Good news. Apparently car values for your yellow car are exploding at least on the West Coast. Happy thanksgiving. Even though I have the new car with the DCT I still watched the whole video. You never know when a manual will come into your life.
Nice job. I have a Yellow (One owner 2001) C5 Z06 with a MGW flatstick. I also opted to get the red stick and I got a red carbon fiber shift knob specifically for the MGW which looks phenomenal. I dig your idea because that's what I've done on other cars, adjust the length of the shifter for leverage and ease of use. The MGW is a tad too short in my opinion because the amount force needed to shift even with the anti venom mod, it was noticeable as soon as I installed the shifter. As far as the extension I think Millennium yellow or satin black would look proper, I kind of like the look of the current one instead of a round one, might be more rigid too. You can also cut the extension a little at a time and see what height fits you best. I was going to get a Millennium yellow custom made in a spray can but it's already freezing so I'll wait til spring and spray some parts yellow, I'm considering the throttle body, alternator and possibly the fuel rail covers, I don't plan on painting too much though. You've help me so much and provided me with great insight and ideas for my Z, Ive done so much to it, I only work on it myself since I'm a mechanic. Happy Thanksgiving yellow brother! I thank you for all the great content you produce, excellent videos, even better host and your Z06 is sick as always.
Keep the carbon wrap. But the extension is just adding length for more leverage, so it feels easier to shift, regardless of the throw increase. No big deal to me.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and I was curious about the stingray wall hanger do you have behind you in your garage where did you purchase that I would love to get one
Thanks and same to you. My wife bought that for me a few years ago when we had the C7. I honestly have no clue where she found it. Let me investigate and report back.
I have to do the master this winter and maybe a fuel pump. I don’t think the clutch itself will last through 2022 but then again I didn’t think it would last after my h/c swap in 2021 but th e master did act up on me once. And the clutch engagement feels really terrible in stock form. I have an MGW, have since I got the car, but I want that shifter specifically. The orange one. The MGW helped a lot but the shifting itself it still meh. Not not hey but just stiff even after the anti venom mod. It’s not the detents, and the lower box moved freely on install.
Really! No, REALLY! Change the shifter? Absolutely not, just cut it down 7/8 of an inch. Change the exhaust? Absolutely not. Why would you change out a titanium exhaust system! The shifting knob is just a narrow Hurst T shifter so, you wouldn't want to change that out. I'm often asked, "I'll bet you wish you had your 63 (split window)?" No, even though it had a tricked-out 327, mt10 trans, and a 410 rear end with the Hurst T shifter w/competiion plus, I would have my C5 Z06 any day of the week! Lowered the car, and give it that exotic look. I get compliments on it every day and it would have outrun my 63 any day of the week. My only complaint- I would eliminate the rev limiter ¿`_
@@ah4800 I found it's the perfect volume for inside the car and yet when somebody hears your car over 3000 RPMs from outside it's unbelievable. And, isn't that the point ¿`_

Looks cool. How strong is the extension?
I like to do some “spirited shifting” when I’m out for a ride
Surprisingly very strong. That was my initial hangup before doing this. But it's super stout.
@@VetOnVettes ok. How about the shifter? Is there a stud on top or is it
Tapped? I would possibly like to do the same thing
Wait C5’s had push start ???? Is that stock? My 2004 Z06 was a key there
How did you find the proper thread on that extension
Have it anodized or powder coated black, But it seems to me you lose the short throw aspect of it?? no??
You do lose some short throw (less than stock still) you still have the precision of the lower box and satisfying shift feel
Ever get any rattling noise? Mines getting bad from the MGW shifter. Brought it to a shop they can’t figure it out
I replaced my shift to mgw short shifter and for some reason sometimes going from neutral to first i hear like a rattle noise from under the car
whats up bro You in the 757? I swear I pass your vette on base in Norfolk
Yeah man. I'm a contract site lead over at VAW120

@user-ys9to2ie7k if you like quiet cars I guess. The corsa extremes sound 100x better though
