DRI had the idea of a political revolution, through music and verse. That message needs to be broadcasted again. We need to hear that anger, and that frustration. And then we need to unite, move forward, and make a better society.
Society doesn't get it. Gen X spent their whole lives telling people to question authority and not believe everything you see and hear. Apparently everyone, including us, forgot or ignored that message and are just another cog in the machine. The sheep run things and will cannibalize their own to protect the status quo.
Listening to this bringing me back. I wore the Dealing with it Album out. I actually donated it to a the university in my town that had or has a course on Punk/ Hard core / Metal. Hopefully blowing somebody mind for the first time like it did me decades ago.
Reaganomics is played at nearly 260 BPM and as I can see, Eric/Felix (sorry, I can't really see) didn't cheat with the hi-hat!!! I can see why Dave Lombardo likes D.R.I. so much!
Just met and saw D.R.I. in May ... at Full Circle Brewery in Fresno ca ... the whole D.R.I. show was good ... thanks Guys for coming to the valley ... fuk ya !!!
they had a new ep last time they came thru buffalo. i brought my painters cap (i ever wore) and got them to sogn it. i brought party favors and these guys sound just as great as the 86-87 shows...the new stuff was more on the punk (they alwayshad metal riffs but like dayglo abortions...it was punk. i love the early slow version of snap, texas edge...these guys were cool, i did the madman from te crowd and got some laughs, but yeah...one of those albums that i know word for word (angry samoans unboxed era, dicks)...i was impressed that they had it and had new music...i was given an updated cap, come back to buffalo...the place was packed with hardly any promo. i will be the mad man "hooooold on" sounds like a high school pals father, his parents still known as madpeople. i come home to relax, im home, been home for 4 hours!
I went to a show in Vitoria-Gazteiz, some days ago, and It was fantastic... What a sound... Great, they deserve their fame... Thanks for sharing this...
I became a Social Studies teacher because bands like this woke my ass up. I listen to bands like this during my planning period and my principal and other teachers think I'm nuts. I'm a handful in teachers meetings. They are always ready for me to say fuck you to the bureaucratic nonsense. One of my students found a video of me at a Naked Raygun show in 1985. Thanks guys.
They made Bands like Black Flag et. sounding like boring old farts at that time. Great Intensity! Didn't liked their turn to Crossover, although i was into Metal more than Punk. But this style is the real deal!
Come back to Sacramento!! Bring Harald with you this time. Saw him taking pictures at the Slayer show in Sacramento, but couldn't make it to his own damn gig a week later or so. DRI FOREVER TEAR IT DOWN! 🤘
Damn you dudes look so young haha wow , well I'm 55 so I'm old too , from Cleveland Ohio currently watching in Rio Brazil , any chance of getting back to Cleveland Ohio in the future?
Spike Cassidy u remember at the old mason jar in Phoenix Az. Then the after party at a place called time outta mind....Fucken drank till the sun started rising ....that is the best DRI moment in my life all my punk buddies at the high school the next day wanted to buy my shoes separately cuz I had all of you guys sign them equally......lol.my sister just happened to come across John menouza a few months ago on facebook. It was soo freaking awesome if u see Kurt tell him I still have my book "words from the nest" any way keep on thrashing you guys are the Fucken best ...
I was there. That same night, I tried a 180 backside boneless down the stairs at Astor Place. I broke my arm. It was worth it, because later that same night, I got laid.

Fuck!!! Still makes my adrenaline surge! One of my favorite bands of all time.
Me too
The sickest footage of them! Blazing fast as hell! Light years before most fast core and grind!
1:32 Best performance of Reaganomics hands down
Crazy how fast and explosive this band was back in 83, 84.
hey bro they still r 😎
@@christopherhoffman8118 yes but I guess he meant back then there weren't many bands that played that fast, if any.
85, Dealing with it tour.
Those shows were violent insanity

Right the fuck on
society is the problem

Rest in Power Josh ! DRI changed HC e Crossover music.
Fantastic! Oddly, i know all the words to these songs! 🤘🏼
mind blown. 1984, raised awareness. filming, cbgbs, '84, wowie. them and cryptic slaughter then. then later Reagan Youth
First song is the best and hold today “ I don’t need Society” or Facebook

Pretty tame crowd for a DRI show though.
this was when they were very first starting too so not a lot of people probably knew about them at this time
