I'm pretty sure the long straps on Cammys jacket is meant to be kind of replacement for her iconic long braids. They wanted to keep the same silhouette but still have the new short hair.
And I LOVE it for that, given how much I love the look her short hair. Also gives a bit of slight improper but stylish energy. Like leaving some dropping suspenders, or unbuttoning the shirt a bit.

I think Marisa has pants interested of a skirt on the wedding outfit for the sole fact that a full dress would break the fight animation. So more of necessity, you'll never really see a SF character with anything lower than a knee-cut skirt, at least as long as that character is doing lots of kicks which everyone except the boxers are doing

Manon is a damn goddess and my favorite Street Fighter character since like, Alpha era. I don't give a damn what tier lists say, she's top tier in the right hands. Been playing her since launch and people just don't know how to fight against her a lot of the time.

I like Ryu's third costume a lot because it's something casual that he would actually wear, the ripped pants for max mobility, samdals to tie the fit to his default costume, bandana to keep the sweat off his eyes, but the best detail is that he's wearing the jacket that Chun-Li bought to him so that he doesn't get into trouble in airports because he goes looking like a hobo. It's a fit that just makes sense for the character and that's why I think SF6 so far has the best alternate costumes.

We all know the designs are bad. It's so much more fun to hear about designs that are good and what makes them work. Constantly dogging on Concord also has the adverse effect of attracting the wrong audience.

He has no kicks in his move-set at all, he's a boxer who wants to only punch and anybody looking at Ed for the first time will know "oh yeah this guy wants to punch". Same thing with Juri, her top is very light while her lowerbody is heavy so anybody looking at her for the first time knows "this lady kicks". It highlights what their threat is
You should show her some Dead by Daylight skins. She might have a full on rage rant at some of those outfits and they usually have a little lore blurb for context.
Please do the costumes of street fighter 5! As there are over 200, You could do a character per episode, with your favorite given a gold ribbon at the end of each episode. The final episode could be giving the platinum trophy for best dressed of SF5.
The thing you guys were talking about on Rashid that you didn't like wasn't a sweater, it was the top half of his gi. He essentially had his gi on and wrapped with his belt, then they took his arms out of the gi and let the arms fall down, that's why the arms are floppy, and the "apron" is the bottom part of the gi under the belt.
Glad im not the only one who's not a fan of Cammy's new outfit. Every classic character's new design looks so much like its a natural evolution of their classic look and Cammy just looks like an entirely different character/basic Instagram model

This let you get them tailored if you could afford it, but everyone else shortened their sleeves with garters. While you don't see it very often today, sleeve garters on a fictional character signify someone intentionally going for a working-class look, usually a populist villain. In this case, I'd guess it's a nod to Zangief's Communist roots.
I'm nowhere near fashionista as her but the use of bright non-neutral colors in all of the alternate palettes is very hit or miss. I think I understand why they were chosen in terms of game design, but it bothers me too when the colors are very clearly clashing. The accents don't stick out as much to me but she was hyperfocusing on them a lot, cus those matter a lot more in aesthetics than in gameplay which is what I'm often thinking of whenever these great big critiques come out. IMO 3rd Strike has some of the best alternate colors in all of SF, something about them is like magic how much some of them get my neurons going. If SF6 used those as inpsirations it'd be such an improvement that I'd have tough time deciding which palette I'd want to use most for a character (although TBF, we're not getting a single SF3 character until almost 2 years after launch). Jamie, being inspired by the twins, is one of the closest we have to that outside of the SF2 mainstays Ryu, Ken, Chun, and Akuma, he's my secondary and has some of the best color palettes, I wish the rest of the characters had ones as good.
I feel like when you say people didn't like Cammy's new outfit you're talking about a very small vocal audience of no lifers. its incredibly popular with people who go outside
it doesn't rustle my jimmies as a no lifer, I didn't know it was a movie/anime reference but that helps explain why it looks the way it does. I do see it used quite often which is surprising when compared to the other two outfits, so I guess people do like it (but they did make Cammy top tier and not just for gooners)

It also matches Gouken’s robe! Ryu has evolved past being a student after 5. He’s his own master now, and he’s found peace
For the Cammy jacket, those straps are definitely there to keep her silhouette the same. Them flowing looks very similar to the braids.
Yeah, it also reminds me a little of a cat's tail when she crouches (a cute detail) but keeping the silhouette is definitely the reason haha
