Could you do a video about how to make the best use of an inheritance? I’m getting $20,000 to $40,000 from the sale of my Grandad’s house and I have $58,000 in student debt. I don’t want to waste it and I want to use it to start a fashion TH-cam channel, a business, and then once I start making enough passive income I want to reduce my work hours and write a novel. I’d also like to build and live in a tiny home renovated bus for a few years so I don’t have to pay rent and can travel easily. I’m trying to think of this inheritance as a seed that my grandad is counting on me to grow into a big strong tree.

    I did it by:
1- Studying what the market needs.
2- Work like crazy. sometimes I were working 3 jobs at the time.
3- Save up money. (as much as I could).
    4- Invest in real estate.
And now I'm planning to open my first business,
    Wish me luck.

I escaped poverty by reading and learning how entrepreneurs get their success. Getting out of debt was a struggle it took me years to get out of( I had to many credit cards). Now I invest, started three businesses, mutual funds, live on less, have an emergency fund and save my money. And I can travel more which I enjoy.

YEEEES GOOD FOR YOU SIS, I’m been on my get out debt free journey now for 5 years and I almost there. This pandemic was a blessing and a curse. Since they stopped the student loan payments, I decided I EASNT GONNA STOP and now my smallest loan will be paid off in about a month and I almost done paying off the interest on the large one. Paid off 3 credit cards, down to 2 to pay off, paid off my car, paid off my taxes that I owed and almost debt free. I started a business that I am working on currently and have my 5 months of savings funds.

When you read articles about financial freedom, you may hear people drone on and on about how they are spending practically nothing so they can retire at a younger age, like 30. Conversely, they may have already achieved financial freedom and are bragging about how frugal they were so they could retire well before the typical retirement age.

    • @Matteo-tg2vc
      @Matteo-tg2vc ปีที่แล้ว +4

Planning for retirement, or even financial freedom, is a marathon and not a sprint, as the saying goes. Breaking up your financial independence goals into small chunks can help keep you on track while making the process a bit more manageable and, hopefully, a little less stressful. Even if you are starting small, the important thing is to get started.

    1) Accept that things have to change
    2) honestly analyse your life & put everything down (costs)
    3) identify the true minimum for survival
    4) cut everything else out for at least 6 months
    5) prioritise immediate high debts
    6) get a job or increase your work volume
    7) save 1 months worth of essential money
    8) pride aside, take every hand out you can get
    9) identify sustainable opportunities to increase your income
    10) start building good credit
    11) re-finance long term debts for better terms
    12) save 4 months worth of essential money
    13) use free resources to build your skillset and monetize that
    14) become a contractor instead of employee
    15) group-source your way out of poverty
Bonus- 18% of all in poverty learn the above lessons and get out

First I grew up with a poor mindset, didn’t graduate high school but got my G.E.D I had kids out of wedlock ( three children to be exact.).
Next, I left their dad and became homeless.
After that I lived with friends and family and dragged my kids along. I also had help from a governmentally funded program to help them attend a great school because of my income. To help show them a different mindset as well and gave them a head start and better start than I had as far as school and education.
I “googled” help for single mothers in my area and found a program locally that helped us. They: gave us a place to live, helped me learn how to budget, helped me find a house (rental) then it was a requirement to be in school.
They matched me with mentors (all college graduates.)
After that program ( which lasted 2 years) I kept going to school and just finished. I am now financially stable and looking to buy my first home.
If you read this and are in similar circumstances, made choices to take the harder route, grew up in a one parent household, never had good relationship role models and know what it’s like not to have lights, water and other essentials. YOU CAN, you are worthy! Keep grinding ❤️

But the Warren Buffett book changed my life. I’ve listened to it 10+ times and bought lots of other books on him since coz he resonated with me more than the others. But I wouldn’t have found it if I didn’t listen to and read the other books.

My father is a millionaire. This is his advice:
    1. Create monetary value for others by doing what you are good at(For my Dad teaching and consulting).
    2. Leverage as much of it as you can in order to do so.
Most of you who work have probably done the first, it is the second part that is tricky. Figure out how to do the second and you will be rich. It depends on your ability to not be replaced by someone else. This is why Amazon and Walmart employees cannot demand higher wages.
Example: Facebook hires nearly 50,000 people, and it made 25 billion in profit in the previous 4 quarters, meaning on average every employee helped generate 500,000 in surplus. If you are an American/European working in a successful company and earn say $50K, make your employer know how you are contributing to their company's success. If you are generating 200K in value that can't be done by someone else, you can leverage that into getting a raise.

I came to the US from Mexico in 1966 at the age of three. In Tijuana Mexico, we lived in a house without running water, we had an outhouse, and power was cut off after 6pm. In August of 66 our paperwork came through and we crossed the border in the US. My parents got us, a family of 5, an apartment in Boyle Heights, by 1969, my very hard working auto mechanic father bought us a house, a duplex, in South Central Los Angeles. Our house and our cars were vandalized, but some very nice neighbors helped us weather the discrimination.
I stacked pizza boxes, had paper route and waited tables all before I turned 18. My parents put us in Catholic School, buy I was an awful student and never went to college. Things went slowly, but I always had an urge to live a certain way. NOT HAVING MONEY SUCKED!!!!. By 25 I had worked my way into a career as an accountant, by my late 20s I had a controllership. By my early 30s I had taken two companies public. By my late 30s I owned real estate in 5 states.
My father told me a story about when he was a kid and my grandfather took him to a field and said, "Look around. You can go ANYWHERE. But if you are dishonest in that direction, you can't go back there and if you keep being dishonest, you will quickly burn all your bridges."
I have built a good strong network. I had TONS of mentors along the way. I have investments and liquid cash. I earned ALL OF IT!!!!

    1) studied very hard in school-this gives you discipline and shows you what your strengths are. 2) took the hardest job that anyone would give me-pushing past your comfort zone reveals those hidden strengths and atlanta that you would never otherwise discover. 3) continue learning throughout your life. 4) Save at least 10% of what you earn-after you pay off any high interest debt. 5) Do not spend money on luxuries, but do spend money where it benefits you and yours.

Ready? Already there! Keep every receipt and write down every purchase to the penny. When my husband and I were first married, we did this and were shocked to find how much we spent on booze. We limited ourselves to one inexpensive bottle of wine per week, and made sure we enjoyed that bottle. This, along with the other steps mentioned in the video, saved us enough for a down payment for a house. We haven't been apartment dwellers for over 30 years. We've owned three homes, the second two of which were paid for with cash. These steps work!

Ready ! I escaped poverty by working at 18 years old. Although i didn't grew up in a poor family but rather in the middle class, i knew from a very young age that continuing in the middle class will leads to poverty so working at this age is crucial to have a better future. Another important thing is mindset. While working, you will meet only poor people (that's why they are still working;) ) and you need to know and believe that you are not like them, otherwise it's easy to be influenced. Build a driving mindset and protect it from the distractions and always remember the final goal. 😍

Thank God if he ever exists that I've improved. I'm still paying debt and I will finally get my architecture degree after 8 years of hard work. I'm almost 30 and when I was a little kid, I've always wanted to become a Doctor or Architect. I can finally say I almost got it.
In general, every obstacle is on your mind. You need to want it badly in the first place. I still have a lot to work. I still want to become a youtuber and I'm still facing some of my left over fears lol. Overall I'm thankful for all my challenges and experiences. I see bad experiences as blessings to move forward. I also believe that the moment you decide to change, the universe helps you on your journey.
And I want to thank Alux. I found u guys very random and your video on how "15 things rich people do that poor dont" called my attention. Since then I've being a loyal member. And they helped a lot on my journey.

    • I stopped giving my resources to and got out of outdated and religious beliefs
    • I accepted my current reality at the time was draining and holding me back and I had to be straightforward about it.

I agree, getting out of religion was also a game changer for me. Religion teaches you to self-sacrifice, to always put others first and give away your time, money, and energy to helping others. I'm all for helping those who want to improve their situation through education, job training, job placement resources, etc. But giving away your own resources at the expense of making yourself poor too is just not intelligent and does nothing to fix the overall poverty issue. You need to get financially secure yourself before you will have the strength and sustainable resources to help others.

Ready! I come from a family of three single mother and established a good foundation for myself by working two jobs 19 hours a day for 5 years. I now own a business and am full-time in my business at 24 years old. I come from severe poverty and a father who hid money, so he didn't have to pay child support.

2 rules if you are poor.
First is you should always be reading. If you aren't a good reader then read Harry Potter and work your way up to self help books and books that focus on a vocation you want to go into. The library is free.
Second. if an opportunity comes your way, no matter how small it is, absolutely own it. If someone offers you $50 to clean their horse stables, don't grumble, do the absolute best job possible. It will open opportunities for other things for you. I've been doing temp work for a long time and every time I get some crummy job with low pay, I own it and usually get a job offer to stay on permanently. Put your best foot forward with any job not matter how small and it will open doors for you.

God’s gift of having the wisdom to watch and mimic the “ haves “ !
When they socialized for fun , I went all in for contacts and secured a job , when they ate out most evenings after work , I excused myself as I couldn’t afford that lifestyle , when they made friends at work for fun and dated around , I personalized my friendships and used the opportunity to sift through for a potential life partner now husband . Wisdom I would say that came only from God !

About 7 years ago I had a negative net worth. Couldn't afford both a car and rent. I earned a full scholarship to get my MBA. Business school was mostly very difficult for me, especially with so many bad health issues, but I made it through somehow, and got a job with an income that was over twice what I was making before. I'm still not wealthy by any means, but I am considerably better off than I was back then.

We got out of poverty by being willing to move to the Midwest (Nebraska to be specific) for a better paying job and chose to live in a tiny town with a 15 minute job commute where rent is only $500 a month on average and there's nothing to do or eat at (so way less temptation to waste money). We had bad credit because we lost our house in the 2008 housing bubble collapse. So we found a small house that the seller was willing to do a lease-to-own agreement on. After 2 years we owned the house outright. We bought a used vehicle instead of a new one and paid it off last year as well. I've always owned multiple online businesses (book publishing, handmade items, etc.) and worked multiple side hustles (including writing, freelance editing, book design, and book cover design) since I was 19, which has helped us through really rough financial times. For the last 3 years, our most successful business has been a print on demand niche fashion business that we primarily sell on Etsy. We only eat out twice a month and even then do so cheaply. We have taken extra money such as tax returns and spent them on solar panels to greatly reduce our electric bills. We recently paid off our largest balance credit card, so now we only have 2 cards with remaining balances to pay off. And this month our tiny town just opened a really good grocery store, so we won't even have to make the 25 mile drive twice a month for groceries in the nearby city anymore.
