Either Matt or David asked the designers why they didn’t include an accurate pilot and they said that they didn’t want to have to make a new mold for the figure. :/

@@ten_vojta4356 problem with that version is that the doors interfere with the bubble turrets it’s annoying they can’t come up with a solid canon design

I've heard a lot of comments that legocon was bad because Lego misunderstood their audience. I think that you're actually misunderstanding LEGO's target audience for that type of event, and that would explain why they didn't reveal this at that event. Lego is a toy company. They make some insanely big sets for adults, but you're kidding yourself if you think that the majority of their brand is dedicated to adults. Legocon was just an exhibition aimed at kids. You weren't the target audience. So for them to reveal a massive UCS set at an event aimed for kids makes no sense, when they could instead reveal the newest playsets.

Probably a reason why they didnt
I've heard a lot of comments that legocon was bad because Lego misunderstood their audience. I think that you're actually misunderstanding LEGO's target audience for that type of event, and that would explain why they didn't reveal this at that event.
Lego is a toy company. They make some insanely big sets for adults, but you're kidding yourself if you think that the majority of their brand is dedicated to adults. Legocon was just an exhibition aimed at kids. You weren't the target audience. So for them to reveal a massive UCS set at an event aimed for kids makes no sense, when they could instead reveal the newest playsets.
yeah uh, can we move on
Build 10/10 minifigs 2/10
Yeah wanted to get it but the figs are disappointing so it's not worth it for me
It's an UCS not a battlepack so stop complaining about the minifigures cause they are not important in an UCS
@@diegoz135 nobody said something about battlepacks. There could've been better and more wanted figures like a Rex or a cody figure or any commander
@@josh.ngm197 what they could have done was just have a new obi wan and anakin with new prints and a new mold for anakins cut off arm, for after the duel. That would be cool, desirable, but people probably wouldn’t buy the set just for them
Honestly it was a missed opportunity to remake episode 2 Anakin with accurate colors. I don’t get why they gave him brown robes instead of black
The inside of the ship looks unfinished.
True. Especially the back ramp door thingy.

Solid brix studios: and here’s the review
LEGO: “they’re accessories more than minifigures we don’t like putting exclusive figs into UCS sets”
LEGO: UCS Venator Rex:
I’m blown away. This is so much better than I expected it to look. The angles and proportions are so good! Minifigs are EXTREMELY lacklustre. I understand they don’t want them to be too exclusive but only getting 2?? I think it should’ve had 2 regular p1 clones as well that would be enough for me.
Don’t know if I can actually afford this but I LOVE it.
3:41 statement made me happy made me smile, such determination from the Lego group. kudos to them!
I just want this to do really well in sales so that they make more prequel ucs ships.
I always loved watching and reading their replies when we email them it’s always good when they have a good sense of humor and talking Star Wars with the customers who are buying Lego sets from that category
Me, waiting patiently for months for a PICTURE of this thing

Looks beautiful tho.
I’m really liking that phase 1 commander. But I hope they make a play scale sized gunship sometime soon. The other play scale sets on Bricklink are just too expensive these days.

I think that could be commander Ponds because, from what I can remember, he's the only phase 1 clone commander shown in detail on screen. It could have been done with just a slight alteration of printing so that's a shame
Lego can still redeem themselves for the minifigures. Just throw P2 Cody and/or Jedi Bob in a smaller set.
I really hope they have a way to keep scalpers from running this launch. Specifically the lego stores, they should have the 1 per customer rule.
I actually think this looks really good! I'm not that disappointed that its not minifig scale because that doesn't mean we wont get a play scale one soon, the UCS and regular sets are different lines for different audiences.
5:10 that’s a good point that can’t be argued to hard since that’s literally the first reveal and first ever version of our beloved gunship

@@yuthpeppa3021 have you watched the newest episode? It’s great
Im pretty sure that was the logo of the republic during the clone wars. Some of the clones literally have it painted on their helmet. You can see it in the animated series
The republic and imperial logos are very similar, so it's easy to get them confused but that is the imperial logo on the box
It looks amazing, but I'm wondering, does the whole door close? or only the back part?
just the back part... wish they would've included doors that could be swapped with the pods, assuming that would be possible. Hopefully the next playset has full doors
@@slashinswingin4369 Good idea. I've just been reading up on the LAAT and can't find anything about those front doors and why they're only there on several occacions. They could use giant lights as well instead of the turrets as seen in the Umbara campaign.
@@dpswets I think the easiest explanation is the republic kept the LAAT platform but modified it very early in the war to be more modular so they could equip and remove equipment more easily to fit whatever mission so they didn’t have to make more specialized versions than they already had.
@@NCC1371 Good point, that's what I think as well. Seems the most logical.
@@dpswets the front doors that you see in the Clone Wars series is for when they launch the gunships from space. Those LAAT's are modified for space flight and the double doors allow for a pressure tight seal in the cargo bay
Great review I'm somebody who got the very first gunship for Christmas back in 2002 and that was the biggest that I ever got and I was so excited couldn't even put words together! I now have this first edition with the misprint UCS gunship and I am so excited to build it sometime soon. One minor note here though, you keep mentioning the "Imperial logo" but it's actually the "Galactic Empire" logo. Yes the Galactic Empire Era had Imperials in it but there is no logo called the Imperial logo. As a hardcore Star Wars fan figured I should point this out.

Because of some mini figures? You’re making this a big deal. It’s about the ship not the mini figures. That’s why it’s call a ucs set!
You’re reading way too far into this. Just because mandr told you to be upset with the figures doesn’t mean you or anyone else has to listen.
veeeeery biased this review
@@crislee4057 yes if LEGO sent me a free set months ahead of release....I am sure my review would be totally honest😈
Lego must understand that there is a high demand for accurate and sizable clone wars sets ! Now they need to focus more on the mini figures selection for sets because in 2010 we were getting 7 mini figures for 80$ sets so I hope that Lego see that there is demand !
David: puts the box on the table

When he mentioned the AT RTs dropping out the back, I realized this will be ripe for modifications allowing the 501st AT RTs from the battlepack which are probably a closer scale, to be stowed or posed with it

More than 10 probably
It’s not minifig scale. It’s much bigger. So if you are looking for a functional play set this isn’t the one for you. This is strictly a display set

I'm guessing Lego is going to have a 1 limit purchase on launch date. Did to the printing error.
I would not have been asking for different mini-figure, but for more mini-figure
Having all the pilots, gunners and a smal troop inside the ship would just complete the look in my opinion
I like the logo mistake, too. It makes the set more exciting, people will talk about for years.
I don't get it. It's the same logo on the gunships in AOTC.
Lego: we don’t wanna put desirable minifigs in an expensive set
A few Moments later: the UCS 600 dollar venator will include the highly desired captain rex
Looks amazing but man if they where even a little closer to minifig scale it would have made this set for me, quite disappointing to be honest
I think they made the right decision though, its a UCS, its not really designed for play, and the "minifig" scale gunships we got in the past are already a bit oversized
@@ForgedinLego yeah but I think that's what made the melenum falcon so unbelievably iconic. It was exactly to scale with every missed detail and all perfect, I think that's the appeal to me of UCS. No corners cut, not just big.
I dont like the fact that the cargo doors open in back and not in front to cover the cargo bay.
Also the lack of figurines to link it to the attack of the clones is a big minus point.

This is one UCS I have no intention of getting.
Honestly if we get a P2 Cody in a battle pack or something next year I think it will be a lot better than having it bound to a 350$ set or going single for 100$ because of the exclusiveness. The message that we need a Cody should have sticked and I think we might get him soon.
What's worse: a $100 P2 Cody or no Cody?
@@hawkskirata8939 What I'm saying is thats we might get a 8$ P2 Cody in half a year. And that would be better than a 100$ Cody now because then we wouldn't get another one anytime soon.
@@christopherstein2024 We should have had one since 2013 when TCW was aired. They had the best opportunity few months ago when they released another version of Grievous starfighter. I think we won't have one for a while.
@@hawkskirata8939 You mean 2005 when he was introduced in Star Wars clone wars and Revenge of the Sith came out. We never got the original design in 16 years.
I have hopes now because Grievous starfighter came out before the surveys with the USC set and all the communication between the designers and community icons like solidbricks and more.
The designers mentioned that they don't want to put very desirable minifigures into USC sets because it makes them too exclusive. So maybe they really recognized the feed back but are waiting for a better set to publish. Any way who really knows. It's LEGO.
Is it just me or is there a (very) significant scale difference between the cockpit and the cargo hold area? Like the size of a person that would fit in the cockpit would just be way too small to reach the roof in the cargo hold. A minifig actually looks more or less right in the cockpit wheres they would look completely lost in the cargo area. Like you would have to stack three of them on eachother's shoulders to reach the grips in the roof... same goes actually for the side turrets...
The republic logo makes it look smaller cuz we have always scene them in a 2x2
The production and quality of your videos are something else.
Wait so the rare excusive Boba Fett figure with arm and leg printing and a head only available in the UCS Slave 1 (Disney = AKA Boba Fett's Starship) is frowned upon?????
Yeah, Lego's logic...
We all know real star wars fans will NEVER stop calling it the slave 1. George Lucas called it the slave 1. It IS the slave 1
That set came out like 5 years ago. Their philosophy could’ve changed
I wouldn't consider it too big of flaw hence in the bad batch we do see the transition from rebupic to empire and they are still using the Republic gunship
