This set is truly incredible! I am so glad they have gone ahead and made a non-film based UCS set, maybe we could see other UCS sets now being made from other Star Wars media such as Rebels and the Ghost, that would be awesome! Great review once again David 😊
This level of finish is what I expect for a Lego UCS set. Easily one of the nicest looking builds. I have to say though, that windscreen leaves quite a bit to be desired. For a $600 luxury display item, I think the value is actually mostly all there for once.
Been fortunate to be able to have started collecting since the original UCS Star Destroyer and Death Star sets. Being older, and having been around the LEGO "block" a time or so, there will always be sets that you regret not picking up at the time. For me, this will NOT be one of those, as I'm absolutely picking this one up at release because of all the UCS sets, this looks like it could be the best to date. Build quality and design is just insanely impressive, and the Mandolorian is simply one of the best things to come out of Disney's purchase of Lucasfilm. This set is just too awesome to miss out on. This Razor Crest model checks every box that UCS nit-pickers have been asking for for years: fun build experience, usable interior, more tiles than studs, less panel gaps, playability, cool details, exclusive minifigs. If you're one of those complainers, LEGO has taken out any reason to not get this except for the cost.... Unfortunately, LEGO has always been a premium toy, they make a high quality building toy that kids and adults alike want. It was expensive 40 years ago, and these 5000+ piece sets are expensive today. These sets are expensive because they have a lot of specialized pieces, and they wouldn't be impressive ULTIMATE COLLECTOR'S edition items if they were only 1,000 piece sets. Certainly sympathize with those who can't afford LEGO's move towards adult-oriented, very large sets, but it's a trend that LEGO only seems to be leaning into. With this set, there will be EIGHT (count 'em) sets priced at $499.99 USD and above, and at least twenty more at $299.99 and above. It won't be too long before there's a $999.99 set (my guess is a larger, improved Death Star), and I imagine in the next few years, LEGO will push up into the over $1000 price point. If Apple can sell phones all day long at this price point, there are also LEGO enthusiasts willing to go there too...
Yea, but to be fair Apple can charge those prices because they know people will buy their products even though technology all becomes obsolete. Lego on the other hand really doesn't. All those old UCS sets have gone up in value. Haven't seen any of them really going down in value.
@@christopherwilliams5808 I see what you're saying, but I think to justify a $1000+ set, LEGO only needs to justify it by having a sufficiently high piece count, all those pieces come together to make something that is $1000 impressive, and it's a single brick sculpture that LEGO buyers want and are willing to spend that much money. Things like exclusive or new molds or new combos of pieces and colors might broaden the appeal of that set (e.g. 10294 LEGO Titanic).
I'm super excited for this one. My boss is getting this for me as an early Christmas present. He's a cool boss. Got me the UCS Falcon too. He knows how to keep me around.
I really like the fact that there are not that many studs showing. The Republic Gunship comes close, but still has a significant number of studs showing, but imagine if the same concept was applied to the Star Destroyer or the AT-AT! I think having tiles of varying sizes on those would really give them the look of actual panels. Yes it would add cost to the kit, but i'd happily shell out for it.
Hey man, just want to say that I really appreciate your genuineness in your videos. Some Lego reviewers seem to put on a personality or a mask that is not their own. I never get that vibe from you. Thank you for your content.
It's such a weird retcon for bounty hunters to transport prisoners in carbonite, when the only reason they did that to Han Solo was because carbonite blocks were what Cloud City used to transport Tibanna gas. And even then there was a high probability Han wouldn't survive the freezing process in the first place, which would seem like a HUGE risk when your goal is to transport prisoners alive for a bounty.
What a pity we don't have a new mould for front canopy 😑 and Mythrol - why didn't he get a new mould head, the customes were much better. Good set, but not perfect
I’m honestly surprised no one’s talking about the minifigs (maybe I’m just alone), but only 3 1/2 minifigs in a minifig scale, full interior set feels super underwhelming. I wish it came with figures of several different characters that have stepped foot in there to recreate several different scenes, like imagine a frog lady for example! It’s honestly surprising how the set’s minifig selection is based solely on S1 but it has so many S2 easter eggs, even feels like they were going to put more minifigs in there but ended up cutting a bunch. I think I get what you mean. I kinda like it in that sort of "so ugly it's cute" kind of way. I think the front and top (bottom of the wings/nacelles and up) are actually good-looking, but the bulk of the body is just kinda... Plain. It does remind me of some canonical light freighters, cargo and personnel shuttles, ones that are often seen flying around cities, but those ones usually have all of their engines at the back. Most of the details on them are up around the top and then they just have a sort of big dangling belly.
@@Knight-Bishop Yeah that's true. In all honesty when I first saw it in the Mandalorian, I thought it was something that came out of Despicable Me. Has that oldly shaped, chrome finish.
Price is justified . The fact their listening to us and giving us a minfigure scale model which will look great next to the slave 1 and the falcon and also giving us a full interior is awesome . It’s justified . And more than 2 minfigures!!
Great set, and ordered it on the 1st! My only nitpick is the right hand engine doesn't have the chunk out of the nacelle nose cone missing like in the show. Probably would be an easy modification.
For me it looks too blocky, too textured, too grebled, a bit gappy and uneven. It definitely looks like a Lego set. Compare this to the LAAT or the AT-AT or the Falcon, they look like models, so lifelike. The interior is brilliant though. But honestly, I think Jerac’s is superior.
I have the jerac moc and I think it is closer to the real model. I admit that the lego ucs has surprised me with the interior and the lack of studs. But I think that the moc jerac is still the top, almost a scale model.
Agreed. I think the UCS model is pretty good for a Lego set. But i think without Jerac's model this would've been a way worse set. Looks like they took some "inspiration" from it. Lego's proportions are wrong. The whole front section just looks too boxy and bulky. They also messed up the shape of the back of the ship. They probably did that to fit in the interior and increase playability. I think the smaller canopy that Jerac used in his model is a little more accurate. Maybe not shape-wise, it's a little too round on top. But the overall front width and shape just looks way more accurate and streamline to me.
Man I bought the At At walker when it came out because of how beautiful it was and man this was pre ordered no doubt this set was so fun to make still figuring out my custom light kit like I did with the walker then I’ll definitely show a vid of it.
Not worth it, lego again couldn't be bothered to make a specialised windscreen...ucs landspeeder yes, a-wing yes, delorean yes etc.... $600 razor crest gets a ill-fitted brick in there. Please.
thx for the size comparisons..I'm even more happy that this is such a hard pass for 600 EUR. Its even smaller than the Gunship and costs almost twice as much.
Really good review, the details that Lego have put into the lower and upper decks is excellent, helps a bit to accept the price tag. I have the smaller play set waiting to build and will probably sign on to Disney+ to see the Mandalorian series first before starting both kits. Cheers
I usually divide my lego pieces from each bag into groups of color and size, and organize my building space accordingly. while the move ot paper bags is to applaud, I will miss being able to prepare things like I am used to, as you wont be able to see whats inside each bag before hand
This is one of the first sets in a long time with a price that seems accurate to what you're getting. Definitely expected this to be another 800+, glad lego didn't do that, and excited to pick it up!
This is _so_ we’ll designed! I’m particularly impressed with the many angles and joins. I’d love to build this to check out how those are done, not to mention how it’s sturdy enough while still being largely hollow. But the build experience alone isn’t worth $600 to me, and I’m just not into the ship or the show. 🤷♀️ I think it’s probably for the best that I don’t “need” a Razorcrest, so I don’t have to talk myself out of this. I already don’t have room to display my Landspeeder or Tantive IV, and therefore haven’t built them yet. Unless it turns out to be a really great parts pack-that plus the build experience could put me over the top. But probably not until next year-already have the loop coaster and maybe Lion Knight’s Castle on my list, which is probably all the big sets I have budget for this year.
Ordered this for my daughter for Xmas gift, she has all the others, I look at it as an investment for her, down the line she can sell it all on and recoup atleast 70% of what I spend on it. Like money in the bank for her. Plus she gets the enjoyment of building all the big sets.
0:17 - For the most part, I've never felt like vast majority of random people's MOCs have looked better on average than official Lego sets. In actuality, when someone says about a Lego set, "it looks like a MOC", or I, myself, feel like a certain MOC or official set look too much like a full-fledged MOC, it is in my eyes a mildly derogatory statement. P.S. - Hence nearly all the re-worked and finalized Ideas sets look much better than the original fan creations. P.P.S. - I like and do collect 'Creator Expert' sets, among others, but I personally believe that Lego sets should never look too much like the real thing, if you can comprehend where I am coming from. If you want something hyper-realistic, then there exist model kits for you.
Based on Bandai's product. Don't think silver finish on plastic is "that" expensive. Instead Lego profit margin may way way more than other companies (except the royalty for getting license to use IP) so that they probably won't add it to their product and then hard to price it correctly. Get ya money up
Wtf do you want them to do? Hand it out for free?
@@radiant3921 he’s not asking them to hand it out for free, $600 dollars is a lot of money that some people may not be able to spend on a set.
@@TheBabyCalebpoint being?
@@TheBabyCalebthen they cant buy it. ✨
The Playscale Razorcrest was so fun building for me this looks amazing!!!
Bruh it’s so good
The only Lego kit that comes fully assembled!

Price is justified . The fact their listening to us and giving us a minfigure scale model which will look great next to the slave 1 and the falcon and also giving us a full interior is awesome . It’s justified . And more than 2 minfigures!!
600 and still stickers.. not really justified
@@TheBuilder1001 forgot the 6000 pieces
@@slaya8065 forgot the visible, very unnecessary and ugly colors

Great set, and ordered it on the 1st! My only nitpick is the right hand engine doesn't have the chunk out of the nacelle nose cone missing like in the show. Probably would be an easy modification.
looks great but still way too overpriced, as always

Got this for Christmas today, absolutely phenomenal
I just find it ridiculous that legos can cost $700
we need a Slave 1 at this scale with rotating interior

For me it looks too blocky, too textured, too grebled, a bit gappy and uneven. It definitely looks like a Lego set. Compare this to the LAAT or the AT-AT or the Falcon, they look like models, so lifelike. The interior is brilliant though. But honestly, I think Jerac’s is superior.
Agreed, I will pass on this because I still plan on building Jerac's MOC.
Please.
I'm still just blown away how big the Gunship is!
How can you be honest about this when you got it for FREE. and post to have PAID PROMOTION at the beginning of your show
thx for the size comparisons..I'm even more happy that this is such a hard pass for 600 EUR. Its even smaller than the Gunship and costs almost twice as much.
people like you encourage me to keep loving lego thank you brother love you god bless you
Really good review, the details that Lego have put into the lower and upper decks is excellent, helps a bit to accept the price tag. I have the smaller play set waiting to build and will probably sign on to Disney+ to see the Mandalorian series first before starting both kits. Cheers
Thank god they finally started to print the helmet. Alway thought it looked like crap. Looks good now!
Amazing set! Amazing video! Btw, I love your room, where you edit. What a view! So nice!
I've wanted this set for so long and now that it's retirement is announced I don't think I'll be able to get this which is heartbreaking
Your office is awesome, I love the greenery
I usually divide my lego pieces from each bag into groups of color and size, and organize my building space accordingly. while the move ot paper bags is to applaud, I will miss being able to prepare things like I am used to, as you wont be able to see whats inside each bag before hand

1:10 that room is majestic
This set the bar very high for future UCS Lego Star Wars sets
I love the fact that it's so close to minifigure scale
The day Lego makes studless wedged plates is the same day all MOC collectively lose their minds.
You should compare this Razor Crest UCS set to the custom mini figure scale Ghost ship
This is one of the first sets in a long time with a price that seems accurate to what you're getting. Definitely expected this to be another 800+, glad lego didn't do that, and excited to pick it up!
I hope this opens the way for a UCS Ghost. One can hope..
This is not the only UCS set to not be from a movie. There is a UCS droit Lego set of BD-1 from the Jedi Fallen Order video game.

Dope set, I'm too broke for it but I have the $130 razor crest, both beautiful sets. I also like your office setup, very nice. Keep up the good work
Litturatly just finished watching the speed build
I think it’s funny that he put the mando hair on the blue guy, it’s been a while since the first episodes don’t get mad at me for forgetting his name
Ordered this for my daughter for Xmas gift, she has all the others, I look at it as an investment for her, down the line she can sell it all on and recoup atleast 70% of what I spend on it. Like money in the bank for her. Plus she gets the enjoyment of building all the big sets.

I've just bought one myself using the 120€ voucher and, although I won't be able to build it till June, I can't wait to get my hands on it!
This has gotta be the third or second best Lego set ever behind the ucs at at and/or the ucs falcon

Yes!! There is FINALLY Mr. “ I have spoken”
Thanks for the review! I think this is an amazing set and I need this. I have wanted this set from the day I saw the Razor Crest
Based on Bandai's product. Don't think silver finish on plastic is "that" expensive. Instead Lego profit margin may way way more than other companies (except the royalty for getting license to use IP) so that they probably won't add it to their product and then hard to price it correctly. (Just recently pissed with the printing of the Lego BTW, WTF for mis-aligned bow target piece, how hard to print concentric circle or QC the bad product in my LION KINGHTS' CASTLE, or the 50 speed limit icon that have 5degree tilt in my "cheap" City product)
