Can YOU BUILD one giant venator with interior that takes up 4 desks. That’s would be flat out beyond unbelievable. You’re the only person that CAN pull this off.

You should have pionted out all the major differences between the live-action and the clane wars version. It is actually a bunch of differences between the clone wars and live action variant. This model has all the clone wars details correct. The back side of the tower bridge has a simpler design. It has 3 angles on the front side of the tower bridge, not 4. The large red hanger opening is angled, not flat. It has 8 engines, not 10, and the top ones are plased a little different too. From a front side view, the tower is almost 90°, and the live action variant has much more angle running up to the bridge. There are also a lot of smaller differences, like where the republic logo is placed and the surrounding areas of the turrets. I myself think the live action variant has a more masculine look and has some better-looking angles overall.

Seeing the UCS next to the old playset really puts things into perspective on how big it is!
I have the venator 8039. Seeing these newer ones tempts me to modify or rebuild mine.
Since the UCS Venator came with a micro gunship, I think a nice touch to make the Venator live up to its role as a ship carrier is making a bunch of micro ships such as more gunships, arc-170s, y-wings, etc.

This set is absolutely gorgeous. Such a shame about the stickers and Rex mini figure. When a set is this expensive, there’s simply no excuse for those flaws. I really think there should be no stickers on any 18+ sets, especially when over the $200 price point.
I’ll definitely be attempting to replace the stickers with brick built details.
That’s how Lego works now. Incredible prices, low quality bricks, insane amount of stickers and more often a not really good-looking set. This is an exception in terms of design and quality. But as you said it, the stickers ruining it. And ofc the astronomal price tag, which is just rediculous.

@Spacejuno There isn’t really space for an interior because the majority of the interior is either too small to fit something inside of, used for structural integrity, or wouldn’t be accessible from the outside. So it’s understandable why they didn’t include one.

Wullf Yularen is actually the Clone Wars narrator. It's a pretty cool pick for an anniversary set.
But this isn't the anniversary of the 2008 THE Clone Wars. This is the 20th Anniversary of the 2003 Clone Wars.

This set is a dream come true.
We saw Rex in live action. We now have Yularen and Rex, and best of all an incredible display piece. This will be at the center of my collection shelves.

Having had mine for almost a year I am still excited whenever I see it on my shelf.
I think it’s a crime that the only Confederate vessel Lego has ever created, nevermind a UCS set, is the Malevolence.
Now we need a UCS AT-TE to make the Republic line of UCS sets feel more complete. with the Imperial side having the AT-AT it only makes sense we get a AT-TE in the future

have been saving money for a year to buy the ucs at-at but now the set changed. this is the greatest lego set ever.
I actually prefer stickers on 6x6 tiles because they cover up the tiles' matte finish, which would otherwise look out of place next to the other LEGO pieces.
I've always loved these UCS sets, but I never found a reason to justify spending that much money on something that would mostly only be good for display. But I think I might get this one! The Clone Wars (and Ahsoka, in particular) really was crucial to making me the person I am today. If it hadn't been for that, I don't think I would be in nearly as good a place mentally as I am now. And this set just looks so good that I think I can justify getting this one! Also, the fact that they put screenshots from an animated TV show on the box of an 18+ set shows just how highly regarded The Clone Wars is!
I'm thinking about integrating this set into a giant diorama of the final two scenes of Victory and Death!
I completely agree with the sticker part. I hate how they’re not glossy and have that massive mold mark in the middle, so stickers covering that is the best option imo

I Know prequel UCS sets are few and far between, but I am really hopeful that we can get a Trade Federation MTT in the near future. It’s Awsome the republic has gotten these two wonderful and well deserved sets, but man would I love some droid love on the UCS side.

Personally i'd love to see a Podracer of some kind (maybe not Anakin's, it's a little uninteresting compared to some of the others).

Love the passion David. I’m a huge Clone Wars fan myself and am so excited to get my hands on this awesome set. I do feel LEGO could have done more to include a miniature or possibly minifig scale interior in the rear of the Venator (which would be a cool video David for you to add one) and the three-piece Gunship could have been a more detailed miniature build, but besides the Captain Rex minifig (which has many issues), I am most disappointed that LEGO didn’t print the Republic logo. That said, very cool to get the 20th anniversary brick in the set… I’m glad that’s printed.
Cannot wait to have this thing on display in my house some day.
This is probably the only UCS set I’ve always wanted, and I will try to save as much as possible to own it !

He was in a polybag wearing his imperial uniform. Aside from that, this video was perfection, your joy for LEGO Star Wars is infectious!
No he is correct, this is the first ADMIRAL Yularen. The polybag is COLONEL Yularen

I have a UCS Venator! Took me about 3 days to put together, and needless to say I LOVE IT!!! Theres not a day that goes by that I dont just stare at her. Even got a lighting kit for the Venator and it just brought the vessel to life! To me, it was worth the price tag for arguably the best looking star destroyer in Star Wars.

The Lego designers themselves said that it's impossible for them to print on 6x6 tiles without the hole in the middle, like on the specifications card. They said if they could have printed if without that, they would've.

One thing that sold me on this guy was his ability to actually change his mind after the fact. So many just make up their mind once and then have that be the be-all-end-all to that forever.

Instead of a scene for the empty interior space, I would've loved to see "realistic" interior detailing, like the sub reactors and the different zoning spaces inside the ship

The Venator is pinacle of starship design not only in SW, TOP on my list IMHO. Sadly there is no way for me to afford this bad boy and no real space to properly display this beast of a set. I wish LEGO made the Executor 75356 scale model of this. Anyway Im happy for you all who can have and build it, just watching this brings me joy.

Plates in clips is illegal, tiles have always been legal. They are a different shape than plates and don't stress the clip.
Yeah the mold was changed recently to allow that since tiles don’t have as much depth as plates. Also, the dark red dye has been reformulated so the pieces shouldn’t be weak anymore!

If you do build other 2 Venators, you definitely need to customize the bridges so only one Venator has red ones. And make a cool video with all three of them. the red bridge one leading them obviously.

9:40 The clips were redesigned so that when you put lego in there it doesnt stress the plastic elements of the clip hence it no longer being illegal. (They used to be more narrow)

That's a really cool set that most people will never own either due to price or size but that would be awesome to have.
While I will eventually get this set, I think the biggest thing ruining my excitement is the price. Ideally, the price would be $500 to $550, that seems a little too good to be true, but even though it was 2002, it was also only $300 for the first Imperial Star Destroyer, 10030, and it was 3096 pieces, a number of them being some of those larger plates, and it remained that way for over 5 years before getting phased out. I also made sure to buy the UCS Landspeeder on day one back in 2022 because $200 for an 1890 piece set (half of which were a fairly uncommon color) was definitely worth it, and thankfully I did because the price jumped up $40. I would stomach $600, that feels like the proper compromise because I know that prices continue to rise, but that extra $50 is a bit of a downer. Also I'm going to have to find a way to fix that tile and clip situation on the bridges because even if it's been a thing for about 10 years now, such a connection is not acceptable. There is not a doubt in my mind that even though I never plan to take apart this ship, those clips will be warped forever, I don't care if the design of the clip is "meant to tolerate it" these days, I deny such claims. I'm sure there's a way to do it with 2x2 center brackets and some clear plates in between the tiles, there has got to be a better way than this. Still, I'm happy to see such a set has been made, and it will make a fine addition to my collection when I feel it's right to pick up. Right now, I'm looking for May 4th as the goal. October is when VIP tends to do something with double points and promos, I've still got a few sets I want, that will help boost my rewards and those can go towards the Venator, even though it will hamper the double points on Star Wars sets that will likely be happening at the same time, about $500 will still end up resulting in about a $40 reward, and that's not even including what other goodies will be available with a large purchase, too.
