Another great video. I'm impressed with how you keep coming up with content. I know how hard that can be at times. Any way I love them all. Keep it coming and thank you..
When I was that age and ntsrested, the old guys wouldn't give me the time of day. It was frustrating!! I am on a mission to be the opposite for newbies.
@@ModelA even though ive only had my model a for not even a year at this point ive learned alot but i still have alot to learn the problem with what i am confused about nobody around here knows anything about model As or any other 1920s car for that matter.
Hey Paul , thanks again for all these great videos ! We got a kick out of " Starring " in this one ! That's us taking the photos at the Chrysler Turbine car . Thanks again to you and Tina being so gracious and talking with us
You have so many nice folks on this video, Graham is a nice young man, oh I love the color of Model A Mabel! All beautiful automobiles there, loved watching you all having fun. Thanks Paul, have a great afternoon!
The problem with a turbine car is fuel economy, or more to the point, the lack of it! But boy was it a looker! I took many pics of it, but the windows were up, so glare prevented good interior pics. Good show, Paul!
@@ModelA My fascination with turbine power goes back to childhood. My dad worked on Allison 501 (T-56) engines (as well as others) for 30+ years. Great power, long life, very reliable and very thirsty!!
What a great event, it should be on everyone's bucket list. And thank you, volunteering for the Model A museum is my pleasure. Tell Tina Shelly and I said Hi.
We have a young couple that brings Model T's to local shows. First time I saw them they had a T touring that was pretty nice. The next time I saw them they had a SUPER nice 1913 model. I was told they had several T's. There is hope for the future!
Great video and excellent people and cars to highlight! The pride of ownership, and workmanship, are quite impressive on all 3. Thank you again for making me aware of this event - it was truly fantastic. Thank you as always, have a great week ~ Chuck
Those Mopars from the late ‘50’s and early ‘60’s are so quirky and cool 🥰. Perfect for the B-52’s 😉. Would be nice to see the transformation on the fire truck.
CONGRATULATIONS - October 26 - The results are in! Four members have been elected to the MAFCA Board of Directors. Congratulations to Paul Shinn, Ed Tolman, Bill Truesdell, and Chet Wojcik Jr.
Another fine video, Paul! I learned of the turbine car from your video from last year. Since then I’ve read a little more about them. Thank you for showing us the in this video.
Hi Paul!: So you got the hots for the Turbine Car too! One beautiful machine! Chrysler should have made that Ghia body style at some point, even if they had to put a 318 in it instead of the turbine engine. The model A's you picked were super cool! It was fun to see Graham with his COOL 1929 Roadster!! So refreshing to see a young person who's first idea ISN'T lets put a small block Chevy in that! Brrrrr! Sorry, that makes me cringe! We need more Graham's! I think it would be so interesting to ride in the bus and on the fire truck! Thanks for sharing!
My son and I were just at The Gilmore last month and at the Auburn, Cord, and Duesenberg museums, and also the Early Ford V8 museum. We are Model A Ford fans and would like your opinion on how to purchase one. Do we join the national Model A Ford Club to start with? Any input would be a great help for us since we love your TH-cam channel.
Commiefornia has been talking about restricting how and where we can drive older cars for a while. Looks like it may be gaining traction. Model T and I are looking to relocate if it does.
Y,ou should try hooking up with TH-cam lawyer Steve Lehto to see if you can get a ride in a turbine car. He doesn’t have one but he wrote a book about them and I believe he occasionally gets the opportunity to ride in one.
Just a little note Paul, rockets don't fly with jet turbines.... It's a jet car not a rocket car... For it to be a rocket it needs to carry it's own oxidizer and burn in a chamber that exhaust through a nozzle.
Why no gas turbine powered cars? Fuel efficiency. Large gas turbines do well, but at automotive engine scale, they can't compete. Same is true for steam turbines, by the way. Gas turbine powered locomotives are scarce as well. I am amazed that you can get excited over that Chrysler thing when, right over there sits a kaiser Darrin - wow! 😁
It could run on any combination of diesel and unleaded gasoline. Fuel could be found everywhere! The Chrysler Turbine exhaust temp was no higher than piston engine exhaust, thanks to the recirculators.
@@ModelA no it would be nice for my collection, but am helping the city try to sell it. It runs just need so TLC, it was in one of the barns, that fell down when Perry MI was it by a Tornado in August
It is nice to see younger people into the model a.. I'm 53 and I feel young driving mine

Thanks! Will do!
its nice to see another really young guy getting into the model a scene and like he said we're here but we are unseen.

Thanks Dean
Great time at Gilmore's Paul, it was fun giving you a ride in my Coupe. This hobby we share is hard to beat. See you next year.
Congratulations for being awarded "Volunteer of the Year"!!!

Great to hear!
My model A tudor has the same colors as that yellow roadster, including the brown fenders. Love to be a little different.
And cool!

Off subject: Paul do you know anything about California going after classic cars i.e. fuel taxes? Thanks

Does the fire truck have four gears? I heard the AA’s do.
I don't remember!

There is a turbine car at the museum of transport in
manchester MO
Neat!
Just a little note Paul, rockets don't fly with jet turbines.... It's a jet car not a rocket car...
For it to be a rocket it needs to carry it's own oxidizer and burn in a chamber that exhaust through a nozzle.
Noted
I think that the exhaust temperature was a issue? Setting people and car's on fire was frowned upon.
Chrysler had that figured out already. Turbine exhaust temp was the same as piston engine exhaust temp on this car. I think is was just the NOx.
Why no gas turbine powered cars? Fuel efficiency. Large gas turbines do well, but at automotive engine scale, they can't compete. Same is true for steam turbines, by the way. Gas turbine powered locomotives are scarce as well.

Paul: congrats on your election to the MAFCA Board of Directors!
Thank you Rick. I'm going to work my butt off.
In east Tennessee it would have been called an "A-Model," not a "Model A."
Ahha!!! Thanks
Why didn't the turbine go into production? High heat output, poor mileage, high production cost and where do you buy fuel.
It could run on any combination of diesel and unleaded gasoline. Fuel could be found everywhere! The Chrysler Turbine exhaust temp was no higher than piston engine exhaust, thanks to the recirculators.
General Lee !?.... ouch
Aw, paint it whatever colors ya dern want....
Dont think that bus is original, most school buses in that era was rear load
Not sure, but I think it migut be
