Can’t recommend the mgw shifter enough, the shifts are so much smoother!
Did this on my 2016 SS sedan 6MT. Also did a lighter clutch return spring. Love it!!!
I was shocked at how much of a difference it made
I've had mine for 3yrs now. No regrets.

Best install on TH-cam
Thanks a lot!
Enjoying your content man. Just added a c6 to the channel--not announced yet, but will have to pursue this MGW shifter myself! Sub'd for support.
Nice video on the install, thanks. Btw, what exhaust system is on the car? It sounds great.
It was custom axle back with headers and x pipe. Just some generic straight though 12” mufflers
Where did you get the Alcântara shifter boot, and parking brake boot? I like those.
Found them on eBay actually
Great video, I have that same shifter.
It’s the best around!
How long did yours take to arrive after ordering?
3-4 weeks
Where did you get the alcantara shift boot? Just installed mine in my c5 z06!
eBay!

So my c6 with only 15k miles on it sometimes doesn’t fully go into 2nd, it will pop out and grind if I put it back in. Do you think this shifter will fix it? 2nd gear seems a little sloppier in the gate compared to the rest
That’s hard to say I don’t think the shifter wouldn’t allow the trans to go into 2nd gear. Unless the shifter has a huge amount of okay. Maybe there’s another reason why it won’t engage correctly
@@DAPerform I feel like if I don’t press down and hard to the left it won’t fully go into second. It only really happens if I shift lighter than normal and at lower rpms. It’s weird. It’s worse when it’s cold when warm, it’s completely fine. I’m the 3rd owner so idk if it may have a bent shift fork, worn shifter bushings, misalignment in the shifter, or (hopefully not) a shot second gear synchro
@@davidr6865 hard to tell without digging further into it
@@DAPerform yea I figured I’d root out the cheap stuff before dropping couple $k messing around with it. You mentioned that it helped with gear grinding, what type of grinding were you encountering before you swapped the shifter?
@@davidr6865 mostly at wide open throttle shifts but the play I had on the shifter just wasn’t engaging enough into the gear
great video
Thanks a lot!
Sir, What phone mount is this!? I NEED IT!
That is the pro clip phone mount
@@DAPerform I just ordered one! Thanks!!!
BIG DIFFERENCE!
Had mine on for 5 years but only 3k miles. Running into a loud rattling noise on hard acceleration
You know I’ve had the same sound sometimes but I could never figure out what it is
@@DAPerform weird, I won’t wanna pull my dash apart I am gonna take mine to a shop soon it’s getting bad I took a video wish I could share it with you

Any one here notice a reduced difference in synchro scratch after installing the MGW? Got a occasional slight scratch going to 2nd and 3rd. This would be a cheap remedy if so
I never noticed any difference
MGW-Midwest Gun Works.
Nope
Maryland gun works
I'm I the only one that couldn't get the T-40 bolts out?
The MGW shifter is really not all of that. To start with, it is not a complete assembly. You have to use part of you original shifter to make this a complete assembly. It is hard to shift, for a street car shifter. The rubber dust boot is poorly made. And it is just to much money for what it is. A Tick shifter or even a C6 shifter works just as well for a lot less money.
@@jessebunker6062 tick did not have any options when this was purchased, the oem shifter is sloppy, it is slightly more difficult to shift with the ball shifter but that’s about the only complaint I had
To notchy hard to power shift
Put some MAN into it
@@DAPerform good idea just don’t see why stress on shifting with that thing when you can put a B&M shifter and call it a day.
@@DAPerform work smarter not harder 🤣
Doesn't seem like he's having a issue with it.
@@learjets1638 yeah what ever you say with a good Grammar.. 🤣I can see you get my point don’t you.!!
