As a surname it's relatively uncommon even to a swede. I think I was at least 31 before I heard of Simone and first time seeing that name. It's german and there are only 200+ people in all of Sweden with that name. No Nilsson or Andersson in other words.

When I first ran across Simone I was blown away by her skills and just absolutely bonkers over her personality. Funny thing, it's that FIRE that burns in us all and some of us just let it all out when triggered accordingly. Incredible, I'm getting my Every Day Calendar this year and I'm just absolutely stoked that I'll have one of Simone's creations on my wall. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your positive energy is amazing. One of the things that has stuck with me was how you explained how you put a drop of honey on your finger to revive a bee. The caring shows your respect for even the smallest thing. I just spent an hour testing and sorting old batteries. Having watched you organise your tools showed me how to reframe this normaly mundane chore into something regenererative.
"Oooh, it made it into the garbage can! When does that ever happen? Almost never." -Adam Savage Can't say I got up this morning expecting to hear that.
I've been a big fan of Simone for a while now, and I've wanted one of those since her first video on it. It is such an amazing concept, and something that would drive me crazy if I was about to miss a day. Hopefully I'm able to afford one in the near future, because this is something uniquely amazing, and I would love to hang it on my wall.
I don't need to meditate. I just listen to Adam once a day for my mindfulness. It's strange how soothing and out-of-the-everyday-gloom he is while talking about his work and sharing thoughts about big and small.
Simone did an amazing design motif with that. Thoughtful and stylish. Yet, the weird and new satisfaction of peeling the protective film from the panel was the most unique experience I've had on the internet in a while. Yup, on Christmas day children may play with the boxes the gifts came in, more than the gifts themselves.
Working my way through Adam's back catalogue and found this, which I would totally buy just as a piece of art... if it included my birthday. Here's hoping this does well enough that she can make a second edition with Feb 29 on it!
This really is a beautiful object. I have been using a dry-erase board to check off my daily habits for the past 4 months or so. It's a cheaper, more scalable but ultimately less beautiful and emotionally satisfying method of habit tracking. I'll say this: giving yourself credit for small but consistent improvements is incredibly powerful. If you are OK with the price, this looks like an amazing way to get started.
I'm guilty of that, let me explain a bit: 1. I'm lazy, that should be enough already. 2. I want my things to stay protected. The protective film does that. 3. Removing it is even more satisfying once the film is all marred. It's like getting it brand new all over again. 4. There's a risk I might damage something when removing the film. Sometimes it's unclear if a layer is supposed to come off or not. 4. I'm lazy. I didn't even renumber this point when I added one above it. I should say though, if the film gets in the way I will remove it. I'm not _that_ crazy.
That template built into the intro poster is a simple piece of genius. I can't tell you how many shelves and power outlets I have struggled to align the screws on; that in it of itself is a testament to how much thought was put into this elegant and seemingly simple project.

Great product, I watch Simone reveal her first batch (earlier in the year). As you say it great when you experience a product a friend has produced and identifying all the choices they made. Every product is designed, many many choices are made for the design, function and cost/BOM - great exposure for the product and well deserved!
Me too And I'm not even talking about the shipping and fees needed to get it in my country (I'm argentinian so it's 30% of the total cost for doing any transaction to anyone outside the country)
It's expensive because it just a pointless thing with a lousy design. Occupies a imense amount of space with any practical purpose and any visual impact. Totally a product of a materialist society.
@@carlosgameiro1399 Practical purpose is to record something you've planned to do. If you are looking for a spanner amongst the screwdrivers and hammers you will consider everything you see to be of a lousy design because nothing there will be a spanner. Visual impact is subjective, much the same as art of any kind. I've never heard of the creator (that's on me, not them) but I imagine that they poured hours, days, weeks, months, maybe even years into every aspect of this design. They may consider it a thing of beauty and purpose. Those who buy it will do so because they will feel the same. We earn money and spend money. Some may buy a piece of paper, a ruler and a pencil and draw out a set of blocks, 12 by 31, stick it to the wall with blu tack or a drawing pin, right next to their favourite print of the Grand Canyon. Others might buy this. I think you will find that almost everything you can and do buy is born of a materialistic society. Whether that be a tool, a calendar, a can of soda or a plastic bucket.
Adam, I love, LOVE your energy and passion for stuff like this. I swear, its almost like you and I were thinking exactly the same thing at the exact same time during this whole video. From the slow peeling of the film to the close up shots and whispers. Splendid! Side note, LOVE the included full size mounting template. Take note wall hanging item manufacturer people.
also, by the time it' s problematic, it' s going to be 2024, and this object won't be in service anymore. Just like my F91W doesn't track years. Sometimes it displays 1st of March on the 29th of Feb. And by sometimes, I mean 1 every 4 years.. No big deal. It takes 20 seconds to correct.

I got mine last week too! I wanted to jump up and catch the little baggie when he threw it and say, "WAIT, THERE'S A REALLY COOL SOUVENIR PIN IN THERE!!!!" I hope he didn't really throw it away! I guess he can ask Simone for a replacement pin?
@@bigduginc I was thinking now that she's sort of out the other side of it we might get more.
Adam talks about how great Simone is
*the world liked that*
Absolutely love seeing this! The progress from Simone’s first video on it til now is super wholesome to watch
My favorite part of this video is the calendar. My second favorite part of this video is the extension cord Adam pulls down from above....I need that.
If you put one in your shop, you will put two in. They are so handy, it's quite unbelievable. I have two in my shop and two in the garage. Indispensable.

I find myself here with my insomnia many nights. So many things on youtube pain my heart to watch but Adam always makes it a little brighter and leaves my mind a touch clearer.
Me: The Peel! Do the Peel!
Adam: Oh man, you wanna see this don't you? I gotta make it satisfying.
Me: HE'S A WITCH!
He said "Gotta make it on /r/oddlysatisfying"
I love Simone!!!! She is sooooooo sweet and incredibly intelligent! She absolutely does not deserve the health issues that have been thrust upon her!!! I wish her all the best in the future!!!
Those who like to press all the elevator buttons should get one of these so I can arrive at my floor earlier thanks.
ask the management of your building to have nuisance mode turned on.
But it is so damn fun to press buttons in alternating order so the elevator goes to the top, then down and then to the top again ^_^
Like watching how stupid it is that it wastes time by going in the same order you pressed the buttons, not in the most logical order
When I was a kid I forced the doors open on an elevator a foot shy of its destination, was only a 2 floor elevator at the Macys/Bon Marche' at Northgate Seattle but a dick move because it was out of service for a while.
Lol
Thu would be for practice
I think this is the biggest smile ever recorded on Tested.
Adam's high beams are on, so you know he's really excited.
I am amazed at how supportive and proud Adam is at what Simone has done, so inspiring!
Adam filming a review by himself is like a teenager giving his first girlfriend a tour of his house lol, he’s just so excited to show the audience what he thinks they want to see
It's really gratifying to see a "simple TH-camr" grow from - at least what appeared to be - joke products for the fun of it it, to making a brand for herself based on those joke products, to becoming a for-realsies engineer, to becoming a full-fledged business woman making high quality, polished products like this. I know her path was not an easy one, and seeing you this excited about something she made makes my cold black heart warm.
I love how invested Adam is in Simone, its like the fatherly relationship I never had XD 😭
This is the most wholesome video I've watched this week! I love how whole-heartedly happy Adam is that Simone made this project come to life.
Love you and love Simone! Laughed at resetting 2020 in 45 seconds

I concentrated when Adam said it at the end, I always remember everyone saying "gertz"
As a surname it's relatively uncommon even to a swede. I think I was at least 31 before I heard of Simone and first time seeing that name. It's german and there are only 200+ people in all of Sweden with that name. No Nilsson or Andersson in other words.

I love Simone and everything she does! Thank for another amazing video Adam the Calendar looks beautiful so happy for her.
Okay, 3:10 and once again Simone is just the sweetest person ever. Just the random bits of thought that went into that "instruction" page are wonderful. I'm going to need to get one of these for myself for sure as I really should get into the habit of meditation or whatever similar thing for my mental health.
Man I so love Adam's sincere love and enthusiasm for both a product he likes, and a creation of his friend. He is basically everyones favorite uncle.
watching this video, it's been the first time i've laughed so purely in months. your joy and excitement is contagious. thank you so much for sharing it. i'm in melbourne and i've been in lockdown since february (high risk). this video reminded me of the small happinesses that strangers can bring. god i miss people
that peeling sound! imagine it is starting to rain on a zinc roof, thats the sound, beautiful!
Adam I was so stoked to see this! Not in the least bit surprised you and Simone are pals! I get equally excited over things such as this, an amazing meal I managed to create, a craft/project completed, sight of a friend having achieved things such as this! Kindred spirits indeed.

The fact that there it's missing a February 29th is driving me insane.
Me too! What do you do in bisect years?
Your positive energy is amazing. One of the things that has stuck with me was how you explained how you put a drop of honey on your finger to revive a bee. The caring shows your respect for even the smallest thing. I just spent an hour testing and sorting old batteries. Having watched you organise your tools showed me how to reframe this normaly mundane chore into something regenererative.
"Oooh, it made it into the garbage can! When does that ever happen? Almost never."
-Adam Savage
Can't say I got up this morning expecting to hear that.
"Let's light it up" used to have such a different meaning in Savage's past life. Love the adoration in this video!
Definitely not "crappy", the attention to detail is excellent, good work Simone.
It makes me so happy to see how excited he is about the whole thing. I love it.
Love the proud Dad vibe.
4:35 this is the longest "satisfying foil removing" i've ever seen! (with Sound!)
She's a sweetheart. Super funny, and a very smart lady. I've been enjoying her channel, glad to see you give her a shout out!
That is so satisfying to see the protective film come off... i have no idea how people can leave it on forever
I'm guilty of that, let me explain a bit:
@@eDoc2020 I agree with 2, 3 and 4 :)
That template built into the intro poster is a simple piece of genius. I can't tell you how many shelves and power outlets I have struggled to align the screws on; that in it of itself is a testament to how much thought was put into this elegant and seemingly simple project.
Oh I did not know something like this exists, I thought about building something similar myself.
This Calendar looks absolutely gorgeous.
Looks satisfying just getting those lights on. Simone has done an amazing job on this product.
DO you really want to go through the last 8 months again? And the snark with "American Power" ... Priceless ...
Yeah, but he lives in California, where they turn off the power...because reasons.
Crypto Curious what reasons would those be? Do elaborate if you’re not just blindly gesturing.
@@Gormfork its a reference to the pacific gas & electric company which has been shutting off power to swathes of its customers with little warning and no alternatives which puts lives at risk and can damage people's stuff. their excuses are lame and clearly profit motivated. its a joke of an american power company which is what crypto is getting at

366-day years: Am I a joke to you

Taking a sec to appreciate how Adam appreciates the PACKAGING; a true corrugated cardboard connoisseur indeed! 😁 And big props to @SimoneGiertz too! Thank you both 😊
Good video Adam! I was wondering what happened to the everyday calendar!
Great product, I watch Simone reveal her first batch (earlier in the year). As you say it great when you experience a product a friend has produced and identifying all the choices they made. Every product is designed, many many choices are made for the design, function and cost/BOM - great exposure for the product and well deserved!
Awesome piece. Plus "American Power" 🤣♥️
This is so wholesome, just one creator being hyped for another
I can't believe you don't have a box for storing old pieces of protective film.
I received mine a week ago and I love it. It is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.
I don't even need to look up the price... just by the quality of this I can tell that this if far too expensive for me, I'm one poor bastard.
You and me both.
Me too
And I'm not even talking about the shipping and fees needed to get it in my country (I'm argentinian so it's 30% of the total cost for doing any transaction to anyone outside the country)
It's expensive because it just a pointless thing with a lousy design. Occupies a imense amount of space with any practical purpose and any visual impact. Totally a product of a materialist society.
@@carlosgameiro1399 Berating a product for mediation for being materalistic. Oh, the irony!
Dropping the protective film in the trash was even more satisfying than the peel! Adam got it in there so neatly and it made such a nice little noise.
"we need a command to clear the board"
"i got it! lets make em hold a button for 10 seconds"
"nah that way to short, let make it 45!"
Adam's enthusiasm is so contagious and makes me smile!
That joke on “American Power” hahaha LOVE IT 😂
