I used to love to jump up and down repeatedly on the ding ding hose at gas stations.what a great place the shell station is perfect.

@@rudolphguarnacci197 it's the little things like the ding ding of the service station hose that ya just don't hear anymore that really take ya back. I miss those sounds of yesteryear, the creaking spring and slam of an old wooden screen door are also sounds ya don't hear anymore, just like that ding ding!!!

Thanks Lou for this video coverage. I would have never been able to see this car museum in person, but I have through your lens. Great work by Gilmore staff and volunteers. It would take me a month of Sundays to throughly explore and view the entire museum. And it is so well done, it is a must that the complete museum be seen. This is not an afternoon visit. Hello Lou: We had a small town gas and service station much like that one, this would have been mid 1950`s to around late seventies when he owned it, not sure about when he bought it i was not born yet..
the pumps were changed eventually but I remember them. The owner was an immigrant by the name of Juneiti St. Juliana. (not sure of the spelling) he was a heck of a guy who my dad said married his older sister in law at a very young age, after his older brother was killed in WW2..(I believe that was expected back then)? he raised their two children and had seven more of their own, one of his daughters was in my class from kindergarten to graduation, a real classic Italian beauty. The man always brought me out a candy when mom filled up when I was small.. and he would sing beautifully in Italian while working. Such memories I had forgotten over time.. Thanks for posting this it was awesome to see. got a tear in my eye remembering his singing voice unless my wife is cutting onions maybe?

I loved loved the race car track could spend hours up there as I had a track at home that I loved in HO scale. Those old cars on all floors were just spectacular and I so enjoyed each and every one! The old car models in metal and plastic I so enjoyed seeing. Just a wonderful presentation you gave us. And thanks for sharing for us to see and thanks to the Gilmore for allowing it for us to see. This is the only collection of "all-time" motor vehicles all in one series I've ever come across.I sure hope that if you can out-do this, I'll be there, I've saved every episode to watch over and over again. Hi, Lou! Love that old Shell station exhibit. I imagine they must have had to reach far and wide to get all the pumps and old parts and things to make it complete. And THERE are the Checkers! As I said before, there had to be at least a few to be shown in Kalamazoo. I think I'd have to take driving lessons all over again to learn how to operate one of those brass era cars!
Great conclusion to this fun trip through time! ILL CYA in the next episode!
