needs? Or a Boundary Supply Errant Sling?

      @@ofthetraveler thanks for the reply! I'll take a look at those other slings, but keep this one on my watch list as well.
      Good to know it can be used for bulkier items as well, other companies tend to force the "sleek" style by limiting how much stretch is in the fabric so that you can't fit bulky items in the bag. So the liter size is misleading because it's really only meant to hold a large laptop and not anything with dimension.

      @@kme06d I hear you, and those designs drive me crazy because not everyone carry’s nothing but flat items. The Chasqui can expand out quite a bit. For the price, it’s a great little bag - good value for sure. The only thing is that front carry, although possible, isn’t that great looking. I did it a bunch when going with my family to Epcot.

    Thanks for being quick out with a first impression. Even though there is no quick release buckle, how difficult is it to simply unclip the sling from the D-ring instead?

    • @ofthetraveler
      @ofthetraveler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a good call. I’ll give that a try next time I use it.

      So I’ve been using it now and making an effort to swing it around and disconnecting the D-Ring. It works, but it’s a little clunky, especially when the pack is heavy.

      Thanks for following up on this. I think an easy to release buckle or clip is important for a sling. Too bad this pack is not as easy to release the strap as I had hoped.

    Hey thanks for the review.
    I’m a shorty man 5,7 tall . Do you think it would be too big or chunky for me?
    Thinking on getting it for my next trip to Colombia … thanks again

      Hey! I am a fellow “short-king” as they say, I am 5’7 as well. I think it’s a good size for us. The only downside is that if you want the bag high and tight, there will be a bit of excess strap dangling. If you can get a strap keeper of some sort, then it’s a non-issue and the size is awesome. I use this whenever I do anything more outdoorsy with my family and also when I’ve gone to Disney. For strap keepers, check out the strap keepers at Tom Bihn.
