I saw your video in 2016. Pregnant with my 4th child & with no job, high school drop out. When I saw this video something in side of me told me to fight. To fight for my life, my children lives as well. I self studied my whole 9months & August 2016. I pass my GED, applied for LPN school & got in. 2018, I'm now An LPN GRADUATE 🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏NOTHING BUT THE GRACE OF GOD. But I just want to Thank You soooooo much for your videos. YOU WAS MY ENCOURAGEMENT & SENT ANGEL FROM GOD. Thank you for sharing your life, because your videos has changed lives. 😇Take care. I hope & pray you see my message.

I literally read your comment to my husband and started crying tears of joy for you. OMG - sis. Look at you! You did it!!!!
There are no words right now. All I keep thinking is "Gods Plan. Gods Plan."
I remember the day I decided to record this video - I cried. These moments were so dark. So personal. But I felt in my spirit that I needed to share my experience with the world - because I knew I could help people who felt like I did. I knew I could help people who were experiencing what I had experienced. I could be proof that where you start has absolutely nothing to do with where you end up.
Thank you for posting this. My heart is bursting with joy and happiness. This comment is motivation for me to share more. Create more. Inspire more. May God continue to bless your life and the lives of your children.
      Congrats!!!!!
      With love and admiration,
      Lada

Yes! I am a single mother of five *( had 2 sets of twins) and all i knew was toxicity. I was homeless for many years and worked in fast food and food service for over 15 years working hard labor and minimal wage jobs. I'll never forget that time. Now I'm a homeowner and a RN. I was able to take my kids to the fair which was something I had always dreamed of because I had always had only enough to get the necessity items, never enough to do anything extra or fun. GOD WILL MAKE A WAY. I promise He sees our struggles here and it was HIM that gave me the strength to make it through nursing school and those rough years, and still keeping me now. Its soo hard. I cant lie about that.. but its doable. I had given up on life.. I gave my life totally to Him by faith and was like "if I die in this process, at least I died trying ". And God did it. God did it. God did it.

Im am a 23 yr old mom of 1&2 yr old boys. I am a CNA, in nursing school working towards my Rn. I have completed, all prerequsites, and now I need to test into clinicals. I took the test once, and scored under average (you only get two chances in two years, I don't have two years to sit out) so I have kind of scared myself, I'm scared I will fail it again, because that's how my lucks always been to. There is a prep class this summer, BT it's $200 dollars out of pocket, so Im working like heck to pay for it. wish me luck🎓

Oh wow! Very impressive! I'm 39 and have 7 yr old twins. I was really considering going into the nursing program. But started thinking my time has passed to go back to school. But I'm so not happy in the space that I'm in right now. being an RN had always been my dream going back to middle school. I'm going to do it! I really need to get my CNA or something to make more money while going to school. I don't have a support system and that's what really scares me.I''m scared of failure.

Its never too late to go back to school. I am 26 and going back to school next year. I have an almost 1 year old daughter. I am not happy being a SAHM and spent the last year taking online pre-reqs so I would qualify for accelerated nursing. I studied really hard for good grades and just got accepted for accelerated nursing. I'll be 29/30 by the time I finish and it's delayed us from having another child. My husband is my support system.

Latecia Milliner Don't let fear rob you of your purpose. I worked as a CNA at night while taking my prereqs for Dental Hygiene (yes, 2 different fields but I was able to get a flexible job as a CNA while going to school) in the day. Lots of trials and tribulations along the way but through mentorship, faith, hard work, and Grace, I was accepted to a Hygiene program. After that did degree completion program to get my BS in Dental Hygiene. Kept pushing, worked in the day, was finally making Hygiene money and started working on prereqs for Dental School. Recently applied and got accepted to Dental School for the DDS...41 years old. Delay Does Not Mean Denial! This video is a great testament to that fact.

Inspirational...same story....cna...lpn..to RN (associates). BSN, new NP!!....Teen mother also...I spoke to my son's father recently and he said..I wasn't sure if you were going to make it...I was like...really because I always new I was going to be ok in a big way...I had struggles, I had challenges, but I always knew...I was going to be more than ok...But I didnt have that I hate my life until I was 30ish and then it was on (its never too late, but it gets harder the later you wait!) Purchased my house soon after I became a LPN.
next step...PHD for academia and research and entrepreneurial endeavors. Funny you mention excelsior, I was thinking about applying for a clinical examiner position with them as I did my MSN education online at the same time as my NP. Best to you!!

This brought on the waterworks for me. I can relate, not as a teen mom but a single one. I got pregnant my sophomore year in college, got a worthless degree and started working for the government. Now I've done a 360 and have one semester of nursing school left (ASN program). I also plan to go back for my bachelor's and FNP. I've lost a lot of friends and relationships along the way but, I'm not stopping. Thanks for being an inspiration!

Thanks you're inspiring me. I became a mom at 19 then I had 4 kids. I never had a great job. I was suppose to apply for nursing school and didn't due to my grandma and dad passing away. Then I had to move to my moms house to make sure she was taken care of. So instead I got a BA in Psych. Which now it's really hard to get a job and the pay sucks. I completed my nursing prerequisites and got accepted to nursing school. I'm so happy I'm 30 now and I hope my dream can finally come true.

Hey Dr. Lada! So I'm in tears at the moment because I watched this exact video about 4 years ago, sitting in the car of my now ex that was abusive and that I had two kids with. I had no education, no job, no car, no family willing to help, not a penny in my own pocket, not even a phone. I always had this dream of doing better than where I was at that moment. A dream and hunger for me to be better for my kids and have better for them. Im sitting here in my living room, with my kids asleep and my husband that I just got married to in November of 2020 and on my winter break from medical assistant school until January 11th. I have my GED, CNA training, currently in college, full custody of my children, my own apartment, a new car, savings in the bank, restored relationships with family, and so much more! Today I'm watching this video with only one more month until I graduate as an M.A. and im going on externship next month, im currently an office manager for a Chiropractic office and im a married woman to an amazing Christian man, and my kids never have to worry about a thing because they are fully provided for. God has truly blessed my kids and I. I want to thank you for this video because this video put a hope in my heart and made me excited at that fact that if you can do it...then I can too! Gosh it's so amazing to watch this video again and feel the feelings I had the first time watching this to now being in such an incredible spot in my life! Please don't stop making videos! I literally had this video come to mind so many times and it encouraged me. It truly made me push forward because of tour testimony! You are truly a motivation for me and a role model as a mother! God bless you!!

Wow. I never really leave a comment on any video but you truly touched my heart. I am inspired by your words. Thank you for creating this meaningful video. I am 20 yrs old, I got pregnant at 18 managed to graduate high school with morning sickness and nausea everyday. I was always a proficient student but I felt like my life had changed and I wasn't going to be able to attend and afford going to college. I knew I had to be pursue my dreams to provide and be a good role model for my daughter. My parents passed away when I was 13 years old and I had promised them I was going to be someone in this life and I am happy to say that I am now working towards that promise. I am 20 years old now enrolled in a Community College trying to pursue my dream to become a RN. I am so excited to start classes already. One week to go. I'm blessed to have the father of my baby and my daughter to support me every step of the way. God is good.

Could you provide us with an update on your educational status? How did it go? Did you graduate? And how do/did you like it? Brightest Blessings to you and your family.

Wow! I can't really articulate how much your video has inspired, encouraged, and uplifted me. Seeing how you have hundreds of comments regarding this video, I don't know if you will even read this, but if you do, I just want to say thank you for sharing your story. I have been searching youtube for months trying to find someone that I can relate to that is already where I want to be. I can relate to your story in so many ways. Like yourself, I was a teen mom. My daughter is now 18, and I also have a 4 and 5 year old that I am raising alone due to a divorce. I have one more semester of nursing school left. I graduate in December with my associate's degree. Next will come my bachelors, and then a master's degree.Nursing school has been one of the most challenging things I have ever done. I have had a couples of set backs while in school, but after I cry, and pray, I get back up and keep moving forward. Once I am finished with school, I plan to start making videos to encourage teens, and women like you and me who have made up in their mind they want a better life. I will share my journey just as you have done, to let them know anything is possible if you believe! It is no accident that I came across your channel, God knew what I needed to hear, and I got what I needed from watching your video. Please keep sharing, your testimony is a blessing!

Just browsing looking for some mellow tunes and ran into Nurse Lada. I must say to you my sister that this video really touched me. My story is almost identical to yours. I was sitting here trying to get motivated into writing my assignment that is due tomorrow and low and behold. Not only did this bring me to tears but it help me to understand that I'm not alone. I am gonna go, wash my face and get this paper done tonight. You have truly inspired me today to keep pressing on. May God continue to keep you humbled and your life continue to be a ministry and testimony to someone else. This what just what the practitioner ordered ;) Thank you. I will look for you on FB.

I’m crying as I type this... You’re such an inspiration and your story definitely touched my heart! I have been searching for a motivational story I could relate to, and I am happy to have came across your channel. I’m 29 year old single mom who works full-time, and I am aspiring to become a RN/RD... Everyday, my supposed graduation date (2012) saddens my spirits because this educational journey of mine seems never-ending... Life happened, and it knocked me down one too many times. It stresses me out to know that I can only move at a slow and steady pace given my circumstances and obligations outside of school. Although I often feel discouraged, I never allow myself to lose my focus. Giving up and settling for an alternative lifestyle seems so much easier to do, but I too do not want to live with regrets of not finishing as I have a burning fire inside that keeps me moving forward. I had an epiphany, as you mentioned in your brief memoir about your breaking point. Hearing your story gives me hope knowing you endured your struggles and succeeded through the many obstacles thrown at you. Just knowing that you made it through gives me so much HOPE. I‘d like to be as balanced, humble and determined as you are in this noble profession. I will definitely continue to move forward as you did. Thank you for sharing. :)

    • @DrLada
      @DrLada  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Wow! I love your comment Lola! I moved at a slow pace too, and guess what...
I still made it to my destination, and you will too!
I tend to tell people I took the "scenic" route (CNA, LPN, ASN, BSN, MSN) because I decided that I would stop thinking about "time" and just chase my dreams until I reached them. As long as I am here, I have the opportunity to make my dreams a reality.
So let go of 2012, and plan your NEW graduation date.
Look to the future, my friend✨

I had a similar education career minus the teen pregnancy hardship. I got married young and moved twice and each move set me back. I did an Associates in Arts while trying to get my pre reqs for a BSN, didn't get into RN school until my third time applying, did an ADN, then a year later I did the RN-BSN bridge with my hospital while working nights at UT Arlington. I went straight to the FNP after the BSN and had lots of bumps with the masters... 2 babies, 2 surgeries from child birth injuries, and 4 years of slow and painful FNP studying. I graduated in May 2016. It was so hard, but I knew I wanted to do it so I just kept at it.

I truly needed this. I am currently in that spot of hating my life and truly wanting more out of my life. Ive always wanted to be a RN but never had the confidence I needed. Ive had failed attempts with school in the past...I am a CNA and Ive recently applied to RN associates program. I do have long term goals to further my education once I obtain my RN. I have a baby and a 5 year old that really has motivated me to change my life as now is time and my confidence has really built up. Thank you so much for sharing your story. You have brought me so much inspiration. I am thankful I came across your video.

Thank you! As a young mother, almost taken over by drugs and a rotten lifestyle. I have found God and recovery. I have just started my journey this summer to become a RN. I almost gave up on my dreams but God is carrying me forward. This was very motivating. God bless you for sharing your story. ❤

I really needed to hear this. I just quit my job to start nursing school, plus I have no house and almost all the nursing videos talk about how bad the career is. My husband supports me going to school but he thinks I’m a fool sometimes and wants to leave. I felt like I was ready to quit life because everyday is a fight. You get so fed up, but listening to you really helps. I will do this and I will love it. God bless

Thank you so Much! I basically cried most of the video. I just finished my first semester of pre-reqs for Nursing School after a huge life change. This video is a culmination of all the feelings I've had the last few years. Thank you Nurse Lada for sharing your story:)
