No employer deserves your undying loyalty. My dad was a hard-working, reliable employee who turned down job offers from other companies to be loyal. As soon as the company needed to lay people off to avoid any cuts for the fat cats at the top he was dropped. Most employers don't care about you as a human being, you are just a number. I was 15 the winter my family moved into this particular house; heating was done with wood stoves. My task was to fill the wood bins so there'd be fuel for the stoves overnight. I was told "go around the house with sticks of wood in your arms to fill the bins". I made ONE trip, only carrying 2 sticks. Then I saw the wheelbarrow, and loaded it up. 2 trips later (instead of all night long) the task was done. I did NOT want to spend all night running around the house in the snow hauling wood, when I could be getting my homework done in that same time period, so looked for a more efficient way to get the same task done.
That is not true, hatdwork doesn't mean physical efforts alone, it means dedication. If you are not hardworking, you can't be a specialist in the medical field or Technology. There is no short cut. Alux is talking about just physical efforts which is not totally wrong. You have to put in the effort in lots of field to be a specialist or professional (talent).
5 years ago i litteraly worked myself to the bringk of death. This was the moment I learned this lesson the hard way, why I have to work smarter instead of harder. Im planning to share my story in one of my next Videos and hopefully this way prevent somebody from doing my mistakes, overachievers and energiezed hustlers tend to ignore this untill its to late. 2020 is a life-changing year for me. I was watching another video on another channel and it was said there is a shift towards another level of spiritual awareness. There is a reason I found the Alux channel this year - I am learning a lot! The most important point for me is "Hard work isn't always linked to good planning." I see this ALL the time. So, I am going to stop working hard. From now on, it's all about smart planning and working smart. No more hustle. And I am going to embrace the one-track mind mentality - no more multi-tasking.
I worked so hard as a high school teacher that I acquired ocd (a debilitating version) after the first year which temporarily disabled me and eventually led me to getting fired. Don't take your work too seriously as stress can destroy you. (By the way after five years I am now healthier than ever!(
I was in a similar situation. I taught in and inner city district and enjoyed it, but it got to be too much. Low test scores. Below grade level reading. Canned Curriculum. I was tired. I had to make a change. As much as I loved the students where I taught, I had to leave for my own sanity. I am now having the time of my life teaching in a smaller, more community oriented district.
I work hard. I build furniture for a living. I'm 48 years old and it keeps me in shape. I look at it like a gym but they pay me. 😁 With that said, I also live debt free including no mortgage and rental property that's free and clear. I have 401k, profit sharing, medical, dental, vision, life ins, 4 weeks paid vacation plus holidays. Plus a few other Perks. I lived off rental income for several years to be a stay at home mom. The easy life gets boring and a sedentary lifestyle is terrible for your health. I'm turning my hardwork into dividend paying stocks and crypto. If real estate crashes, I'll turn my hardwork into a beach house. I still believe in hardwork. I have friends who sit in front of a computer. They feel so entitled that they can't even mow their lawn. They spout out b.s. about how much money they make and can't waste their time lol. They spend that time going to the Dr for high blood pressure pills and cholesterol pills etc Hardwork isn't as outdated as people like to think.
Working hard is not a bad thing. It just not as effective if you don't know what you're doing. The key is to work hard as well as smart. You have to be able to differentiate between which tasks are essential and which can be done faster if shortcuts are available but at the end of the you've to put in the necessary time and effort in a smart way to succeed in anything.
i know what you mean, but there is always something to do, even just making wrold the better place, you should not waste your potential and do more than you think is possible
Wow! I had this argument with some friends last night ! In Greece the working hours are between 8-10 hours and the average payment is about 650$ a month. Also the bars and clubs of Greece close at 7 a.m. on the weekends and some the same hour on the weekdays. Due to the health situation now they are forced to close at midnight and I argued that this new order of things may increase the personal productivity of many people because of the fact that the majority now will not be staying up until the morning drinking. Everybody at the table came at me telling me that I’m not considering all the -hard working- people that are gonna loose their jobs etc etc .. what is it with hard working people that the majority so much likes and easily defends and not that much self made and competent people ?! Good for them that chose to work hard. I chose to invest in real estate and start my own leather goods company. Why is no one congratulating me, let’s say, but so many people rush to defend and justify the working class !? (Rhetorical question unfortunately)
@@interman7715 In Ukraine, average monthly pay is about $400/month. Some make only $200/month. So if I rent out my 20-acre ranch for $5k/month, I could live like a king in Ukraine, not need to work, and be surrounded by sexy girls.

Working hard will end up by frustration and empty pockets. If we see Factory worker and cleaner,we can prove this easly. Hard work end up by high stress and early death too.As I saw most of peoples workhard but lead poor life. Thanks
Simple advice: in whatever you do,always try to move within the “Pareto area”, just to get as much benefit (“80%”) with the least/minimum effort (“20%”)👌🏻 If you go beyond, you are going to start spending extra time with a little return
Working hard especially in America is a misnomer, the hardest working people some times are the poorest, they eventually experience burn-out some people build up so much stress, to cause a heart Attack. Millions of people are underpaid and overworked. We all have to work, but when you love what you do, it's no longer the grudge of just work. Smarter is always better.
The best advice:"you must work smart and hard, adapt whatever you want and can, sell time and quality, question whenever you don't understand some things, leave the weaklings, some will not love you secretly,or like you, empowering the goodies,be positive, get rid of meanies."
Show this video in a gym and the only people that will agree you are the ones that get no results. “Working hard” as referenced in this video is really no different than the gym example. There are no consistent shortcuts in life.everyone fails at some point. Learn from your mistakes. Continuously work on building your understanding and realize that working hard is just working.don’t forget that what may seem hard to you may be easy to others and what may be easy for you may seem hard to others.this is why working hard is really a subjective term that you shouldn’t concern yourself with. Its actually just a limit you place on yourself by making work seem difficult. Also, the term can be used to gain recognition as well. Nature still rewards the hardest workers. I’m really curious to see what people have to say about this.
This economic crisis is just a time that differentiate the wise from the others. The wise will invest right now either in stock or cryptocurrency just to hold some shares of something.
My mistake before creating the business was joining am MLM, that definitely messed me up in many ways... Including thinking the MLM was my business. No. No, no no. Since I am not the CEO of the MLM, then it is not my business. Lots of cognitive dissonance, lies, and working my butt off to make other people money. That was a big mistake. Lesson learned.
As long as you have a clear goal, heading in the correct direction is all you need. Being able to be creative and adaptive to changing circumstances will lead you further to attainment instead of planning.
Hard work is needed be it hustle or sweat equity in the creation of any vision but employing technologies of the day or maybe even repurposing the technologies of the past is essential
You have to work hard in putting in motion several initiatives that provide you benefits,in opposition to work hard just in one (that’s what most people do in general). But each of the initiatives have to request the least time from you. Otherwise you are blocking yourself from expanding more. Your time is limited to 24h a day,so you have to choose well in what you invest them and try to extract the maximum gain of it

@Lukas Persson -- _Why not study stock market strategy now?_ They say, and I've found it true, to become an expert spend 10,000 hours working and / or learning a subject. A work year is (40 hours times 50 weeks =) 2,000 hours. Thus, 10,000 hours is five years of work, one way to become an expert. You say you're a teenager in school? Could you find five hours for study on each Saturday and Sunday? That's ten hours. Can you set your alarm clock 1.5 hours early during the week or find the same time in the afternoon or evening? Sure you can. Now you're up to 17.5 hours a week to study what you are truly passionate about, right? _Don't make excuses; make solutions._
This sounds great but, for most of us living down here on planet earth, wage slavery means long hours, low pay and zero job security. It's a hard trap to break free from...................
@Heidi Aguilar -- So you find a better employer that probably pays you more. Then, one day you'll drive past your old employer and it will be either a shuttered building or something new like Amazon warehouse.
I think hard work is quiet important for success but if you don't work smart (and efficiently) you are gonna work hard (like a labour) your entire life.. By smart work I don't mean cheating, doing something illegal or being unfair but working in a more organised and optimistic way by fairly eleminating any unnecessary work or creating more worth out of your work in lesser time (and maybe effort).. Don't be the programme Be the programmer
I am a factory worker. I am a floor supervisor. Any advice on how to be a good supervisor? Not everyone likes the boss but some are better than others.
My grandpa used to tell me in Latin "Labor improbus Omnia vincit," hard work supersedes all obstacles, unfortunately not what I experienced. And it's the reason why I despise that Puritan ideology of love of work just for being work
But It's more fulfilling to take the path of more resistance vs the path of least resistance. Challenges like hard work is good for the development of the brain according to the book Mastery by Robert Greene and Evolve Your Brain by Joe Dispenza. And also The notion of hard work will inspire you after reading the book called Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins.
Depends on what you are attempting to achieve. Working hard is sometimes the correct action, and other times it is working smarter. Do you think working hard at meditating is the best approach? Or Building a business? It is all context.
People that are to smart ( or ovequalified/ or genius) work hard because they didn't found their own Smart way of doing things. Ugly truth of life, I'm one example.
Work hard and work smart these two are crucial to success and can't have one without the other for success. The label of this video is inaccurate. It should be hard work alone is insufficient.
I get confused whenever people say hard work like to me there are two types of hard work one is physically working like construction, roofing etc, and the other is working at in office and doing 10 to 14 hours a day.
A lot of times i tend to multitask but there's a better way to get ahead and work smarter by focusing on one thing at a time. There's a great book, 'The One Thing' by Gary W. Keller and Jay Papasan that talks about this.
Thank you the truth is i have that eperience to workhard with consistency has always good result never give up improve and keep going in some ways that helping and productive to us thank you Alux God bless
I regret going to college since last month. They're trying to train people to be worker drones, not successful people. I'm thinking of cancelling, but I don't want to be a "quitter".
I love Alux but this one pissed me off!!! Sounds like most of the points are from the perspective of a corporate employee. This is exactly the kind of thinking that misleads young people, glorifies soft skills and devalues hard skills. Not everyone has the luxury of time to study life hacks well enough to make them practical in real life ala tim ferris. Working hard is not really dumb, it solidifies your knowledge. A specialized engineer would never be able to implement a project from conception to design to implementation to testing and integration. I on the other hand can take a project from start to finish through the use of multi-skill talent I acquired through efficient hard work. Without relying on life hacks I am able to enjoy hard work in short bursts for a little over 1000 hours per year. The balance of a 2080hr year I get to spend on whatever i want, mainly my family. Work hard on the projects you control there are no shortcuts.!!!!!!

Simple advice: in whatever you do,always try to move within the “Pareto area”, just to get as much benefit (“80%”) with the least/minimum effort (“20%”)👌🏻 If you go beyond, you are going to start spending extra time with a little return
I’ve written this comment before reaching the point 15 of the video😄 Glad to see I’m aligned with Alux👌🏻
Work hard, study hard, live below your means and start investing early.
The best advice:"you must work smart and hard, adapt whatever you want and can, sell time and quality, question whenever you don't understand some things, leave the weaklings, some will not love you secretly,or like you, empowering the goodies,be positive, get rid of meanies."
Trust those who are already where you want to be. You may not use the same path, but dedication & will = HARD WORK
Show this video in a gym and the only people that will agree you are the ones that get no results.
Working smarter and harder is the key 🔑
Hard work is good for you.. cause work isn't about success.. its about purpose.
purpose can exist outside of hard work especially repetitive low skilled hard work
This economic crisis is just a time that differentiate the wise from the others. The wise will invest right now either in stock or cryptocurrency just to hold some shares of something.
The rich stay by spending like the poor and investing non stop, while the poor stay poor by spending like the rich and yet not making any investment
Investing in bitcoin now should be at the top of every wise individuals list

My mistake before creating the business was joining am MLM, that definitely messed me up in many ways... Including thinking the MLM was my business. No. No, no no. Since I am not the CEO of the MLM, then it is not my business. Lots of cognitive dissonance, lies, and working my butt off to make other people money. That was a big mistake. Lesson learned.
Efficiency is Key
Yes!
Tell me more about this clever technique.
Hard work is working like a donkey
Smart work is working like a fox
Plans are nothing; planning is everything.
Planning is nothing without action. Action is 75-85%.
As long as you have a clear goal, heading in the correct direction is all you need. Being able to be creative and adaptive to changing circumstances will lead you further to attainment instead of planning.
Action means nothing without execution
Even if you fail at the end hard work will always be recognized - Might Guy
Hard work is needed be it hustle or sweat equity in the creation of any vision but employing technologies of the day or maybe even repurposing the technologies of the past is essential
You have to work hard in putting in motion several initiatives that provide you benefits,in opposition to work hard just in one (that’s what most people do in general). But each of the initiatives have to request the least time from you. Otherwise you are blocking yourself from expanding more. Your time is limited to 24h a day,so you have to choose well in what you invest them and try to extract the maximum gain of it
I always tell my co workers smart work over hard work. Everyone works hard.
This video highlights and make very clear the hardwork defenation for many of us👍 Good job Alux
Diligence & intelligence can go hand in hand believe me
Alux has helped me changed my life the last three years
Finally youtube gave answer to one of my questions
Nah, smart hard work is actually rare.
But the thumbnail said "Working hard is dumb", anyways, what about the 'successfull' people ranting to work hard?
Anyway anyways
It's to get their employees to work harder for them.
You've missed the point.
@@pranalisarpotdar8203 what point, care to explain?
They are trying to say that don't ONLY work hard.
We love you alux being Watching for two years hope one day when I'm successful your still here so I can connect you to my tv gym in the backyard , chef preparing healthy meal an I'm taking your advice for a new approach or as a reminder
What is something you worked hard at that you wish you had rather worked smart at?
Well to be honest life i guess!
Hi,
Is it productive to work while watching this video? I am doing it right now then this question pops out. Thanks!
When I’m an adult I will work as an electrician and learn to invest in stocks, when I’m good at it I will try to get rich from stocks and start to invest in stocks full time
@Lukas Persson -- _Why not study stock market strategy now?_
They say, and I've found it true, to become an expert spend 10,000 hours working and / or learning a subject.

@@runguys370 the worst thing you scammers can do is reply to my comment. Get a life.
This sounds great but, for most of us living down here on planet earth, wage slavery means long hours, low pay and zero job security. It's a hard trap to break free from...................
I work hard and smart. Both are important to me. Do what works for you.
My advice is to work hard, but let your earning or money work harder for you.
Too bad some people take this "don't work hard, work smart" thing the wrong way to excuse their laziness
True
This video should be shared to a maximum people
Yah and when you are still dealing with an old antiquated system that you want to change, the employer does not want to change and keeps it the same.
@Heidi Aguilar -- So you find a better employer that probably pays you more.
Then, one day you'll drive past your old employer and it will be either a shuttered building or something new like Amazon warehouse.
Alux working hard to keep us entertained and its working 😁
@@runguys370 lol i know you are fake
I worked hard to make a school project till I noticed I could have just made it more easily on Microsoft word.
But you learned something at the end of the day. That's the journey of success
Don't be the programme
Be the programmer
Despite the economic crisis, this is a Still a good time to invest in Gold and Crypto
The rich spend less and invest more
Gold's are good but crypto is better
That won't bother you if you trade with a professional like Mr Donald

@@amirazivah1345 Yeah.
And it's the reason why I despise that Puritan ideology of love of work just for being work
Thanks Alux! Insightful as always.
@@taoist32 can you explain to me how we can work smarter? And where or which situation we can use it.
We still need Dr. , Engineers, Lawyers, Trade skills. This video is based off youtube or websites success which is trending.
It is based off people who are either entrepreneurs or wanna be entrepreneurs.
Working hard is dumb if you are unhappy with what you are doing
Working hard isn't enough to make you succeed also same as pure intelligence. But both is needed to be successful
People that are to smart ( or ovequalified/ or genius) work hard because they didn't found their own Smart way of doing things. Ugly truth of life, I'm one example.
Built landscaping service from the ground up. Results of success. Haven’t worked for 12 years.
Plan smart and work hard for it..
Shortcut for me means, starting early and avoiding stress
You should add “working hard an cause you physical harm”, I’ve had two hips replaced due to repetitive work
(In kid voice):
But, but, but, Gary Vaynerchuk said I need to work hard hard
😢
Multitasking like cooking while cleaning my room is so much better for me
Bruh what an amazing video...why breathing hard when exercising is dumb
Love this! Learning to hack the system of coaching and speaking 😇

Thank you the truth is i have that eperience to workhard with consistency has always good result never give up improve and keep going in some ways that helping and productive to us thank you Alux God bless
Boxer worked hard. What happened to him? He got turned into a bucket of glue...
Hardwork leads to expensive living this is true, because it will lead you to stress & you tend to spend more
I regret going to college since last month. They're trying to train people to be worker drones, not successful people. I'm thinking of cancelling, but I don't want to be a "quitter".
You're not quitting you're pivoting to align with your strategic objectives!
@@johnbash-on-ger I wanted to say, you should try Masterclass.com. Especially the Ron Howard course (he's an old guy, like me). This guy is INSANE!
Hello Aluxers .This is very good important information thank you .
Thank you
I mean, I wouldn't just dismiss hard work. But there is a point to be made that motion =/= progress. Don't even take my word for it, ask Sisyphus.
Just came up with a thought. Do you have a podcast version of alux? If not why?

Thank you for such inspiring content. I discovered Alux early in 2020. I have a request to restore the background music you used in 2020.
