    The TeraFlex JK Rzeppa High-Angle Factory Replacement CV Joint Kit replaces worn or damaged factory Rzeppa CV joint and driveshaft without resorting to an expensive aftermarket U-joint upgrade. The high-angle CV housing reduces boot failure common with 3” or more lift heights.
    The included low-friction grease is engineered specifically for the high RPM needs of the JK Rzeppa CV joint and features high-viscosity surface bonding characteristics necessary to properly adhere the grease to all moving surfaces.
    FITS:
    • JK Wrangler (2-door)
    • JKU Wrangler Unlimited (4-door)
    INCLUDES:
    • CV joint assembly
    • High-angle CV housing cap and boot
    • Bolt flanges
    • Socket head bolts
    • 6mm Allen wrench
    • Low-friction CV grease
    NOTE:
    • Proper grease packing of the joint is essential for joint longevity.
    • Grease must be packed thoroughly & liberally to the entire CV assembly. Be generous & use all grease provided. Improperly packing the bearings w/out sufficient grease will result in bearing failure. For complete step-by-step procedure please watch the instructional video linked below.

    It helps to tape the areas that you do not want grease on.

    Great video. I used the teraflex CV joint a year ago when the upper rear joint and boot failed. Have about 10,000 miles on the teraflex joint and no problems at all.
    Just replaced the upper front but did not use the teraflex. I figured I got 138,000 miles on my jk with the stock CV and 3.5” if lift I figured I should get another 138K out of a cheaper OEM replacement for $50 bucks.
    Can’t stress enough how important it is to properly pack and grease these CV bearings.
    If you follow this video to a T you should have no problem wether using the Teraflex or OEM cv joint.

      hey sorry did not get an alert that I had a response to my post. Just happened to go on this video to make another post.
      Go on eBay and search drive shaft cv propeller joints. The company is prop-mechaniks out of Ft Lauderdale FL.
      My Teraflex joint just failed after only 14,000 miles. Going to order another replacement from prop-mechaniks and bitch out Teraflex on Monday for their garbage cv joint.
      Very disappointed in that product at $150.

    I decided on the 2.5" lift instead of 3" because I was afraid this joint would fail had I went with the higher lift. Now I can lift my JK higher and get this joint too.

      @jakealcazar3805 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's when you really hit the 3.50 lifts and higher, when you'll start need to worrying about any damage to the boot. Of course, for a 3" lift this is still definitely a good product of peace of mind.

    My Teraflex rzeppa cv started crapping out after just 10k miles. Wish I would have just went for a replacement driveshaft from the beginning. I would recommend Adams, the quality is superb.

      Yeah crap product. Joint just shit the bed at 14,000 miles.
      Going to try more CPR and use a OEM replacement joint and give teraflex an ear full this week.

    well i just bought one of these and was going to install it today but all these comments about the part failing at about 10k miles makes me worry. guess i’ll just grease tf out of it like they say and hope for the best... unsettling tho for sure.

      They redesigned the part a little.
      I'll be installing a replacement one later this week - original one failed on me after two years, but Teraflex support offered me a discount on a replacement, and sent me a couple coozies, keychains, etc. Figure for the cost I'll give it another shot - worst case it saves me buying a $500 driveshaft for a while longer. Best case the redesigned one outlasts my first one :)
      Changes I've noticed - redesigned part comes with:
      1. the seals pre-applied to the end caps (rather than being loose parts that you have to install separately)
      2. Two half-ring washer-things that go under the bolt heads (old one had metal figure-eight style washer-things. Two bolts per each figure-eight-washer)
      3. They've put red threadlocker on the tips of the bolts, and have advised against using a bolt to push grease out of the bolt holes on the bearing after packing the bearing.

  • @JeepTJWheelin
    @JeepTJWheelin 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I had two that failed. Save time and money and get a 1310 or 1350 Tom Woods drive shaft. In the end, you will actually save money you can use on the million other things our friggin lifted jeeps require to ride somewhat normal. Wherever that means for these things. Teraflex is a great company but this part isn't among their best.

      mine has been great. had it on for about a year now. you dont have to worry about caster angle causing vibrations with a rzeppa joint like with a double cardan driveshaft. makes it better IMO.

    Is the reppeza joint the same for the transfer case ? The t case output shaft and the rear transmission output shaft joints look the same thats why I ask.
    The reppeza joint the comes out my Transfer case look a bit too much at an angle. I have TF 2.5" lift w/ TF Apline Adjustable control arms.
    Any help will be appreciated 🙏 thank you

    • @jamescole6846
      @jamescole6846 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is, I just replace all 3 of mine. 2 on the rear and one on the front at the transfer case. The front front into the differential is a u-joint. Mine wern't rusted and clunking but I saw some grease on the floor and crawled under and the boots on all three were tore. ~4 1/2 lift but her the factory joints lasted 93,000 miles. 40,000 since the lift. I'll try these for now and then upgrade the drive shaft next time they fail.

  • @davidzambrano9126

    This is instead of buying a brand new front driveshaft ?

    • @teraflexsuspensions
      @teraflexsuspensions  ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct. By swapping out the factory CV joint for our high angle CV joint it can let the factory driveshaft work at higher lift amounts without replacing it.

  • @woof3598
    @woof3598 ปีที่แล้ว

    exactly how is this different that the OEM ?

    • @teraflexsuspensions
      @teraflexsuspensions  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. This CV joint has a larger wider cv boot bell, so the CV can operate at a steeper angle without tearing the boot or having the shaft contact the bell. Then on the backside there is a relief on the cap so the CV balls and cage will not make contact like the OEM one at steeper angles.

    Can this joint be used to replace the cv joints on the rear drive shaft?

    • @teraflexsuspensions
      @teraflexsuspensions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! It can be used on both ends in the rear, and the transfer case side in the front of a stock JK.

  • @WedidLandONtheMOON
    @WedidLandONtheMOON 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    If only the driveshaft cv joint was not completely seized to the t-case. If will not break loose. I even tried to use my other Jeep to pull the driveshaft loose and nothing. Its like rusted on.

    • @djamac360
      @djamac360 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yazid B , my stock CV boot blew and you could tell by looking at where the front drive shaft connects to the transfer case there was a bunch of grease sling up on the heat shield. Eventually when I put the jeep in four-wheel-drive I started hearing what sounded like a creaking noise or clicking and popping noise when I went over obstacles or up hill. I replaced it with this teraflex one and the sound is gone completely.

    At 8:03 he says "Once ti en bend over the excess ....." WTF does "ti en" mean? Men, lets all practice how to pronounce the word "Tighten". It's pronounced Ti - TEN. There's a T in the middle and it's not silent. Repeat after me. Ti TEN. Men don't let other men speak like teenage girls from The VALLEY. Other than that and one other glottal stop a few seconds later, good vid.
